Quick de-rail, but I need the Hobbit/LOTR to hurry up and become public domain. I love the Jackson live action trilogy, but I'm thirsty for different interpretations, including figures.

I just need good figures of the Rankin & Bass interpretations (crap, that leaves Boromir out, doesn't it? I watch Hobbit multiple times a year, but it's been awhile since I watched RotK, and I don't think he was in it since he died in Bakshi's version...), and I'd never need any other versions.

TLDR:

Spoiler
I have been LOVING Super7's R&B sculpts, but their issues & limited articulation sour me on that option (while I'd championed it prior).

Premium DNA is socially problematic & might be going under based on AliExpress leaks & BBTS clearancing.

Boss Fight Studios does great work, but is apparently socially problematic now as well.

NECA would make them limited NFT Loot Crate exclusives, so no one but scalpers would be able to get them. Hasbro hasn't wowed me with their cartoon adaptations, be it What If?, Spider-Verse, or X-Men '97 (they're all good, don't get me wrong, but I need GREAT sculpts for those R&B faces).

Jada's first couple waves of Street Fighter & Mega Man have impressed HARD, but back to having issues with face sculpts (Street Fighter - it's the one area where I prefer my Figuarts).

Nacelle's Biker Mice are great, and their C.O.W.boys look just as good, but they need to work on their joint aesthetics (I don't have as big of an issue as most people, but I'll admit they could definitely look better).

I don't love what Diamond Select has put out for the Jackson stuff, and then you go back to limited articulation like Super7.

Loose Collector could do the beasts amazing, but they'd be insanely expensive, and their women are admittedly "soft."

I hate 1/12 soft goods, and Mezco's would be as expensive as LC (or more) and as hard to get as NECA's. HARD PASS.

Playmates... 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 JFC, NO. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Mattel? I've been loving Masterverse & the Hammond Collection, though the last couple waves never made it to stores, so both of my collections are missing items that are now prohibitively expensive on the secondary market, and there are still odd choices made with both lines.

Bro, I don't know, I just want R&B Tolkien figures, lol.

I was legitimately trying to remember what thread I was in for a minute...   post after post about Lord of the Rings in the G.I. Joe Classified thread....  must be in a news lull for this brand.

I went to my closest Target yesterday hoping to luck into a Tiger Paw but alas the cupboard was bare.   In fact the only G.I. Joe product at all were a couple of reaction Joes and one single Gnawgahyde and nothing else at all.    Sigh.

Right now we're supposed to be playing with our Dragonflys!  Lol.  I'm eagerly awaiting the Flint and Quarrel two-pack that is supposed to arrive early September.  There's a lot of cool stuff on the way but that pack, even with all it's reuse, is my most-anticipated item.

Is there Tiger Force LoTR repaints coming? I want a Python Patrol variant of Gollum to go with my Tiger Force Galandria.

Thwipp!

That's actually one of my most anticipated too. For some reason I really like the set. Besides my Red Sonja that possibly got delayed, and John Wick 3 Mafex, this set is my biggest want right now. Maybe it's partly because I didn't think I was gonna be able to get it? I unno. I'm just really excited for it now.

@trunks3540 They're both home runs.  Unless QC drops the ball, they'll be great figures, we know from the parts breakdown.  Falcon on the Outback buck with the Range Viper vest with optional helmet and NVGs that can be given to other figures.  Quarrel on the fantastic Retro Scarlett buck with Shooter's upper torso, also with an optional helmet.  Modular equipment parts that can be swapped onto other figures is my favorite play aspect of this line and these two are showing up ready to share.  I'm loving Quarrel's green, she might be my favorite female figure, we'll have to see.  The attractive heads on both of them is icing on the cake!

I don’t think I’ve seen a Tiger Paw at retail so far. See a lot of the TF Roadblock and Tripwire 2 packs. An occasional Gnawgahyde and retro Duke and Recondo. Shelves and pegs are mostly bare though at Targets in my area.

Hey, blame @docsilence & @chooch555 !!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Got my OAMCC yesterday.

He's neat. I wish his snake head was a little...better? Like, if his mouth was slightly open like the artwork on the back, I'd be in love. As is, it's kinda derpy (it looks exactly like the promo pics - I knew exactly what I was paying for lol).

And I'm not going to use the helmet, because I already have my default CC in the form of the first release (dark blue, though I wish I'd been able to get the black version, not for CC specifically, just because it was a great repaint).

I love that his coat is removable & they painted his back, because while I hadn't initially planned on it, that's definitely how I'm displaying him (& little Snakey) with Serpentor & Mole Rat & Shadow Tracker & ML What If? Zombie Cap.

Waiting two weeks for Doc to arrive and the package showed up 35 minutes after I left to table at a comic con. Arrrrrgh. Guess I'll be opening him on Sunday night.

So I don't know much about Quarrel. I tried looking it up and I couldn't find alot on her online either. How important is the crossbow to her? I know it's a staple of Scarlet. But does Quarrel use it as much as well? Is there any info on it? I would like to try and differentiate her a bit more from Scarlet and taking the crossbow would be a good way to do that I think. Unless it's like taking away Snake Eyes sword (here's looking at you doggo set), or Scarlet's crossbow. I don't wanna take away her signature weapon if that's what it is to her. I know she likes fast bikes. That's about all I could gleam.

So $30 bucks more before taxes and shipping. Not too bad but not too great either.

I missed it.  Already sold out.  That extra $30 they tacked on didn't phase anybody......which I'm sure Hasbro will pay attention to.
