You can also position the ammo boxes the long way with the bullets feeding out from the top (like Tenime, but the bullets feed out from the top end). There's a small plastic "lip" that they slide under and it holds them nicely in position. They should be snug against one another and centered in the middle of the shelf.
XManny87 shows what I'm talking about in his video here.
@mrboshek I never would've noticed the discrepancy in the promo photos - I kept looking for a way to snap the cases on like in the first photo (and the instruction manual). Funny how designs evolve during the process.
I actually sent a pic of the VAMP to a friend who only collects a few Classified and all I got back was "IS THAT THING 1/12 SCALE???" and now I feel bad not telling him about it before Pulse sold out.
I absolutely will. Now you got me reluctant, haha. I have gotten things in the past from there like a outback hulk on the awesome hulk buck. And another hulk I was missing nd they were high quality ko. I know cause the outback came on a movie buck. I highly recommend them to all. I got some flames for a red hulk and it seems they were made out of hot glue. Thats my opinion on the material. I'm confident that it's hot glue. That I do not recommend.Just got a eel for 28 and change at aliexpress. They allow you only one. Then got more for 30 a piece. They have codes for 5 20 and 40 off with targets to hit to get them discounts.
My vamp should be here tomorrow.
That's about all the joe news I got.
Just wondering if you could update us when the Eel arrives. On another board I frequent someone bought one as well and the discussion kind of agreed that it was a high quality KO.
The big giveaway was when they opened up the figure the locker box for the accessories said "Ell" instead of "Eel" and the pictures on the box were not as sharp as the Amazon exclusive version.
Also there are reports that the figure has joints that are a bit more loose than the original and the paint apps are not as sharp, especially around the face.
I'm tempted to get one as well, but I kind of want to hear other opinions before making a decision.
Grabbed 2 cobra commanders. Again, top tier, I honestly couldn't find flaws except the one had the wrong colored hands and think one hand may have been loose. I recommend them for those that missed out.
Got a amazon ss, and we'll, that was trash. Now they sell them for like 90. But I got.kine cheap. That was a ko. Backpack didn't plug in the hole the peg was too skinny or the hole was too big. If that figure was like 20 bucks, I still don't recommend unless they fixed it. I ended up with mine for free cuase I flipped out, I started speaking Chinese and only learned from a fortune cookie.
Man, I sure hope these are legit. You honestly got me wanting g to cancel. But alas, if they are cheap and loose and vividly fake, I'll get my money back. Thank you for your reply. I was honestly unaware of this.
My vamp arrives today. I doubt I'll open it. I till have a few things like the his turtle van and mondo panthor I still haven't opened. So it will join that pile lol. I need to watch some joe cartoons so I can get indore to make a motor pool dio shelf for my cobra vehicles. I honestly need to start drawing plans for my motuc display case for my castle and snake mountain, then I can make more room with crap.

I doubt this is the last we see of the VAMP. And if it is there is sure to be a cobra stinger, a tiger sting and a VAMP mk 2 which was just a stinger in dessert colors.
Certainly, they'll make more VAMPs. I doubt it's forever sold out.
Could be a second batch of Vamps for the fence sitters or those who did not have the funds at the time. However production is probably going to shift or already shifted for the Stinger and other repaints so it would not be a surprise if there are no more regular Vamps after the first run. Not sure if the first version will even hit discount if there is a second batch. Tax return season after all. Lol.
The VAMP is just so much fun. If I had to pick just one Classified "item" to keep, this would be it. All the little fiddly bits allow a variety of diorama displays of Clutch interacting with his vehicle. I can think of dozens of fun photo setups and things like scaled gas cans are a diorama collector's dream. Having them all store on the vehicle make the world of difference between this and say, Mindbender's extra parts that have nowhere to go if you don't already have toy-sized futuristic cyborg hospital shelving.
The only thing I would change on the VAMP would be allowing the black plastic on the back, where you place the turret, to be a storage that can be opened/top can be removed. While many guns fit perfectly next to the seats, I'd sure dig a place for Clutch's extra helmet with room leftover for whatever extras the character riding shotgun might have brought with on the adventure. Basically, a trunk, I'd like the VAMP to have a trunk.
Maybe Clutch needs to race Tripwire to the front lines for an emergency mine scan, is he going to carry M.A.C.L.E.O.D. on his lap the whole way?
Semi related to this thread because the Classified Vamp spurred my interest in other Vamps. Got this today, the Funskool MRF. Inexpensive and arrived in two days from a US seller. This is more Joe adjacent as it has no GI Joe branding or any action figures on the box.
I didn't want to clutter the thread with too many non 1/12 images, box art in the spoiler:
Man... you got me excited thinking that thing was for 1/12 figures.... super bummed it's scaled for 1/18 stuff.
But it did have me fall down a rabbit hole of cool 1/12 scale RC vehicles on amazon...
That stuff could get problematic 😀
@panthercult I just added those to my shopping list. Walmart had some interesting looking RC vehicles during the holidays that appeared to have enough room for a figure, but when you look closer, there's no leg room.
Good thing it's easy to pop off/on Classified legs lol. But for real, you could pop the legs off and use vehicles with no leg room and not even notice from most angles. Not ideal but if it's in a big collection and/or it's an extra copy of a figure, why not?
I can't comment about leg room in the cabin of the personnel transport - it may have the same issue but it would have to be pretty sizeable to be 1/12 scale. But the ATV and the "crawler" vehicle look like fun for sure.
