I’m struggling to see much difference between the regular and retro Eel.
Once again, nothing but home runs from the Joe team. Everything looks absolutely amazing. I need Target to have another one of their "$25 off $100" toy sales, I'm starting to feel really behind with this line.
One thing that I'm starting to struggle with though: do I buy the updated versions of figures like Doc and Tripwire or do I just wait for the (seemingly) inevitable retro versions? Seeing the retro Snow Serpent makes me really regret that deluxe-priced purchase, and I'd really love a Doc without the bulky vest. A lot of the new updated details are super cool and well-designed but at the end of the day I'm a sucker for the looks that I grew up with.
edit: one slight disappointment: retro Snow Serpent doesn't come with his proper vintage accessories. I was really hoping for some more traditional snowshoes and of course his AK-47.
I don't think retro versions are inevitable for the newer figures.
I'm confused. So are Retro figures only sold at Amazon and Fan Channel outlets, or will they show up at Target and other brick and mortar retailers?
I always prefer the retro versions of the figures, but there's so much time in between the releases I find I get a lot of joy out of the modern versions before the retro releases. I had a blast displaying Duke and Scarlett for a long time but will swap them out for the retro versions when they ship, but don't regret buying the earlier ones.
Makes me appreciate that some of the non-retro characters are pretty darn close to the originals, like Shipwreck, Spirit, Mutt, etc.

I think they just used to be Walmart exclusives, and now they are not.
Not sure I buy Lenny's excuse for the 'Noks misspelling, but at the same time it doesn't seem like something he would get wrong.
That Beach head looks so much more Beach Headier than the previous one. Looks great.
Not seeing a lot of movement on Jynx's upper torso articulation in the photos...not a good sign considering how weak that articulation spot has been with female Classifieds. Night Creeper also has the upper-body ball joint so I'm curious how his articulation will hold up; it's not being engaged in the photos, either. Torch is my absolute favorite here. I feel like I'm obligated to buy the HISS Techno Viper; I like it, but the price is just so high. Oof.
I don't love the Night Creeper but I do love the hint that we're getting Night Creeper Leader! Hope he looks orange and gaudy as ever.

Agreed, I wish they would have dropped the figure and just charged a flat 50 for it. I don't need everyone to be color coordinated with the HISS tank.

Definitely the best Beach Head we ever got.
That Ferret and driver look so good! Definitely in for that set. Will get Beachhead to open and keep carded, but EEL and Snow Serpent are staying carded. Hoping they release a more classic looking Flint too. He seems like the last hold out on the more modernized designs.
Didn't realize there were new POs today. Just went with Jinx and Torch at Pulse. Would have gotten Doc too, but he's sold out. Will wait on Gnawgahyde because my Target is sitting on SIX Mutt/Junkyard sets. To me, they're the most iconic human/animal pair, and they are going no where at $45. Gnawgahyde is not among my most wanted Dreadnoks, so I will probably wait for a sale. Also no attachment to Night Creeper, so I'll hold off on that too.

Well his original file card does say he is illiterate so it does kind of fit for the character.
