@h-bird Apparently half the Slaughter repaints shipped with wonky left feet, so maybe you'd luck out!
Hasbro is charging for Steel Corp and Twilight CG pack. I was starting to wonder as they didn’t send the about to ship notice.
Thwipp!
Went ahead and ordered Torch and Doc from WM after Honey sent me a a 15% cashback deal email a little while ago.
@prophet I didn't get the pre-charge notice on that one. I got a "your card is being charged" notice but it didn't tell me which set was being charged for (I was hoping for the Night Force two pack first!). Already got shipping notice though that this one is on the way.
I also got charged for the Steel Corps Commander/Twilight CG set. I didn't receive the warning email that it would charge in a few days OR the email that it did charge.
I somehow missed that this two pack was announced, let alone put up for preorder. I'm usually on top of things better than this. I have failed my collection.
Random observation since the Steel Corps commander is shipping - anyone else kinda like the Steel Corps witout the shoulder armor better? I kinda like the less bulky look when I remove the pauldrons for the original two-pack. They feel lighter, more mobile, more of a throwback to the original sendaway figure.
I think with the jet pack on the bulkier look makes sense, a flight armor. Without the jet pack I can see the less armor look being better. This Steel Corps commander figure is using the Low Light body I think. I look forward to getting it and playing around with the extra one I got. I needed two of the Twilight CGs as guards for Mindbender.
Thwipp!
My Retro Cobra Trooper got moved up!… to October 21st, because Amazon had pushed them back to Nov 4 from Oct 3, which Cobra Commander and Stalker still say.
The vac metal face place for CC is a neat choice, although for the sake of uniformity with the rest of the line, I kind of wish it was just painted silver. Still super excited for him. Now that we’ve gotten the retro Duke and Scarlet, that original CC is the only figure on my Joe shelf that feels like he needs replaced.
I think the Retro Vipers may get the shiny visors too.
Thwipp!
Pulse is charging for retro Stalker. Got the Amazon notice on the trooper bump as well.
They all look great, but only picking up Zandar, most likely. He's the only one that hit me in the nostalgia today.
Loving Zandar to bits. The rest look alright but not for me. Undecided how I feel about SAW Viper. He's heavy af and has a lot of issues that I don't like in this line (such as restrictive vests). Overall I strongly dislike how almost every figure they've shown so far has a restrictive vest. Especially Dial Tone, his vest is so lazy and tight. Lazy over-reuse here imo.
Zandar is great. I don't have nearly the issues with Dial Tone and Leatherneck other people seem to, so this wave seems pretty decent to me. The Saw Viper IS way too bulky though. The vest is a bit ridiculous and the back pack is so overly thick and bulky - I think I'll be ditching both of those things immediately when I get the figure.
Starduster, Saw viper and Dial Tone look pretty good. Zandar will look better with the chest piece removed and when he gets a chest holster from...somewhere. I miss his brighter blue colors.
Leatherneck has the same problem Doc had, which is too much arm showing. If the original figures had longer sleeves, I wish they'd keep the longer sleeves. It diminishes the...I don't know, "tough" feel? Hard to describe, but it's a visceral thing, hardwired into my brain. Otherwise he looks good.
Also Leatherneck looks like John Dehner's medicine man character from an episode of the Andy Griffith show, Colonel Harvey.
