Got Duke yesterday - I was perfectly happy with the modern version of him, but this really is a fantastic figure. Love the retro-accurate gear he comes with, too. Makes me think we've got to see a retro Flint soon too (which will make the cheap and dirty custom I made redundant, but if they do this good a job, no complaints here).

Man I hope so, as well as Dusty and Falcon. All three were big favorites as a child, but pretty much the three bottom figures in this line.

Dang, I still think Flint is pretty good.  Spin his boots around and he's fairly close to his retro look.  I certainly wouldn't put him with Falcon and Dusty.  I'd put Ninja Force Storm Shadow or wave 1 Scarlett below Flint.  Maybe it would be fun to make our "Bottom Five" figure lists, lol.

@vicious7171 I actually really like the current Flint, just didn't like the vest he was wearing since I like the classic black shirt look. I ended up cutting the vest off and like him better without it, but it was such a simple fix I could really see them re-doing him after I'd spent the money buying a spare to cut the vest off of.

It's funny, I don't even think I have a bottom five of this line - the only figures I've actively disliked have been ones with stuck joints (first version of Firefly, multiple Lady Jayes, I swear 3/4 of my Vipers have stuck hips) but with fully functioning joints I'd still like those figures. Heck, I bought Spirit twice cos my first one had a stuck hip and he's an all-time favorite character.

What could they do to Dusty to make him that much more classic? Seems like a pretty faithful upscale from the vintage figure.

The one thing that made the vintage figure stand out, cloth goods on the helmet. Also, he needed a lot more face camo. I just don't see Dusty at all in that figure, i see 90's Duke.

Last week, one of the Target employees told me a case of carded Joes was arriving on the Friday truck. I made a special trip back to the Target near work on Saturday, but the truck was still being unloaded.  After looking around for a while, I could only find a Metal Head case.  I go back today and find an opened Retro case with one figure missing.  I can only assume it was a scalper or some non-Alpha male collector buying the only girl figure from the case and leaving the three manly men figures. I was so dejected I left without looking for Haulathon  or Street Fighter figures, then I get to my other Target and find only three out of four Ninja Turtles 🤷.

I don't know how to search this thread, but to anyone who was worried that Duke would have the same poor upper-torso articulation as General Hawk, don't fret.  Duke's upper body articulation is fantastic.  He has a ton of range, mine's smooth without being loose, he can nail a lot of poses.

I don't know.

It's the same with Eels.  I have the amazon exclusive downstairs on display and I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between that one and the upcoming retro without looking at them side by side.

This is one thing about this line I don't want to get too sucked into---buying a perfectly good figure in the standard line then rebuying it again as a "retro" release with only the most minor of minor tweaks all so I can say it's closer to the toy I had as a kid whilst my wallet being $25 lighter.  Not really interested in that.  Glaring differences are one thing (Gung Ho, for example) but a Classified Storm Shadow with white glove hands is every bit as good as Classified Storm Shadow with bare hands, IMO.

I think the retro releases for the Eel and Snow Serpent have more to do with offering a second chance on these harder to find exclusives.

@unclassified Glad to hear it is a good copy with no looseness.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to cave and get one soon just to fill the hole in my box numbering.  Then when the Retro one gets released I'll use that one for my figure display.

well, I only jumped due to the sale. Now they are like 33 on there but since the retro is coming amazon and Walmart 3rd party sellers lowered it to 32 33. Who's telling if they are from Amazon or not originally. But you can now get them there for a lower Price than the previous 39 ish the 3rd party sellers were trying for.

No loose joints. I can't say that I found anything wrong with the one I received so far except for what you enlightened me with and the accessory box. I'm so far happy with my purchase.  If the others suck when they arrive, I'll come back and let you know. I have 6 more showing up. 2 avs. Hope the avs are legit haha

the first target I found them at the scarlett was gone. Is she fetching higher money on the after market? These can be pre-ordered basically everywhere.  Did you try the target app and changing your store to check stock?

I wanna get another flint so I can make a proper one, but he's so pricey. Not sure how a peg warmer became a hot wanted item lol. Cheapest place I know is bbts for like 40 with lady Jaye. I can't pay 20 for a lady Jaye, hahah, so I don't.

I’m pretty positive that the only difference on the Eel is the color of the cord on the harpoon.

But I’m real happy with the Snow Serpent. Glad I didn’t get the deluxe one, really dig the toy colors.
