Okay, somebody needs to give details on the YouTube feud. I can't even imagine what something like that looks like.
@fletch Bascially a Youtube channel (Viper Island) which unfortunately is Canadian based (sorry), has been taking content from other channels and claiming it as his own. Then also doing copyright claims/strikes against some of these channels after getting called out.
The most egregious/newest are with the 3POA Podcast and A Toy Kinda Mood. For 3POA Ryan, who runs it, was the one to post the pic of the Nemesis Immortal prototype heads from a source. Viper Island allegedly posted the pic without credit and then made copyright claims against Ryan on Instagram for posting the pic VI used to call out VI.
A Toy Kinda Mood had an interview with the Joe team at Comic Con and VI used the footage and allegedly made no mention of who did the interview and apparently went out of his way to crop out the guys from ATKM who conducted the interview.
So of course that has lead to a lot of back and forth.
@fletch Viper Island using other people's images of leaks and not giving credit, then copyright claim striking any video that calls them out on it. at least that's what I've seen, not gonna pretend like I'm an expert on it.
VI is a well known villain in Classified community and it’s a shame the guy is the way he is. He did bring a lot of passion and his kid mirrored it in the videos too. But his channel does really crappy things so he digs his own hole. I wonder if he relishes the role of the heel.
But I honestly avoid Facebook groups in general. Facebook feels a star ship Captain flying their starship into the Neutral Zone to use a Star Trek reference. It seems a place that invites conflict.
Only a few more weeks to Yo Joe June!
Thwipp!
Do you guys think the VAMP will be offered again any time? It sold so well that you'd think they'd release it again. But I have no clue. I'd like to get one though.

Emily said somewhere (interview or socials or something) that it had had two releases and that they were done with it.
Well that blows. But it happens. I wish they'd release Clutch somewhere down the line, like on the Retro Cards or something. Because I really want Clutch more than I do the vehicle.
Thanks for the info though. I had missed Emily saying that.

That is current Emily/Hasbro talking. If the SW, TF and ML team are anything to go by almost nothing is off limits for a re-release. Whether that is in the near term, or a bit longer, who can say, but I imagine that the VAMP could see a re-release down the line. Heck even 2025 Emily may say something differently.
The sheer number of items the different brands have done straight re-releases of is pretty staggering and I don't think Joe is above a quick buck by re-releasing something. Especially since it requires nothing more than more factory time. I know I would love to see another release of figures like the Eel (in the numbered box, not retro) or Arctic Storm Shadow since they were exclusives and thus hard to acquire.
Thats true.
They do love the re-releases for those brands at Hasbro. So, hopefully they do the same for GI Joe.
I was just thinking, but I suppose they could even do a variation release/re-release by letting out the V.2 VAMP in the more desert kind of tan color with Clutch in matching repainted gear.
One way or another, I just hope I can get a Clutch figure.
I bet before June next year some variation of VAMP is offered. Now I’m not sure if it will have Clutch. Surely with people buying more than one EBay must have offerings of Clutch people are trying to offload. Nevermind. I just looked. Holy crap people are selling that thing for bonkers money. I cannot believe there is a Clutch only for $140. That’s crazy. Damn.

Drama aside, I found Viper Island to be a little artificial or over-produced, but 3POA and Analog Toys take a credibility hit with me as Valaverse house channels. Maybe I'm a little snobbish in the toy review channels I watch, though. It doesn't take a lot to lose my interest. Fer instance, I hear YoJoeJerk is good, but I can never get past his slutty thumbnails and Shartimus doesn't get a watch from me because I hate the name "Shartimus."
D Amazing and Robo are my top toy review channels, but I'm really coming to like Bee's Battleground and the occasional Kato's Kollection.
@fletch Yeah Analog and 3POA really do shill for Valaverse. Nothing wrong with that but they tend to go overboard on the negativity towards Hasbro and other channels. Plus a general negativity overall. I have looked over the Valaverse stuff online and it looks pretty good, and he does a good job on pricing compared to the current market. However the same problem arises with him. Too much negativity. If your stuff is that good, and you believe it is, then why continually bash the people and company you used to work with? Especially knowing they won't comment in return.
As to actual Classified. I am currently waiting for Retro Scarlett to arrive from Amazon.ca and then I will be down to 4 currently available items I am missing (Quick Kick, Mutt/Junkyard, Retro Duke, Retro Recondo).
Woof. All that drama and personality-focused nonsense is a major factor in why I don’t watch video reviews at all or “follow” any particular reviewer. Just give me some pictures and some relevant, on-topic text to read, maybe a 3-D turnaround. I try to curate my online experience to be influencer-free.
re: Nemesis Immortal, I’m very curious to see how the alt-head is colored, and just in general how they are going to approach the Cobra-La design aesthetics. I’m definitely here for cool monsters, irrespective of how they “fit” into the story.
@aceofknaves It's just another medium to be involved in regarding the toys we love. Granted it is different, but really we get drama here on the boards, and on other boards, from time to time. Facebook groups seem to the be same. I follow the ones I like, and most of them are much more positive about the hobby. I also like the live streams as it gives me some real time entertainment surrounding the hobby.
I was talking with a friend the other day, who doesn't collect, and we were talking about what we have been watching lately and I realized I hardly watch actual TV shows anymore. I still do of course, but I actually spend a lot more time now watching influencers and live streams. I don't know when that happened, but it was funny to come to that realization.
Yeah, ultimately I’m just not interested in “internet videos”. My sister always sends me these “TikToks” and I just can’t watch them. It always feels like folks are just trying to get “likes” or whatever and maybe it’s my neurodivergence but it just feels gross and attention-grabbing to me. The very term “influencer” creeps me out, because I don’t think anyone should be “influenced” by others. If I could eliminate “influencer” as a thing that exists, I totally would. I prefer the relative neutrality of text and still pictures. Also the voices and “persona” of many of them just grate on me; very much a “the loudest and crudest voices tend to get the most attention” kind of thing (“Shartimus”? Yuck city.) I feel the same way about “reality” shows. That said: I watch tons of scripted shows. I really only “admire” fictional characters: real people are too disappointing and obviously self-interested. I don’t think I’ve ever willingly watched a YouTube video of any kind, barring movie trailers and the like. I have been watching the Classified livestreams, and they are mostly OK, mostly because they are “professional” and no one is trying to be a “celebrity”.
Anyway, that’s my personal weird.
But yeah. Crazy stoked for Cobra-La and also incredibly excited to see ROAD PIG! He’s my guy. Well, one of my guys. Still need Zombie-Viper.
