Hasbro has had enough of our toy hacks and is putting an end to our meddling.
Dumb question - the card-backed retro Cobra Trooper hasn't been released yet, right? Trying to remember if/where I ordered him and pulling the old Gandalf "I have no memory of this place" thing.
My Marauders Sarge is supposed to arrive today from Amazon, so I appreciate the warning about the boots...now I know to be careful so I don't break him.

I don’t think so. My preorder on Amazon just got pushed back to November.
The hips joints used to be terrible with this line, to the point where I was using shock oil on every figure, but it’s a lot better now. The only bad joints I’m still finding are the waist joints. It always feels like I’m going to twist them apart if I try to turn the waist too far. Can’t figure out a way to loosen them so they just stay stiff.
@nilocomic They really have improved a LOT. I can't remember the last bum hip I got. Even figures who gave me trouble the first time (like Spirit) were fine in a later version (his Marauder figure was fine right out of the box). I think the only figures lately who gave me trouble were the Fire Team troopers. Wish I hadn't done some low-key army building early on though, got like a half-dozen of arthritic Vipers and BATS.
oh yeah I remember the days of sanding the nubs on the hip ball joints. thank god those days are in the past. I remember Barbecue in particular having virtual ratchet hip joints because the nubs were so pronounced. I wonder if Mad Marauders BBQ is the same way? Haven't opened him yet. Maybe the days of sanding aren't behind me, lol.
I don't deal with a ton of locked joints, but sometimes the joints are so stiff they might as well be locked, like some of the lower knee joints or lower elbow joints on these guys. And the wrists function like they're sealed on a few of mine, namely both of my figures on the Firefly body (FF and Wreckage) and I'm sure others. It's usually the up/down weapon holding hinge that won't budge at all.
@vicious7171 I did a whole survey of my collection the other day because I was feeling neurotic and couldn't figure out what to do with myself in the middle of the night, and both versions of Barbecue moved pretty well for me. First version of Firefly was super stuck like you mentioned, but the later version was a little wobbly and lose, but I'd rather a little too loose than so tight they break.
The one really stuck figure who bugs me is Mind Bender, cos they haven't reissued him yet. I'd love a bare bones new version of him just to get functional hips. The figure otherwise is amazing.
You can use super glue or clear nail polish to tighten most joints. Depending on the joint that's loose is how you do it, but most of them are just a dab, move it till it's dry, make sure it's dry before you stop moving it. Some you can disassemble and put the glue on then spread it around with a push pin or paper clip and then after it dries put the other piece back on. I've been doing it for decades with floppy joints.
I did that with some of mine, except with Future Floor Polish/Pledge. Took the legs off completely and just did thin layers on the ball joint, giving them a day to dry fully. I suppose you could just drop a tiny bit into a pinless joint, I do it all the time to tighten pinned joints on Transformers, but never tried with an action figure. YMMV!
Dang, their wheels for the ATVs are a huge improvement over the originals. I'd want Tiger Paw colors, but honestly, probably too expensive for me anyway.

Super glue works on pinless and pinned joints. Just have to keep working the joint till the glue actually dries so it doesn't fuse. The glue I use I only have to work it for maybe 10 minutes to be safe. But it also depends on how much you use.
Just saw the Gridiron Stinger stuff this morning. Amazing. While I was fine passing on the Stinger, I immediately went to see if it was still in stock on Amazon ...
For the vehicle add-on and howitzer piece, it'd be an additional $140 before tax and shipping. It's not super unreasonable (to me) for how great that all looks together and how it transforms a black Vamp into a sweet APC-looking vehicle.
I have to ponder this ... Maybe see some shots when folks start getting this in hand.
I like the look of those Gridiron replacement tires for the Ferret much more than I do the stock tires. The vintage Ferret has a more aggressive tread that makes smoother, balloonier tires of the Classified Ferret feel insubstantial.
@grumpymatt Don't forget that if you do the set you also need to get the tires for the Stinger itself otherwise you'll have 2 different tires on the back of the 6x6 compared to the front four.
Being in Canada means Gridiron is a no go for me because I have to consider the price, shipping, exchange rate and any possible duties. Just the 6x6 conversion kit alone would be about the same as a Stinger up here ($150Cdn approx).
