Also got on here to gripe that Amazon pushed back my retro Cobra Troops from October 3 to November 4. With the way that wave has been showing up in Asia for so long, I was hoping those figures would get pushed UP. I need that Commander.

Knowing Hasbro/Amazon, they'll ship suddenly in September lol.

Personally and I don't mean to be a negative nancy, but besides the Night Force Quarrel two-pack, I'm not terribly interested in anything up for preorder right now (not counting haslabs).  I'm by no means done with the line, but it feels like a bit of a lull.   The Storm Shadow/Alpine/BAT/Grenadier wave isn't too interesting overall, neither are the Deluxe Sniper or HALO, nor Road Pig.  Road Pig looks like a Hasbro Fortnite toy, and I'm not sure I'm feeling it.

Mostly looking forward to Zandar and some other name-only reveals like Heavy Duty and Retro Rock n Roll.  I wonder if they'll make new body parts for him.  He seems larger than the Stalker body which is already reused like crazy.

Is anybody else in the same boat?  Is anyone the polar opposite, really excited for what's on preorder right now?

Anyone remember if Walmart puts several credit “holds” on credit cards for preorders. I remember they did that when I ordered the Falcon and Quarrel two pack at the last collector con. The hold lasted a couple of weeks or so before disappearing. It seems the hold has returned. I can’t remember if that’s supposed to keep repeating until time of shipment.

@vicious7171 Y'know, now that you mention it, I'm not like, raging to get most of the current preorders - I like them well enough that I have preordered a good number of them, but I'm not super impatient. Like I grumbled about Amazon pushing those two back but if I wait a few weeks longer that's fine. (Mostly I grumble because Amazon shipped the four figures from that last wave I was happy to wait for early, but my Doc figure traveled the entire country before getting here).

Retro Stalker and Alpine are probably my GIMME GIMME figures from the next batch. I'd be more excited if the Iron Grenadier was classic style (not hating on the updated look but I loooooved the original version as a kid so much).

And I'll call myself out - I'm happy to wait for Road Pig and Raptor, but I'm a sucker for the animal companions in this line, so if they weren't coming with a dog and a falcon, I'd be way chiller. I just think Classified knocks it out of the park with the animals every time, so Rawkus looks like a lot of fun.

I keep trying to get a Firefly 84 for a not crazy price, but I know that's not too realistic right now. Is he getting a retro release?

@ru1977 They haven't said anything about a re-release, but for your sake I hope they do a reissue - the 84 version is infinitely better than the modernized version they put out (in my opinion). I liked the head sculpt of the modern one but the body armor was clunky and I got two versions of him with bum hips, so the retro one was such a relief to have a functioning figure. (The other one came with some great gear though.)

@docsilence thank you. I definitely prefer the 84 one. If I can't get one, not the end of the world but I think Firefly is the last classified figure I'm gonna get.

Weirdly enough, just a couple of days ago, Entertainment Earth seemed to have gotten a new shipment of  Classifieds Firefly. I think he sold out quick but I’m not sure when he was listed by the time I saw him as I stock. Some of the FYE stores in the malls near me got Firefly too but at $40 a month ago. And he still sold out at all of them.

So, I know it doesn't belong here but I really didn't feel like starting a thread in the General forum for a single post - when it's Joe adjacent anyway (at least for my purposes) -  but I just received and opened my Mad Dog figure from the FIST toy line by Invincible Toys.    The overall line seems a little too space mutant-y for me, but I ordered this guy because I feel like he'll fit in really well with my Joes.

He's got a very Tiger Force paint job -  green pants with orange stripes and an orange shirt -  but the head gives more of a Dreadnoks vibe with the orange mohawk and braided beard...

The production figure has the colors a bit more muted and the hair is toned down several notches from that image above.

