Yeah, Snow Job arrived here today, too. So many accessories! Really nice figure.
What is that 11.99 insanity?
Snow Job arrived today, and what a great figure. I was expecting him to come with even more stuff, like the Pursuit of Cobra era figure did. But this guy comes with just enough. I messed around a little, just loading everything onto his pack. Didn't even pose him using the ski equipment. He also takes up so much room on my shelf with that thing. I am RAPIDLY losing space on that shelf. But at least he really feels like a deluxe offering.
Got in an order on $12 Grunt, but I don't expect to receive it. Desert SE coming from Amazon tomorrow, Tunnel Rat coming on monday, kamakura delayed but likely arriving soon, plus hopefully some walmart figures arrive this month...expensive month! Gotta be HISSTANK time soon, too! I remember having space for it when I backed it, but not anymore, lmao.
Snow Serpent's shoulders have some drop down movement for a little more clearance below the fur collar.
I hope this is the norm moving forwards. That disc joint in the shoulder used in newer McF figures is my favorite POA on those toys...would love seeing them on Joes. If they add that, keep the drop-down hips tight, and keep the faces looking good, we should be very happy with upcoming figures. My only other hope is that they stick with stiff guns, like Snowjobs, not like the gummy ones we're getting lately that seem to never un-bend.
I almost forgot about the Big Ben I ordered yesterday from Walmart. He was supposedly in stock for delivery tomorrow, but that doesn't appear to be happening. He remains in the order "placed" stage.
Snow Job is one of the few preorders I've kept as I try to slow down my spending, and boy am I glad I did. He is just fantastic, and really does feel worth the higher price tag. Really, really impressed with him and continue to be blown away by this line!
My Snowjob arrived today, also. He is awesome! The elevated price is certainly easier to digest when the figure feels so premium. The plastic doesn't feel gummy, he looks great, the head sculpts and accessories are all fantastic.
The only disappointing aspect is that I thought you would be able to put the snow shoes on, and then plug the figure with the snow shoes on into the skis, but it doesn't seem that this is doable. This is the way the art looks on the box. It looks a little silly when you plug the figure directly into the skis. But this is a minor nitpick. If I'm wrong, and this is possible, please correct me.
Snowjob and Torpedo are two of the best figures of the year so far, IMO.
Got my Bubble yesterday and got Snow Job today so it’s been a good weekend for Joes.
Tried playing around with that Fortnite glider stand for the Bubble, including hot gluing the socket onto the bottom of the flight pod, but the socket just wasn’t strong enough to hold the whole thing up with a figure inside. Too front heavy. So I went with my old stand by and it probably worked better. Just a could hooks and some fishing line. This way I could hang it wherever I wanted and however low I wanted so I could actually look at it and appreciate it. Stuck the Cobra Officer inside for now. Not sure who I want to permanently fly it in the future since I’d like a couple Televipers to stand with all the other troop builders.
@marvellegendsman I tried to do the snow shoes + skis combo because of the box art as well, couldn't figure it out. I agree, if there's one weak spot, it's the skis-boot connection. Not only are they fairly loose (on mine at least) but there's nothing in the back and barely anything on the front to fit his boots, they could have looked a lot neater and the backpack would still be able to hold them just fine.
The python patrol 'trub bub' is growing one me. i would do a repaint and take off just the yellow
Dang, missed out on that $12 Grunt, that would have been a good score.
Re:Trouble Bubble
Tele Viper was my first GI Joe so it's good to see him. That said, I don't like what they did with the arms. Two different head ethnicities wasn't completely necessary, IMO, but if they wanted to do that, then work out some other solution than painting his skin black.
The Trouble Bubble itself needs a stand. I have my vintage one on a stand from Display Stands Direct, so maybe they'll get around to one for this too.
$10 less for the PP version (the exact same product painted differently) is just another example of Hasbro's highly suspect pricing.
I don't know. I'm going to wait on this one.
I felt the head choices made a C or D list character slightly more interesting and I'm currently using the darker skin tone. Sure, the sleeves are different from the original, but someone like Snow Job deviates even further from ARAH, imo.
I understand the sleeves caused an uproar and a couple YouTubers even exchanged fightin' words, lol.
They should have just stuck with caucasian skin for the Televiper because there's no way a villain would have brown skin. It's the whites that are evil. (THIS IS SARCASM)
At least those who want a classic look can steal some Falcon arms. I don't have Televiper but I like the black sleeves with the fully-masked head look the best.
Well I've said often that I don't NEED these figures to be exact recreations of vintage looks. If they wanted to do sleeves for the Tele Viper, I'd have been fine with it, I just don't like how this came out. It smacks of, "This was the cheapest, easiest thing for us do".
I'm guessing a flesh-colored arms Televiper will come out as a single card somewhere down the line. Maybe on a retro card. Personally, I don't care about having short sleeves or long sleeves on the figure. Same as what they did with the Viper. Works just fine for me as is.
One of my Trouble Bubbles (haven't opened all of mine yet), has the HUD printed off center on the canopy. Slightly annoying. I'm using a clear riser step for the Bubble. I sometime turns them on their side to use as flight stands. Will have to take a pic later.
