Here's how fast I am to pull the trigger on Snake Eyes variants - I never even NOTICED the weirdness with the sidearm stuff. Admittedly he never went onto the display because I decided, while I liked the color variance in his pants and body armor, I really didn't like his Rubik's Cube style grenades on his bandolier so he's in been in storage mostly. But as vicious7171 said above, even their worst SE is pretty good. I get overwhelmed sometimes swapping out my display with which SE to have in the lineup (I rotate versions of characters like him who have a bunch of variations). Just too many good ones to easily decide.

Man, that reminder about the Slave Leia figure - I remember seeing ROWS of her at Target but I wasn't collecting Black Series at the time, and when I started collecting, I had to resort to a pretty bad used one on eBay to fill in the collection because she'd shot up in secondary/tertiary market value. I swear that's why if I have the cash and I'm on the fence about a figure, I tend to pick one up in the first few months they're released, especially if they're a character who sells well. (Running joke is if I even THINK I want a Spider-Man version, I get one, cos if a Spidey spikes in value he tends to stay there. Haven't really run into that with Classified yet but I suspect we will with some of the figures, especially those first few waves.)

About a month ago, my sons and I were  going through my storage and organizing things. My oldest found my wave 1 classifieds that were bought with that cardboard display stand they had at Walmart. Totally forgot that I bought it. While looking at them, my son noticed the Joe Pros all the figures had and asked me if they stopped doing that. I honestly could not answer him. I don’t think I heard anything from Hasbro officially stopping the Joe Pros. But I don’t think I remember any recent Joe figures that are not a repaint that have the Joe Pro. Did Hasbro low key stop doing them?

Shockwave was the last to have it. It was a nice touch on the modern designs that they should keep going, or at least pack one in for the wrist.

Shartimus doesn't get a watch from me because I hate the name "Shartimus."

QFTMFT

And Robo is my favorite YouTuber period, and I watch a lot of different content (horror movies, ASMR, comedy).

There's one Valaverse shill whose channel name I can't remember that was complaining that the Crimson Strike Team was "made up" and an exclusive. "A Crimson Baroness? Now you're just doing things to do them." Like, bro, first of all, Crimson Baroness was ALWAYS a thing, and that's exactly what an exclusive should be - a variant of a character they already released or could release later (like maybe putting blue jumpsuit/orange vest Wild Bill with the fing HasLab instead of the fing default version, you f***ing @$$holes!?) like Tiger Force Bazooka & Recondo.

@classifiedcustoms Nice. At least they are still doing them on a case by case basis. I guess we’ll see in June if any of the new reveals will have the JoePro. I agree they should keep the Joe Pro going for the Classified modern designs. A wrist attachment or even an armband of sorts thats removable would be nice.

I am so happy that the GI Joe team was responsive to customer feedback and corrected course on the style of this line.

You mean were bullied by manchildren who can't take their nostalgia goggles off, and ruined good modern updates to old awful designs?

Ah the classic vs modern debate. Neither side right or wrong. My answer is to buy both if possible.

I am 10000000000000% of the mind that everyone should be happy, everyone should win.

Unfortunately, too much of humanity, especially "cartoons I grew up with" people, are only "me, me, me, screw everyone else."

And they won. They bullied Hasbro, and Hasbro buckled. Modern got screwed.

@tenime that's why i barely buy transformers anymore.  thankfully it does seem like classified is giving us both modernized and classic-inspired figures.  i'm glad Retro is it's own line, and hope they continue it and keep the mainline figures at least somewhat modernized.

EDIT:  if anything I'd dig if the modernized versions went even further like a lot of the PoC designs.

Now that Walmart has released it’s slimy fingers on the retro line and now everyone can carry it, I had hoped that the retro will will be where the classics are at while modernized will go to Classifieds. It seems Hasbro is trying to find that balance of modern but still retain some classic looks to each figure in the Classifieds line.  No doubt fans will have different opinions on that.  I did want classic Storm Shadow first but that Yakuza version they first showed is now very interesting to me. But before that V2 is still a must for me. And they need to make an apology figure of Amazon exclusive V3 Storm Shadow. Gawdammit there was so much fail in that figure I keep forgetting it’s exists in my collection.

Still hoping that once Target is done with TF and PP, perhaps a new exclusive line of Earth 2 WW2 Joes can be made. Pipe dream but whatever.

So anyway, looks like the Ferret may be shipping soon.  I've seen some in hand pics, probably overseas.  I'm already hurting financially from two waves of Marvel Legends and MOTU stuff hitting all at once, but bring it on I guess, because I'm really looking forward to it.

This is, of course, the correct answer.

Or be happy both were made? I'll be buying retro Scarlett whenever she hits clearance so I can slap the head on Cover Girl and use the body for fodder. Other than the colors on them, I was perfectly happy with wave 1. I'm just as happy the retro line is an option now. I grew up on the OG designs, but I welcome the updates.

Question for those of you wanting modern updates....Why?

If the old designs aren't your cup of tea in Classified, why bother with the same character just in a new costume?  Why not brand new characters and a new lore.  No more Duke, Cobra Commander et al, but something like a complete reboot just as when ARAH took over from Adventure Team.
