The original Wreckage was released in a set with Tiger Force Big Brawler, Stalker, Jinx and Dial Tone. I wouldn't mind getting all of them, but they'd have to make a retro-styled/non trailer trash version of Jinx first before sidewaysing her into Tiger Force.
I missed the Target preorder but I’m sure I’ll find it in store. I don’t think lower production will be an issue for finding it. Maybe finding it on a discount being more difficult.
So last Target offering was all Python Patrol with vehicle/driver and two figures. This next Tiger Force will be the same. Maybe Target will be moving to a new exclusive after this. I know there are more Tiger Force they can do but they have done quite a bit. I wanted another Python Patrol vehicle repaint. It’s striking. I could see an offering repainting the COIL and the Valkyrie. Maybe Hasbro has another small to mid sized vehicle to reveal that will fit the bill for a repaint. I wouldn’t be surprised by VAMP repaints but would think it would be Tiger Force.
I wonder what new sub-team they might adopt for exclusives. Iron Grenadiers seemed a good fit but those are mainline. Maybe Target just gets more random repaints for a bit. Maybe they don’t repaints at all and get vehicle and driver options like FANG and pilot or Skyhawk and pilot. I could see that happening. Maybe they just do two packs like Baroness and Destro or something.
Thwipp!
@prophet I think if Target is happy with the current deal regarding exclusives we'll see a lot more TF/PP releases rather than going into another subgroup. They still have a number of old school ARAH TF repaints to get to for figures (including figures they haven't even made yet in Classified). Just from the original run we have Lifeline, Frostbite and Skystriker. Then there are the international releases: Blizzard, Hit & Run, Psyche-Out, Sneak Peek, Tunnel Rat, Air Tight (Ar Puro), and Shipwreck (Marujo).
That doesn't count any other releases over the years after ARAH. The same goes for Python Patrol. I mean that Croc Master mold is just sitting there and I could see Hasbro wanting to get some more use out of it so why not the PP version from the 25th/ME era? (even though it will probably shelf warm like crazy)
If they do that they have at least a couple more years worth of exclusives to release. Not counting any surprise releases they might throw in as well.
As for new subgroups as exclusives, I'm not sure which group I would want to see next. Mainline has done pretty much all the other big groups (Dreadnoks, Crimson, Mad Marauders, Steel Corps,Iron Grenadiers coming) and Walmart seems to have Night Force. So what's left? I guess maybe Cobra Night Watch? Definitely not interested in Eco-Warriors or Ninja Force as a separate subgroup exclusive. I kind of like the new Bludd Hounds from the Skybound comics and a subgroup based around Major Bludd might be interesting.
Any way they go is fine. I mean we are really spoiled for choice right now.
Do we now have to sit around like a trained monkey waiting for a Preternia or Toyshiz Instagram post to announce a preorder?
A monkey sitting in front of a laptop, refreshing a Target page is cute though 🤔
Since they have no problem with international recolors (Tiger Force Outback) there are still a ton of other tiger force figures they can do.
I have really been trying to cut back on this line due to space constraints, but damn if I didn't jump on Wreckage and the Tiger Paw.
Do I really need the set? No, but I really like his look. The ATV is cool too I guess 😉
I don't care about Wreckage, but i did have a tiger paw as a child. Never had an original ferrett, only the tiger paw.
I still want a Tiger Force or Night Force Lieutenant Falcon repaint but with new/younger looking head. I think it will sell well just on the replacement head alone.
Yer design is kinda mid 😜
On an actual topic... has anyone seen the Python Patrol Copperhead hit discount at Target yet? I actually like the look of that figure with the second head from Python Patrol Cobra Officer (97) from the same release and I'd like to get a couple more but there are a bunch hanging on the pegs at my local Targets so I'm waiting for the clearance prices to start, but no joy yet. I picked up a few extras of the last Python Patrol Officer (56) on clearance and wouldn't mind a head swap or two between those as well.
Being able to mix and match the skin color, mask color, helmet color and uniforms to vary the ranks is fun - but army building is much better when it's cheap.
@panthercult PP Copperhead is one of the few figures I haven't bought yet (along with exclusive CC, PD Destro, and retro Zartan). I haven't seen him on clearance, but I think he was included in one of Target's recent sales. Speaking of Copperhead, I feel like the regular version was released too soon because a Water Moccasin doesn't seem so outrageous now.
There is no reason they won't make TF and PP versions of every figure.
I require a Cobra NIGHT-RAVEN with at least two STRATO VIPERS as the next Haslab.
That is all.
On the note of sales and Hasbro overproducing, it's really annoying to know that Hasbro only mentions overproducing and never mentions how the figures that went on deep sale were also ones that hit right around the same time the prices went up. Never mentions how maybe $25 was just a lot of money for people to spend over and over again. $20 was such a nice sweet spot, I'm still a lot more judgmental of figures knowing they cost that little extra.
Mostly just wanted to chime in and say that I'm down for more and more TF repaints. Especially Yellow Snake Eyes, and I'd love a Shipwreck with a yellow shirt and black pants. Give Polly a fun repaint too. As for Python Patrol, I'd love repaints of Croc Master/Fiona, Techno-Viper and Big Boa.
It's been kind of fun amassing my Cobra Troops into factions - I have the main Cobra faction - blue clad cobra troopers with some of the other adjacent troops (techno viper, alley viper); Then having the Crimson Guard faction all decked out in red with the Crimson Twins and Crimson Baroness in front; then the Python Patrol troops arrayed - currently I have Major Blood leading them but that could change and then finally the Dreadnoks. The Arctic Bat and Snow Serpent are currently off by themselves biding their time...
I agree that the $25 price point feels prohibitive for army building - so my rule is two generic troops maximum at full price. If I find any more on sale for less than $20 I can pick those up. It's also helpful for just keeping the number of figures in general slightly sane (maybe... a little)
And if they keep making Tiger Force repaints I'll probably keep buying them. Definitely for Python Patrol, I love those yellows and greens man...
On IG Beesbattlegrounds is teasing more Tiger Force in Jinxand Dial Tone. Also a Tiger Fish repaint of Devil Fish. So I guess Target is trucking along. He also teases Armadillo and Mad Marauders repaint. There’s also Cobra La teases. So I bet this is coming from the info possibly coming from the interviews the Joe team is doing now. So Devil Fish and Armadillo is cool. I’m sure these are 2025 teases. Maybe some for 2024.
Interesting.
