That doesn't necessarily mean fired. Could have moved on.
@swordagent His Facebook says "Worked at Hasbro"
Damn, was that something that just changed or maybe it was a typo / autocorrect...
Pulse Con is tomorrow so we'll see if it's live / he's there I suppose. People change jobs all the time, but him being the driving force behind the line along with how well they've listened to feedback / pivoted and made changes that would be a huge loss, imo.
His LinkedIn said present. I don't think any toy news sites reported anything?
@mrboshek He hasn't updated it in awhile. I hope he is still there.
I generally really like the changes he made to the line after the initial run, and how he translated the designs to feel both modern and classic at the same time.
The blessing and curse of being a public persona. If Lenny isn’t presenting during Pulse Con are we going to blast social media to find out why? I have developed a relationship in that I equate his involvement meaning the Classified line will have quality in the design, building from the original designs if applicable. But I’m curious to see how community reacts if Lenny is not there. Just speculation. There’s little evidence to the contrary. He should be presenting and telling us how each one is his favorite action figure. His boyish charm does the brand well.
Thwipp!
Is PulseCon even a live show? I know they kind pretend it is, but I'm guessing everything has been pre-recorded for a while now. And they just assemble it to feel like a live event. Lenny could be part of the Joe portion, even if he no longer is on the brand, if the segments were prerecorded before he was let go (if he was).
Holy shiznit. I ordered 3 Grunts at $11.99 from Target and they all showed up. Sometimes the toy gods smile.
Pretty sure it's pre-recorded, but if Lenny's is no longer at Hasbro it'd be incredibly sad given his passion with grounding and developing this line. I did hear that that sculptor guy that was let go is back contracting at Hasbro.
BBTS with a surprise Firefly drop. I didn't get a processing soon email like I did with Low-Light. It's kind of a pain when BBTS gets these figures individually. Low-Light dropped yesterday, Firefly today. Should I ship Low-Light and Firefly or wait? I guess I'll wait until Monday, but I'd rather get them moving now.
Grunt is in the area according to Popfindr, but a little too far out of the way.
I drove to the only Target within my area which was showing Grunt as being in. They wouldn't him out of the back due to him having a reset date of 10/1. So even if you find a store which has him, they may not sell him to you.
Apparently Dan Larson (Toy/Secret Galaxy) and some TF YouTuber are a part of PulseCon in some fashion, because Dan's been posting about it on his IG for the past few days.
Also, I snagged a regular Copperhead at a semi local Target to me for $17 clearance. I wasn't going to get him at full retail, but for that price I jumped on it.
"Frack, this 'Cobra Tracker' is so junky! It says they're right in front of me but I can't figure it out!"
Grunt turned out to be a gem. His colors, the extra helmet, and his unobstructive vest are all killer. I'm so glad he can ab crunch even with that vest, he's putting the early figures to shame. His un-helmeted head sculpt is a little goofy; the jaw line looks really overdone and he looks like an old baby. His helmet doesn't fit very well, either. The only other issue I have with him is that his weapons are soft. His guns bend from the second hand holding the barrel, which is always annoying. I think many were attracted to this figure for his guns, so that's a bummer. With that said, I'm having a ton of fun posing this guy. YMMV if this sort of look appeals to you, but to me it screams "faceless protagonist" and I can't help but feel like I'm posing myself if I were a Joe.
Received Snowjob today, and for the price I can't complain as he looks great, plenty of accessories, and the paint apps are all on point. The only thing I might suggest that he had come with would be a satellite phone or some sort of radio for obvious reasons. I managed to get in an a single Eel via Amazon when it was up, so at least I have that coming sometime in the next year as well. I doubt I'll buy any Arctic BATS though, while the visor is cool looking, I already have too many BATS and various other COBRA Army builders. Looking to be cherry picking the line from here on out. But Snowjob is a definite must in terms of quality.
On the one hand, I'm a big fan of both Dan Larson's and Thew's YouTube shows.
On the other, I just plan on fast forwarding through everything to see the reveals.
