Got Pulse soon to be charge notifications for Big Boa, Quick Kick, Techno Viper, and Metalhead. Nothing yet on Airborne. Is he arriving late? Â
The Vamp has a pleasant heft 😀 . I would've preferred a gun closer to the original, but that's okay and about my only nitpick. Tooling a little box around the guns similar to the Ram might've been neat.Â

From what I have seen online so far it seems the guns are the biggest issue. It looks like the gun isn't completely stable once put in with the ammo belts feeding from the containers. That and not have foot pegs for someone to stand behind the guns.
Other than that it looks fantastic and I can't wait for mine to show up, hopefully this week.
Oh I also agree with some who wished they could have given us turning front wheels. I know it would have been an extra cost (probably) but it is a little funny that the steering wheel turns, but not the front wheels.
Â
The turret feels like the weakest link, too. Feels a little light and fiddly compared to the rest. I might glue it on because otherwise it pops off very easily. The only actual complaint I have, and I'm curious if it's that way for anyone else, but the black paint over the silver-painted headlights rubs off very easily. I'm going to have to redo it unfortunately.
Yeah, the peg attaching the gun turret to the vehicle just being a tiny little nub is a bit weird. It just pops off like nothing every time you try to spin it around. Not sure I wanna glue it and remove any chance of turning it though.
the us pulse? when are they billing?

I received GameStop alerts for Scarlett big boa techno viper and Recondo.
I cracked open the VAMP last night and I am legitimately stressed out at how much I like the vehicles, because I don't have the space for too many more. I'm already anxious about where I'll put he Dragonfly. I feel like I made a very goodbad life choice with that one. The VAMP is big but at least it fits tidily on a shelf.Â
There's some mild pivot on those wheels. Couple that with the working shocks and the real rubber (or at least plastic that has some grip) tires, you could lean into a turn pretty effectively. I was actually surprised and impressed when I tried it.Â
I'm considering alternatives to the twin machine guns in the turret. Wondering if one of the big Gatlin guns from either the RAM sidecar or Roadblock. Maybe even a modified Scrap Iron missile launcher could work (probably too big though). The one VAMP I have from the modern 1:!8 Joe line has a set of four missiles like the Snow Cat in the turret.
I would imagine people are hard at work on a gun alternative. Hopefully not too expensive.
Did anyone take the time to orientate the treads in the same direction? I didn't. It came up during Veeb's unboxing yesterday with Robo. It does look like the treads can match up a certain way, but it's such a minute detail, I'm leaving mine as is.
@mrboshek I had to laugh at how frustrated, sort of mad, Veebs was getting near the end. Too many jokes probably, combined with putting it together on the stream.
I think the wheels won't be noticeable to most people, but it seems that since the wheels can only go on one way it is probably best to pair them up based on that and then confirm the tread.
I'm still waiting for mine and not looking forward to setting up the guns.
One facet I've thought would be nice in any GI Joe line is weapon modularity for vehicles. Being able to swap out weapon systems between vehicles would be a neat feature. Also, if you could remove weapons and put them on bases/tripods for troops to use on the ground.  I can see someone designing alternate weapons for the VAMP.  And creating a ground base for it/them as well.
It would be neat if when the VAMP II is eventually released, the missile rack comes with alternate green armor parts (or just leave the brown armor parts black or grey) so you could put it on the VAMP I and swap their weapon systems. Just for variety.
@mrboshek They were produced to be directional, but they were assembled on the rims completely at random. All 4 of mine were exactly the same, so when you turned 2 180° to attach them, the treads on the driver's side were backwards no matter what. I ended up taking the 2 tires off the rim to correct them, but honestly it probably wasn't worth the effort.

That's what I suspected after taking a minute to look at my tires and probably why Veebs was so perplexed. It looks like I would need to take two tires off their rims.

Just opened up the anniversary Infantry troop. I am digging it waay more than I thought I would. I'm gonna have to get a second and grab the navy scuba steve one.
