Recondo arrived today, and while I loved the original as a kid, this one doesn’t seem to impress me as much as the original did. It’s fine, but I think Tiger Force diluted it for me. Happy to have him, but thought I’d be happier. Maybe I’ll mix and match some gear with TF.
I got all in today from GameStop except Quick Kick and Retro card Duke. The Scarlett I received today looks great. I see no issues with the face printing.
Got Metal Head, retro Duke, retro Recondo, and Quick Kick in from Amazon this week. Grabbed Mutt and Junkyard using the over $30 toy discount at Target. Of course Amazon pushed my retro Scarlett back to the end of the month. I see GS mentioned so I put in a quick pre-order with "availability" starting tomorrow. We shall see. Should still be in my grubby mitts before Amazon's estimate of the 18th. Some Targets are getting these in. I did see a lone Metal Head this week but no retro stuff. Saw a few of the latest retro SM MLs but being that Scarlett is the only one not currently available online, she'll be the primary target of the all my locals scalpers, I mean "fellow collectors!"

Exact same for me. I prefer the V.1 versions of characters since I had to rely on sub-team variants a lot as a kid. Coming into the line in 85/86 and had sparingly few in those early years. TF Duke was my default Duke and I longed to have that V.1 version! But characters like Recondo, Roadblock, Bazooka, Mutt, Copperhead and Spirit were all sub-team variants. However, even though this is the V.1 Recondo the TF version took all his steam. Felt the same with V.1 CS Bazooka and Dusty (honestly both Dustys are my least favorite figures in the line).
Airborne is really great. The human, flawed, feels-like-a-person way the head sculpts in this line look just always works so well. No frills figure who just looks wonderful in hand.
My Scarlett keeps getting moved around by Amazon - probably the first time in a while I'd pick her up if I saw her anywhere else rather than waiting. Looks like Duke shipped though.
I have 2 $0 holds and a full charge for my Scarlett so it looks like GS may win the race. Worth the $8 shipping if I can get her next week. I'm loving this new retro line. Even though Recondo is more bland to me, I loved the TF version, it's still a great figure. Only issues I have with Duke is that I'd personally have preferred the shirt to be a tad darker tan. This reminds me of the 25th Anniversary single-carded Duke that had the lighter shirt and JUMP pack. Other than that the peg hole on the back of the bandolier worries me. Very little plastic around the edges of the hole and I'm worried that too much fiddling will cause it to snap in half. I currently don't have it pegged to the back through the ruck pack peg just to be safe.
All that said, bring on Beach Head. Wonder if a more orthodox version of the 1985 ninja Snake Eyes is in the cards.
I picked up Action Soldier yesterday at Target. Then I brought him to returns with my receipt for retro Recondo, Scarlett, and the 97 Magneto I picked up last week and they adjusted the price on all of them so I could get the $20 off. It all worked out great!
Action Soldier is as good as we've come to expect from this line. When I opened him there was something that looked like a pistol but I wasn't immediately sure what it was. Turns out it's an adaptor piece for the MA deuce that you can switch out for the double handle grip. The double handle is for when it's on the tripod, the single grip is for when a figure his holding it. This extra effort and detail makes this line so fun and it something other lines wouldn't even bother with, even at the $35 price point.
The MA deuce went immediately to Roadblock and he is now officially complete. This line is a lot of fun!

I just got around to opening the Sailor/Diver and man is it kitted out and fun to mess around with. I love how many accessories it comes with and it does a pretty good job of evoking the feel of the original while being a modern iteration. I kind of want an orange suited version now to really throw back to the original line and give them the old school solid facial goggles and a yellow flotation piece as well. Can't wait to see how they do the other rumoured 60th figures, and to pick up the soldier soon.

The next two are supposed to be Action Pilot and Action Marine.
Those reveals today were underwhelming to be sure. Especially compared to the other brands.
I do like seeing the physical products so it was nice seeing the Eel, which I missed the first time around. The Snow Serpent and Beachhead both look great as well. All of them are going to be easy buys.
However that Ferret........HOO-BOY!!! That thing looks like a beast!!!! That is a wide base and some big ass tires. I wish they had a physical piece to show after the panel, but I can't wait to see more pics. Definite buy.
As others said, it seems Emily read the room and gave us the "Once a Man" name only reveal to try and keep the Joe reveals from being some of the weakest of the panel. I am interested to see how they are going to do him as a Classified figure and what kind of accessories they'll include. Maybe a full snake version of himself as well? That way they can sell the figure as "Figure and Pet" and ask more money.
The Classified reveals may not have stolen the show, but we all know it’s the best line Hasbro is producing at the moment, dollar for dollar. There’s no beating it once you have them in hand.

I didn’t know about the coupon until a day after, but went in yesterday and they were super helpful. Even considering the fact that I had to go grab something else from toys since I was 3 cents short of $75 with just the retro figures.
one eel just arrived. And yup, accessory box says Ell. Hahahah. But this thing I feel is legit and didn't make the cut due to the box. The brown paper ties were much softer than normal. I have the normal ones next to me as I save them to make stuff. The figure is solid. ab crunch is tight. Everything so far seems legit except for the box like you pointed out.Just got an eel for 28 and change at aliexpress. They allow you only one. Then got more for 30 a piece. They have codes for 5 20 and 40 off with targets to hit to get them discounts.
My vamp should be here tomorrow.

Just wondering if you could update us when the Eel arrives. On another board I frequent someone bought one as well and the discussion kind of agreed that it was a high quality KO.
The big giveaway was when they opened up the figure the locker box for the accessories said "Ell" instead of "Eel" and the pictures on the box were not as sharp as the Amazon exclusive version.
Also there are reports that the figure has joints that are a bit more loose than the original and the paint apps are not as sharp, especially around the face.
I'm tempted to get one as well, but I kind of want to hear other opinions before making a decision.
Odd only one just arrived. I ordered a few and alley vipers so I can reach my quota. I was going to return these if they were fake but only thing I feel here is that the box was a foul up and voided the entire run to be put on the market. So then the hasbro aliexpress guy that has a hasbro shop must get the odds.

he's the mastermind behind the typo to get figures to become duds and then takes them and sells them for retail or higher depending on the demand of the figure when it hit the US. Idk? I'm confident that this eel is authentic. The box even seems legit. I don't have another eel box to compare, but I have a buzzer and it's pretty on point. I'll be keeping these. Thank you for bringing this all to my attention prior, so I was ready to read a box that said Ell and not flip out and start speaking Chinese to aliexpress again. But then again, last time I did that, I got my stuff for free, haha.
