It would be interesting if they pivoted away from a ‘big vehicle’ this year, like Star Wars is doing with the Catina, and do something different like the MASS Device or Weather Dominator. They have to cover those at some point, but would they need to be Haslab items? Could they even do a build a device thing like they’ve done with the 4” figures in the past.
I just haven’t felt the Rattler is for sure going to be the Haslab this year for some reason. A few subtle hints certainly make it seem likely but when Lenny said a Sky Striker be like 6 feet long, jets have seemed unlikely to happen. The Dragonfly is nearly 3 feet long and I can’t seem them getting much bigger than that. Would a 3 foot jet seem too stumpy to work?
@buttmunch, the Rattler toy itself was actually relatively small and the same size as the Dragonfly. If they stick to those old dimensions it'd be comparable.
But you bring up a point that if they do stick to the same scale it might be dissatisyingly dinky.
@fletch Lenny did mention during the Stinger unboxing that the dimensions don't scale up one-for-one when going from ARAH to Classified for vehicles.
So maybe Rattler won't be quite as big as we expect?
I'm hoping for a wrestling style swerve with a different vehicle unveiled as Lenny and Emily laugh maniacally into the camera.
"It was a BUGG, a BUGG all along!"
@canprime he said the Stinger wouldn’t be ‘twice as big’ as the original, which is true as 1:12 is not twice as big as 1:18. Going from 1:12 to 1:6 would be doubling but these aren’t double the size of the vintage line.

That would be awesome — I loved my brother's BUGG. It was such a fun vehicle, especially that detachable front pod.
And Secto-Viper was pretty great, too.
@grumpymatt I was a little too old for the BUGG when it was first released, but now I have my younger brother's and I love it. I recently heard the spherical pod was originally designed as a standalone vehicle until it was shown to marketing. Marketing was so enthused, they gave the go ahead for a large vehicle around the pod.
Yeah, I was in high school and "too old" for GI Joe in the late '80s too, so I had to live vicariously through my brother's stuff. Though he didn't last much longer. I think he got a Warthog and an AGP after the BUGG and that was it for the glorious run of Joe vehicles in our household. (Although looking through Yo Joe just now, there's not much released in 1989 or later that seems very good — other than Night Force and Slaughter Marauders repaints ...)
And that makes sense about the BUGG pod, it was really well done for a pop-off piece of a larger vehicle.

SShhhh......quiet man. You trying to start a rumble!??! If those 90s kids who were into Joe hear you it will be on!!!! 🤣
I'm there with you (born in 1974 so ARAH was right smack dab in the middle of my toy days as a kid). My younger brother really wasn't into Joes, more Turtles and later so I didn't see much after 1988 as I was in high school as well. Most of 88 and later came after the fact when I started collecting as an adult.
I could definitely go for some Classified NF and MM vehicles now.
Not to stray too off topic, my big regret is not striking a better balance between collecting modern figures and filling holes from childhood era toys. I wish I had gotten into 90's Joe. Since my younger brother is a comics guy, I've been reassembling some of the stuff he had after I stopped. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a lot from the last three years of ARAH. I picked up a Monster Blaster last month (neon green APC, huge cannon). The 90s era jets look cool and I'd like a Sgt. Savage Warhawk.
I grabbed that Warhawk back in the day. (Thanks to ToyBiz Marvel figures and then a couple years later Hasbro's Star Wars line, I was over being "too old" for toys by the mid-'90s. Although I was super self-conscious about buying them in the early days ...) The Kubert art on the Warhawk box was awesome. Then I opened it up. It was a weird dark green color and super stubby. Got rid of it a couple years later. Those Extreme/Sgt. Savage years were tough ...
And there were a couple cool vehicles from '89-'94 but by and large they were mostly over-designed with gimmicky features and too brightly colored for my tastes. It was the '90s though ...
To get back on topic, as I was looking through the later years I noticed repainted Conquest X-30s. In my space-coveting world that would actually be great in 1:12 scale as a display piece. A $200 Haslab with Slip-Stream and a couple other figures would do very well, I'd imagine. (Honestly, I imagine whatever they do is probably going to do very well at this point, even if it's gonna be too big for me.)

I know it will never happen but I’m prepared to build my house around a Classified Terror Drome. I’ll put a piece of mahogany across it and use it as a coffee table when company is over.
My friends have no interest in my nonsense.
I’ve been saying a Classified X-30 Conquest is way more feasible than a Skystriker, which would just be too large to be useful. An X-30 would still be compact enough to be flown around and played with. It’s an iconic looking vehicle and unique to the brand as well.
