I have no attachment to Iron Grenadiers, Mad Marauders, or reformed Storm Shadow... BUT, those Iron Grenadier troops look super-slick. So far, my interest in the line has been 100% driven by the confluence of figures I had (and enjoyed) and figures I never had but wanted. These IG troops are the first in the series to break that trend.
First off, that Copter looks bitchin'! It's so big. I'm so happy I got one, and I'm double happy we get Night Force Crazy Legs (one of my favorite figures as a kid that I got for my Birthday)
Second, I'm glad I was able to get all the Retro Card figures pre ordered today on Pulse. I got CC and Stalker, and x2 Cobra Troopers.
This Retro Card line is definitely my favorite since I like Classifieds that look as much like the ARAH figures as possible. I can't wait to see what it continues to bring over the years.
But man, I thought I'd try to stop getting vehicles, and for the most part I will. But as cool as the Dragonfly is, if this year's Haslab is the Cobra Rattler, I don't know if I can pass that up.
Why do people not like the Snake Eyes figure? I think he looks pretty cool. Gave him a gun holster and heated up his sword sheath to bend it the other way and now he looks better. But he does have this weird issue where his left shoulder is lower then his right shoulder. Is that common? Or did I get a bad one? I may tear it apart and try to see what the issue is, and fix it if I can. I do have the first release Snake Eyes on the way, since he looks like the best one they made so far. But this one isn't bad for $5.
I gave the wave 1 SE movie's head & feet, and it's my ideal SE.
The paint details, blast effects, and stand look great. Overall it's a nice chopper. I can't say I'm disappointed in how many stickers there are (even the stand!) because we knew there'd be a lot of stickers, but I can say I'd prefer an official tampo over stickers anyday. I dig the little foot holds on the landing gear; I'm going to put my Ninja Force dudes up there.
The figures for me are a mixed bag; Crazy Legs looks like a teenager and his expression is lacking personality. Glenda looks great bc Scarlett base body but the girl looks seriously stressed (mine will be wearing the helmet so it doesn't really matter). I'm interested to find out Crazy Legs' articulation since he has the upper body ball joint instead of ab crunch. He could turn out to be a real fun figure to pose. Rip Cord and Wild Bill look fantastic, no notes.
Side-note regarding the stickers, does anyone here seal their stickers with a brush-on application? I might mod podge them on or use a liquitex varnish. Can't stand when the edges of stickers get fuzzy with dust. Any recommendations are welcome; I usually just put a thin layer of mod podge on the back of the sticker, with a thin layer on top that I work at the same time and blend the edges out.
Dragonfly is stellar, agreed with all comments above.
I will say it is cool that they got Ripcord’s headsculpt to look so much like his ARAH counterpart and still like a “real guy” a la Classified. Also: Crazylegs’ “standard” repaint is going to be awesome: you can see all the specific details in the sculpt that will really pop in red/grey.
Man... I don't have room for the Dragonfly, so I guess I don't regret not buying the HasLab - but seeing them display each of the figures I really find myself wanting all of them.
I can probably satisfy myself with the RAH Cartoon deco Wild Bill - but the Night Force versions of Rip Cord and Crazy Legs I'm really going to want. And I'm definitely interested in getting that Glenda too. I don't know how many people are going to be selling off their figures and keeping their copter, but I'm hoping it's a few so I have a chance to pick up some of these figures.
I’m just starting to see this unboxing. My jaw is dropped.
Thwipp!
Yeah, I’m regretting not getting more than one now. Although I wouldn’t need a second set of figures. All the sticker options show how much customization can be done. Wish they had shown more of that during the campaign. During the campaign it was very much Wild Bill’s Dragonfly. Now it’s clearer that’s just one of the options.
@tenime I was thinking about doing that honestly. The helmet for the movie one looks nice and sleek. Maybe if I go back to Ollie's and he's still there I'll get another one to throw his head and feet on the comic SE. Maybe give a look see as to if any have their shoulders proper or oblong. I did tear his arms off to see what may be the issue, and I can't find one. The way it looks, the holes are both at the same height, and the shoulders both have the pegs in the same spot. The internals of the shoulders don't look higher or lower the each other. But then I put the arms back on and his left is still lower then his right. It's so odd. So I heated up the torso with the arms inside and adjusted them as best I could to be the same height. Probably bent the pegs a little but you can't see them so it's fine.
Ordered CC, Stalker, and 2 Troopers off Amazon. Would’ve covered my bases and ordered CC off BBTS as well, but he was already gone from there.

Try swapping the arms left-to-right, right-to-left. That might help you tell if it's the torso or the shoulder ball that's the problem.
Man, they really didn't mess around with the Dragonfly. I have been having MASSIVE worries about where to put it and all, but it's both terrifyingly big but not nearly as long as impossible to place in the collection as I thought it would be. I'm slightly... slightly less freaked out about my purchase. (I always go back to the fact that Galactus is still in his Haslab box cos.. I got no room for him vertically.)
Wonder how long it'll be before we see Crazy Legs in red and gray?
Love how there was some half-hearted lies in there about possible parachutes or Night Force enemy forces down the line. "I don't know what he's talking about!" AKA "shhhhhh not yet dude!"
It's funny, after the post Chinese New Year Hasbro Deluge last month I was ready for a break but now that video has me checking the next round of preorders to see if they're delayed or on time... ready for some new Joes.