In terms of overall quality,  it feels pretty good in hand.   I don't love the shoulder ball construction - it seems a little closer to ToyBiz Marvel Legends than modern action figures - with the shoulder ball sitting outside the torso sculpt instead of nestled inside more.    The lower body construction seems fine though.    Paint quality isn't exactly top notch... there's some sloppy work on some of the stripes on the leg and the paint application on the shoulders isn't even.    But overall I'm not disappointed in the figure at all.

Anyway -  I feel like he'll fit in pretty well as a back up 'Nok.   I already added another female Dreadnok I mashed up from a Fortnite figure and an extra ML Rogue head, so I'm beefing up that team a bit.

I don't know if this line will survive long enough to do any additional figures beyond the first four - but if they do include another human or two in a second wave I'd at least consider it.

I love this line but I have the worst luck with stuck joints. I picked up Marauder Sarge on a whim a few days ago and when he arrived today his left boot was stuck so I loosened it a little and it went from glued stuck to wobbling and ready to snap off. Returns with Pulse are an absolute PITA so I think I may just glue it back in place and leave it alone. I'm so annoyed at myself for even trying to do a little ankle surgery but it's the same technique I've used to loosen hundreds of other figures when the calf-cut won't twist.

Meanwhile, I nearly destroyed one of the Walmart/carded Destros trying to fix stuck hips this week (I bought two of him, both can't sit or move their hips) and realized I bought two Stormshadows who can't move their legs forward or back either, and setting up my display a bit differently, Cover Girl and Zatana had arms that popped off at the bicep. There's about fifteen figures I'd re-buy if they fixed the articulation. None of my basic Vipers have good hips either. The line's gotten a lot better the past year or so but some of those earlier ones gave me so much grief.

oof I've had some terrible luck with joints, too.  Destro was the first terrible QC figure I bought.  His hips were so loose he couldn't even stand.  I went through three Tomax figures because the first two had extremely loose limbs.  Most-recently, Firefly, had one loose elbow and knee.  Loose like, can't even hold a gun without his arm dropping.  Sucks to hear the issues still happen.

Personally I always soak my new figures in hot soapy water for 30 seconds, then wash them off and soak in cool water for a few minutes, take them out and let them get to room temp and test each joint one at a time.  I think especially in the summer when the temps are so high, these figures get warped in the plastic bubbles and the plastic can be lightly stuck together.  Warming them up should, in theory, reshape the plastic back to it's original shape, and the cold water sets it.  It won't fix if a joint is too loose but helps a lot if it's too tight.

It's doable without water if you are afraid of mold (understandable!) with a heat gun and a freezer.

My Marauders Sarge had a stuck left shin twist also and a stuck lower knee bend. Hot water worked for me and he’s been fine since.

@leor Mine sheered off at the joint completely. Usually the hot water trick works, but not this time.

Hot water hasn't worked on any of the stuck hips or elbows in this line either. Three dud Lady Jayes, three dud Vipers, two dud Fireflys, a dud Spirit, two dud Destros, and several dud BATS. I've had so much bad luck with this line. The amazing thing is when the figures aren't wonky they're the best thing Hasbro is making right now, so they haven't lost me yet even a little.

@docsilence Yeah. Mine felt like it was literally gonna tear also after the hot water soak. I got lucky that the joint freed up. I’ve freed other figures using the same method with more confidence  but this one felt like one of those really iffy ones. I never tried the hot water trick with stuck hips. I just did what a lot of people on fwoosh suggested and invested in a bottle of shock oil with a needle tip.

@leor Y'know the weird thing? Shock oil REALLY helped with some Masterverse figures I had trouble with, but with Classifieds it didn't work. I think it's the size of the ratchets they used early on in the line - looking at Destro and those BATS, the nubs are really intense. I find shock oil works for a little while then fades, just on this line. (And the elbows on poor Lady Jaye are a bit of a design flaw, but hilariously I bought one like 75% off from Amazon a few months back and finally got a good one. She's now my golden child of a figure. "This, this is the chosen one! She does not have broken elbows!")
