Man... Devil Fish and Armadillo are definitely vehicles they can probably get me to buy... so I'll have to plan on whether I make room for two of each with the repaints or pick one over the other.Β Β Tiger Force Jinx and Dial Tone aren't unexpected.Β Β Personally I'm perfectly happy to see that sub-line keep rolling.Β Β
I'm not sure if I'm personally interested in any boats...that's kind of a hard sell, especially one that goes alongside my other tiger force figures.Β But I'm sure Hasbro can come up with some cool Tiger Force Torpedo or something that forces my hand to buying it lool.
I was finally able to catch up a bit on this line.Β I got Retro Duke, Scarlett, and Recondo. As well as the 60th Anniversary Soldier, Airborne, Quick Kick, Big Boa, Techno Viper x2, and Metal Head.Β So, I'm all caught up on everything but the VAMP.
Hopefully, they put it up again, if not no big deal.Β I'll either get Clutch on his own or just skip out.Β Due to the size of the vehicles and the space they take up, and the figures they come with, I've just finally made my peace with not forcing myself to be a completest.

If they do a Tiger Fish it would be the perfect spot to put in a TF Shipwreck repaint as well.

I was looking at my list just yesterday as well.Β I am still a good bit behind.Β
This past week (+) I picked up Techno Viper (x3 stupid gift card 😀Β )Β 60th Sailor and Soldier, Airborne and PP Trouble Bubble.Β
Of what has recently released I still need Quick Kick, Big Boa, Retro Duke/Scarlett/Recondo, Metal Head and Mutt/Junkyard.Β That doesn't count preorders of Retro Eel/Snow Serpent/Beachhead and the Ferret/Tiger Paw and HMS.Β All of which I did this week as well (against my usual preorder rule).Β Everything else (Gnawgahyde, TF 2 pack, etc) I stuck to my no preorder rule.
As for older stuff I am still missing 00 Snake Eyes exclusive, 06 Regal Cobra Commander variant, 14 Arctic Storm Shadow, 81 Eel, 96 PP Copperhead, and 97 PP Cobra "Officer".
I can't believe how far this line has come in 4 years, especially after the lackluster response to wave 1.Β Β With Wreckage and the Tiger Paw we are up to number 137 in the numbered series while still waiting for reveals of 128-136 (who is which number, etc).Β That doesn't include the Retro series and 60th either, with no end in sight.Β This time next year we'll probably be close to 200 in the numbered series with another 2 60th (Legacy?) and maybe a dozen more Retros.Β
Yikes!!
Β
Amazon was busy last night changing dates. Nothing major, all the July 16 dates were pulled in to July 3.
At least they did not change the date to a month or two early. That would have been bad.Β
I can't believe how much this line has grown either. It seems like the first two years a lot of us were saying and wishing they'd release more product.Β Now most of us are like 'slow down"!Β Because they are releasing product like crazy.
But it honestly makes me happy, because the more characters we get through, the closer we get to getting some of my most loved characters in Classifieds.
Characters like Blizzard, Scoop, and Captain Gridiron.
It sounds like you aren't too far off from being all caught up canprime.Β Are you a completest of this line, or are there characters you feel ok to pass on?
I just try to get every character that was actually part of the Classic RAH line.Β I try to be a completest in that way, but I am not a completest of the entire line.Β I didn't get characters like Agent Helix, Mole Rat, Shooter, etc.
But now I am trying to come to terms with the fact I might not be a completest even on the RAH style collecting I do.Β These vehicles they are releasing are large and take up space and I collect a lot of lines.Β So, I may have to miss someone here or there if they come with a vehicle i decide not to get.Β But I can always just try and buy the figures on their own or something.
@supercamel-1982 Right now I am kind of a completionist with Classified.
I am not going out of my way to get the few figures I am missing due to after market prices, and availability.Β However GI Joe has always been my favourite of all the 80s toy lines and even though it ebbs and flows I always come back to Joe.
Like most of us, I'm sure, I collect a bunch of different lines.Β However while I was more heavily into Star Wars Black Series and Transformers (probably my number 2) a few years ago I have really backed off of both lines in the last couple years.Β The only BS I have picked up recently have all been on clearance for under $20Cdn.Β Transformers is the same.Β I don't think I have even purchases a TF this year yet (that will change).Β
So for me right now it is Classified (number one) and then ML and MOTU (mostly Origins).Β ML and MOTU are mostly just favourites or rarities right now, otherwise it is wait for a sale/clearance.Β
When it comes to space I am mostly out of space right now so a bunch of stuff doesn't get displayed until I do another reset/reshuffle.Β That is a sign to make some more changes, however Classified won't get affected by that too much because I am still, mostly, all in on the line.
I just expanded to double the space I had allotted for Classified, and I'm already out of space again after adding the vehicles. The HISS takes up so much real estate. As do army builders. I'm only displaying half of the Cobra soldiers and Vipers, only two retro Crimson Guard as opposed to the full Crimson battalion I amassed with the red twins and Baroness. I don't even have the Air Chariot OR my unopened Dreadnoks in the display yet! Poor Fiona has never been displayed because of how much horizontal space she needs! I've got Joes standing on the VAMP like they won some kind of college basketball championship! I definitely cannot expand beyond the two shelves I've allowed, so something is going to have to be sacrificed to storage. (pics are in the Show Us Your Shelves thread).
lmao at Joes standing on the VAMP like they won a college bball tourney!
The Cobras, for me, aren't really an issue.Β I feel like they all look good together, so even if space is tight and you cram them, they still look pretty neat.Β It's the Joes I struggle displaying.Β Most of them have olive green so it really makes those without it stand out.Β So I try to cram all the ones with khaki or desert themes together.Β But then you have oddballs like Retro Gung Ho, Helix, Shockwave, who kind of stand out in a bad way (imo).Β One random Winter fig in Snow Job almost needs his own display.Β Torpedo and the Action Sailors (band name) call for their own spot.Β Next will be a big space for the helicopter.Β It's just snuck up on me, is all.Β I was over here thinking Cobra was my prime Classified collection but the Joes caught up with one great release after another.
Yeah, the only reason I am considering the gridiron props Vamp upgrades is because they make it easier to fit several more figures on it. Two for the amount of shelf space it requires is not going to cut it.

Meanwhile, the Dragonfly just looks on and laughs.Β
Dont know where the confusion comes from, but the teardrop tattoo used to mean you spent time in prison and/or committed one of several violent acts. It seems like itβs a lot more popular now and the meaning had been diluted by a bunch of other people getting them because they think theyβre cool. It makes sense for MetalHead to have one. In fact, the Joes should probably have more tattoos if weβre bringing this line into the modern age. People with these jobs are always getting sleeve tattoos.Β
