Yeah, ultimately I’m just not interested in “internet videos”. My sister always sends me these “TikToks” and I just can’t watch them.

Yea me too, i hate tik tok. they should change their name to Tik Cringe. Ill be happy when its gone in January.

Here's a borderline bad figure I'd like to see in Classified. This little gem arrived yesterday.  My figures and my younger brother's figures are lumped together.  He had several Ninja Force figures, but not this one for some reason. Scarlett has no other ARAH figures to pull into Classified, right?

My carded Scarlett looks like she's trying to hide her dreaded T-Crotch.

Nothing officially released as part of the original run.

However there are a bunch of other versions of her that have been released over the years that could see a release in Classified.   Though I wouldn't be too keen on most of them.

Some that might be interesting:

1997 multi-pack version.   This version is the same as the original, but the costume colours are darker (more orangey and purple).

Comic 3-pack "Arctic" Scarlett.  This was an all white version that came with SE and Kwinn.  It looks like they used the Jinx mold in white with a Scarlett head.

Pilot Scarlett.   Hey they did her in 25th/ME and the Skystriker Haslab so why not in Classified to get another Scarlett in the line?  She seems to have been a popular take on Scarlett and frankly I like this version of her.  The only problem with that is we have Glenda coming with the Dragonfly the Joe team may not want to muddy the waters with a Scarlett that looks pretty much the exact same.  However since Glenda is only available with the Dragonfly maybe they'll do a Scarlett to get that look out to more collectors.

@red_ogre They were either glued down or one molded piece. Either way, it sucked. Except for the sword, it almost made it seem like Hasbro wanted you to use all the other fortnite weapons he came with, which was a lot , but not the normal knife and sidearm. It was very odd considering all his other versions beforehand had removable knife and sidearm already. Not sure what prompted Hasbro to make them stuck because that would be an extra step/cost in the production run. Overall the figure is not a bad variant but it will definitely make you squint your eyes at the decisions concerning the side weapons.

@supercamel-1982 It’s too bad the forums don’t have a marketplace or PM like the old one. I could have gave you a lead on an unopened Vamp for just cost and shipping. I actually ordered one extra Vamp that I did not really need and have been in talks with a local collector to buy it off me but he’s flaking so far and it’s been a week with no response. I’ll give him another week and try to find a new buyer.

@leor I forgot about the knife/pistol debacle with Fortnite SE.  I have to imagine that was something trickled down from Epic Games because they absolutely retooled both the pistol/pistol holster and the knife sheath.  It didn't make any sense, either; they remolded the pistol holster and left the silencer slot on, but filled it so it doesn't have a hole any more.

Here's where it gets really goofy:  This is exactly how the Fortnite model looks.  It has the bigger pistol, it has the silencer slot with no silencer.  FWIW I think you're dead-on with Epic not wanting Fortnite SE to be able to use non-Fortnite SE weapons.  It's like McF DC lines, licensing ruining toys for us.

In any case, Fortnite SE was a learning experience for me, to closely examine Classified's product photography.  I remember seeing he had no silencer, and that combined with the deluxe price was enough to pass.  But even their worst SE is still pretty good, imo.  If Classified never existed and Fortnite SE was released by itself, we'd be bonkers for it.

It’d be funny if 20 years from now, the most sought after SE figure from the Classifieds line is Fortnite SE due to the sidearm/knife debacle. Like having reached Toybiz ML Toad status. Lol.

If Epic did make Hasbro modify the smaller weapons to be stuck, I’m betting Hasbro fired back and told epic to at least let the Katana removable. Or is his Arashikage katana actually usable in the game and therefore allowed to be removable?

@leor from what I've heard, he was readily available at that magical store "Ollie's" for $20 a few months ago so that seems unlikely.  lol.  and yeah the sword is absolutely usable, it's his melee weapon and actually sounds pretty cool in-game.

Something similar happened to ML Toad as well. He sat for the longest. Had sold at discount at a few places. Not just him but there are instances of other figures going to discount but many years later ended up being sought after. It’s hard to tell which figure will end up being that way nowadays.

in other observations, these new Retro card Joes have popped into quite a few of my Targets in the last 3 weeks. They seem to have sold well as they were all gone in a week or so and now my Targets are back to an abundance of Mutt and Junkyard and Metalhead. Still seea few Vypras and PP Copperheads still on discount at $7.49 out there too.

Yep Toad was heavily clearanced and I remember seeing a full bin of him at Kay-Bee toys before I got into ML collecting with the next wave.  Same with slave Leia in Star Wars Black.  Sometimes the most clearanced figures are the ones that end up being worth the most later, maybe because so many people slept on them and then regret it.

Yeah. It’s weird isn’t it. That something that was considered ridiculous for a toy can skyrocket it’s value later. Whether it be banned outfits or unremovable weapons, something causes the least desirable figure to be sought after.

Now I want Boy George Snake Eyes.

Yeah this hobby is littered with figures that nobody seemed to want and then once they are gone from retail they skyrocket in price.   One of the few constants in that regard is end of line, late wave figures.  Usually by that time the amount of figures being made is a pittance compared to the beginning, and as such those last few figures  don't get made in the same quantities.

Anyway, just received Scarlett from Amazon.ca and man-o-man is she awesome.  So glad they redid her in the original ARAH look.  Now to get Duke and Recondo.

After getting the retro Scarlett, it feels like the first release was never even really Scarlett and that this is the first time we have actually gotten the character in the line.  I am so happy that the GI Joe team was responsive to customer feedback and corrected course on the style of this line.  I can only imagine how different the line would look now if they were like Brian Flynn and dug their heels in.

Considering the weird crossover appeal and insane popularity of Fortnite, you guys may be right!  It's certainly a figure many snoozed on.

@leor

I appreciate that, but it's quite alright.  It's my own fault I don't have a VAMP.  I pre ordered it the first time it went up then cancelled my order.  Then the second time it went up, I saw it was available while pre ordering the new stuff that day, and just chose not to do it.

The reason I never got it was really because I didn't know if I wanted the VAMP vehicle.  I want Clutch, but I don't want a bunch of large vehicles taking up a lot of my space, when I mainly like the figures most for GI Joe, then have other lines I collect that I love more where I know I'll need space for vehicles and castles (I'm talking He-Man)

I have bought some of the big vehicles.  I have the HISS Tank, and I pre ordered the Helicopter.  But I may sell the vehicles and keep the figures.  I should have done that with the VAMP.
