Finally opened up the Night Force 2 pack of Low Light and Spirit. For a bunch of repaints and reuse, it’s still a pretty fun 2 pack. Totally forgot Spirit does not come with Freedom in this set. Some of the gear was swapped out from other figures. There’s this one big flashlight accessory that seems too big for them to hold and doesn’t seem like it could be placed anywhere on themselves or backpacks. Also didn’t realize how Night Force has a bunch of snipers on their team. I also almost threw out Niyol’s extra pair of wings. I thought he didn’t come with it but it was in a smaller plastic tray behind the the big plastic tray that held the two figures.
@leor They're Mad Marauders not Night Force. So I suppose they're the sniper team of MM.
I personally am very interested in Spirit but see Low Light as a flat-downgrade, giving him that terrible Arctic BAT sniper rifle over his normal sniper case.
Also, why would they change Spirit's backpack? Did Hasbro forget his pack is unique and can hold his birdies? Both figures are worse off because of their gear choices here.
As-is MM is kind of a fall-back "if they're on clearance" team for me.
@vicious7171 Lol. Totally forgot Mad Marauders was a thing even though I knew MMSarge was coming. You’d think I’d read MM on the box but I usually don’t pay attention to the box and more what’s behind the plastic window. What also threw me off is that Low Light comes with Tunnel Rat’s back pack and lights. There was that big flashlight and Tunnel Rat’s night vision goggles too.

Original v2 Low-Light came with the same gear as v1: a sniper rifle and an uzi. Just a big swing-and-miss to not include these bare-essentials for the character in with the repaint (same with Spirit's backpack). I suppose this complaint is larger than just Low-Light, since I had similar complaints with Wreckage and NF Shockwave.
Normally with this line I am very welcoming of repaints but this trend of "repaints but with worse gear" is missing the mark for me and I'm passing on toys that would be slam-dunks otherwise.
Random thought as I was unboxing, does anybody miss the mini-bios on the back of an action figure box? The retro figs have it, but I kinda miss all of them, and vehicles having a little something about them on the back.
I just want the new eagle, I don't need Marauders Spirit or Low-Light, lol.
@panthercult That’s exactly it. My MM Barbecue has been by himself for so long I literally forgot he was Mad Marauders. For the past year or more, he was Nightforce Barbecue in the back of my mind.

Okay, real talk though - those ARAH-era 'Hall of Fame' 12" throw-back figures were freakin' awesome. So those 12"-only folks may have a point....
I'm gonna say something sacrilegious though: I'd buy an homage to his V2 look. I liked that one more as a kid because of the articulation so I've got a soft spot for him. (Though of course the technology has changed so much a fully armored suit would have tons of articulation now.)
Not sacrilege at all! I didn't get the original Sharc as a kid (although I now have like 27 repaints, man that mold got some use), so he was the version I had. Old timey diver look for the win.
Deep Six v2 is one of my biggest wants now, though I can’t imagine them doing it justice since they’d never do a reddish pink helmet and mint green diving suit. He and Hydro Viper were two of my all time favorites as a kid.
I’m excited to see what they do with v1 though, too. Their midsize vehicles have been selling like hotcakes so I’m sure they’re considering a Sharc-and-driver set. Personally I’d skip it all together if they tried to make him a mech of any sort but if they stay faithful-ish to the OG while adding articulation I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
interesting that the MM don’t come with the same load outs as the standard figure. MMs are (so far) the only figures from the vintage line that I’m skipping in Classifieds. I just never liked them and these updates do even less for me.
