Woke up at 5am to see Haslab for the first time.  Before reading any comments, my first reaction was the patches are an embarrassing insult as a tier and Wild Weasel looks huge in the cockpit.  Got to see if that second thought holds after I'm awake and have time for a better look. I was coming into this Haslab very unenthused.

Here I go again (on my own...ha)...

Rattler (less than 24 hours):

7,458 / 9,000 82.87% of funding goal with 45d 17h left.

So far so good. Could fund by today if we are lucky. Overall I love the package, but man that first tier is garbage. More expensive with less figures than previous Joe Haslabs? C'mon.

Hopefully that first tier isn't a downer that is slow to unlock.

Just about to hit 90% and 8,000 backers. Seems likely it will fund this weekend, but likely today even. The later than normal launch time is going to have some waking up today and backing.

Agreed on that first tier being garbage. That’s reeking of Rancor idea remains. Even that fake leaked Rattler had ground crew as a tier. I’d much rather have that than 1:1 replica patches. Very strange choice. That’s the kind of thing you add when you’re 10,000 over your final tier,  not the stating tier. Without the gunner, this feels incomplete. If anything, the gunner and patches needed to switch. I get making is work for Baroness but there are two seats in this plane and we need two butts for them ASAP.

Hasbro included a patch with a mail-a-away Steel Brigade.

Yeah, you paid postage and got a figure and a patch.  That’s ok.  This isn’t that.  I’m sure all tiers will be unlocked and backers will end up with three figures, which is decent.  But previous Joe Haslabs have all been less and included more figures.  I know Lenny loves this kind of fun little world building stuff but patches as a tier, let alone the first, is a big miss.  Like a previous poster mentioned, it feels very Rancor-y.

Those patches definitely feel like they should just be freebies and not take up a tier. Some people online suggested to make up for the tier 1 nonsense, Hasbro should offer a bonus figure once all tiers are met. Maybe if all tiers are met after a certain time point.

If I had the dough, this would be the first Haslab I'd back.One of my top 5 GI Joe vehicles, alongside the POGO, Night Raven, Firebat, and Hydrofoil.

Baroness looks way better than the original classified figure... Hopefully they have a planned retool to make this into a Sunbow-esque Baroness at some point.

I pray whatever vehicle they do next is something with more... visible figure space. As cool as these are, if we're going to have a vehicle this big, I want it to be something that can be a huge centerpiece with figures covering it from head to toe. The Warthog and Hydrofoil both come to mind first.

Still 11 shy but the app has marked the Rattler as funded. Under 24 hours is another huge accomplishment! The last one, the Star Wars cantina, took weeks to hit funding at only 8,000 backers. It’s crazy how much better Joe is selling right now.

It's the patches.

Obviously the Rattler funded so quickly because people are desperately to unlock those patches. That junk drawer in your kitchen isn't going to fill itself, after all.

Well another Classified Haslab in the books early. Funded and, to my surprise, the first tier is almost unlocked already. I guess the prominence of the Rattler at SDCC is really pushing the numbers hard. I did expect a slow down due to the underwhelming first tier, but if they can get past it this weekend (most likely) then it shouldn't be too hard to get the other tiers unlocked.

Overall I still wish that we were able to unlock 4 figures, especially with the slightly higher price, but it is what it is for now. Still love the look of it, and finally saw a pic of the team putting it in the display at SDCC and man it is much bigger than I pictured in my mind.

@theknightdamien the patches will look fantastic in the drawer with all of my TMNT Loot Crate crap I was forced to buy to get Neca figures.

The patches have unlocked!  All of you who were waiting to back because you wanted to make sure you would get the patches can go ahead and do so now.

Patches won’t sink the Rattler. It’s not comparable to the failures of the Star Wars team and the bad word of mouth and lack of confidence from potential backers.

I find it interesting the Rattler is shorter and not as long as the Dragonfly. Will it look underscaled? Will the width of wing span help with the illusion of size?

This shortened scale has me confident they can do the same for Sky Striker in the future.

I was a backer for $325 even if it didn’t come with extra figures. But I know it will. Besides the patches and Rattler itself hints at a Joe tank to come.
