Yikes, I didn't factor in the tires. Now it's $175 with the howitzer, $115 without. (Oh, and $100 for the Stinger). Still tempting but a bit less so ...
I actually just bought a couple things from them but haven't gotten them yet. I got some gold deagles for the new movie DP coming out in a couple months and their set of black ninja katanas. Their stuff is a bit pricier then some places but I decided to give them a shot.
An added bonus to the Stinger APC add-on is that it frees up the back runner board to be added to the VAMP. It's almost irresponsible NOT to get it.
I don’t care how cool it looks, it’s not worth more than a whole separate Stinger to me. I have the same rule with Transformers upgrades and custom capes.
I also plan to give the Stinger’s runner board to the Vamp as it makes more sense there. However, I gave the Stinger the HMS since the Hiss already has a lot of teams and firepower. Red Techno Viper can hang with the Stinger driver in the passenger seat. I’ll probably get another HMS if it ever goes on sale at Pulse for the HISS next time. It kinda makes sense to me if the Stinger runs out of normal missiles to shoot, it can fire even bigger missiles as back up to finish the job. Plus the Stinger has a hitch that can easily pull the HMS along.
@leor It also was always a bit of a quandry to me about how useful the Stinger was after firing it's missiles. I mean 4 missiles is good and all, but it didn't carry any extra ammo and had no secondary weapon (gun). With the HMS, as you said, it has more firepower, and could technically carry extra ordinance.
To me in regards to play value the Stinger had the weapon I enjoyed more than guns as a kid and as a nostalgic adult kid. You could toss the missile. Throwing the missile to hit a Tomahawk or ground vehicle and as always definite when playing battles. Gun fire was always subjective. I hit your guy. No you didn’t. He was hiding behind this pillow.
Now with proper blast effects you can have a visually more interesting display with missiles firing off as opposed to the muzzle flash effects for a gun. I’m modifying some Hasbro effects to see if I can achieve this desired effect. There should have been dogbone ports on the end of the effect and the smoke paint on the opposite side to use with the missiles. I’m messing with those extra effects this weekend to see if I can get that to work.
The jeep shape is very pleasant for the VAMP and Stinger. Sure they are both a tad bit smaller for the scale but they look good for a display. The colors work well too.
That Grid Iron APC attachment for the Stinger is tempting but it’s like $200 to make it as you need the tires and gun along with the attachment.
Thwipp!
@canprime Yeah, the Stinger seems more like a long range attack vehicle whereas the Vamp is short to mid range with machine guns. Stinger just gets to long range attack position and then hauls ass out of there once the ordinance is spent. I figure with the Stinger, the HMS can get positioned a lot faster than having the HISS drag it along.

I had the same thought but I couldn't get the runner board to fit on the VAMP. The gas can container was in the way of the two nubs on the top that help keep it stable on the back of the vehicle.
Maybe you'll have better luck figuring it out then I did.
Just saw the Gridiron Stinger stuff this morning.
Wow... that does make this SO much more attractive. Not HasLab price attractive for me at this stage, just due to the space constraints, but if I had a bigger toy room I don't think I could pass up that conversion - it looks amazing. It takes the generic grey jeep and kicks it up a number of levels...
Both is great, and that add-on does just that. It's also why I like the FOE Striker so much. The figures are the real stars in Classified, if I'm going to buy some big vehicle, I'd love to be able to pose at least a few characters interacting with it. Not a huge fan of sticking a figure into a doored vehicle or plane canopy where I'll never see them again.
Gnawgahyde already hitting clearance at my Targets. 30% off.
Has anyone used one of the usual tricks to tighten the bicep swivel on Cover Girl or Zarana? Just wondering what works better on that particular joint (Pledge, superglue, gorilla glue...).
Speaking of joints, though, on a whim I bid on a Destro this weekend, the cardback one, because I have two with basically frozen hips and I wanted to give it one more shot... FINALLY have one that works right! I want to send the seller a thank you card. (If someone here sold an out of box Destro on Thursday, made my week to finally have one that can be posed properly!)
