Does anyone remember what time preorders begin? Is it immediately after all the presentations? I want to make sure I'm not on the road or in Target looking for toys they don't have.
Amazon sent shipping early messages for Grunt, Low-Light, and Viper. I can't trust them because they pulled my Eel preorder in, then delayed him for a week or two.
On the one hand, I'm a big fan of both Dan Larson's and Thew's YouTube shows.
On the other, I just plan on fast forwarding through everything to see the reveals.
Hasbro needs to re-learn that they're a toy company, not the MCU. I'm willing to bet that 99% of their customer base doesn't want to sit around all day watching a bunch of staged informercials for a bunch of pre-orders that don't go live until after 4pm EST.
They're mistaking perceived social media hype for product success-- which isn't the case. Joe, for example, is now an niche online brand save for some retail exclusives. It's not longer a mass market line anymore. Focus on making toys and less on trying to be a social hype machine.
I was denied Grunt at a Target yesterday at lunch. Got stopped with the reset date, and they wouldn't sell any to me. Last night, I checked popfindr again, and apparently that store sold two to someone else. Sigh.
Stopped at a different Target this morning, which had four in the back. Employee said they didn't have a location so he couldn't do anything. Get to work and check popfindr to find they sold one to someone. Sigh again.
I usually have good luck with Target employees helping me. I think I'm going to give up the dream of finding Grunt(s) for $12. I have a pair coming from Amazon, which bumped up my delivery estimate to next week.
Wow I was actually able to snag a couple of Grunts on the app a bit ago. 4th time’s a charm.
Takes me back to early Cobra Island days. A Target nearby had some of the troopers/infantry and the girl insisted that:
1. If she sells them early, the store would be fined
2. They will still be there in a week when the "street date" (Target's made up floor date) arrives.
They sold the very next day.
Looking forward to seeing the Joe showings for Pulse con, even though it's a little rough getting all these new Joes at once. Have barely had time to enjoy the Valkyries and Tunnel Rat in particular. I am a big fan of THEW so I suppose I'll be watching the whole thing; I hope he hosts the Joes panel, he always points out when they're ridiculous designs and I'm all about it.
I’m lowering my hopes to see at Pulsecon it’s been very lackluster.
Hawk and friends preorder, three name and four render only reveals. No VAMP. That’ll come later this year.
