Now this is spoilers:

Spoiler
new Acolyte footage shown in a promo video:

In the footage that was new, at least to me, we see Sol and the Sith fighting, as well as Yord and the Sith, but also Kelnacca getting some action against... Sol? I would guess on the witch planet, and one of them is under their control like they did to Torbin. I'm also guessing that's where Torbin got the wound over his eye. Vern also looks to be on Kelnacca's planet where Sol etc. meet the Sith. I also wonder if those bugs clutching the trees will come into play during the big fight.

The creators said the series uses

Spoiler
the Rashomon effect. So I'd expect what happened on witch planet to have contradictory versions in flashbacks still coming. So lots of opportunity to see the Wookie Jedi

@derrabbi Yeah, I expected it that last episode but obviously it's coming still. Maybe not this coming week, but soon.

Joke theory on one mysterious identity

Actually two. The Sith on Acolyte is most likely.... Ki Adi Mundi! Didn't see that coming, didja?! Especially with that helmet not fitting his head at all.

The other one is that this Sith is actually... Sidious! Somehow, Palpatine preturned!

I saw a meme of that online. I love picturing him trying to squish his big ol' head into that helmet. Would definitely explain why he's so adamant they don't exist. He's pulling a Scooby Doo and trying to divert attention away. The other theory I love is that Smiley is 2 Bazils in a trench coat. 🤣

I'm really looking forward to this next episode. Sucks that all the clear red shirts are gonna be red shirted, but I'm looking forward to seeing our characters fight! We don't usually have to wait this long to see a Jedi's fighting style, so I'm excited to see how Sol's compares to Yord's and Jecki's. Also interested to see how long (if at all) the red shirts last. I'm expecting sort of a Palpatine's Arrest situation where all but the named characters get taken out in one fell swoop, but I'm hoping one or two will stick around for a few extra moves (preferrably the female Kel Dor)

Damn, I genuinely thought I was breaking new ground. Two bazils is brilliant though. He did disappear for a bit, didn't he? Or they? But I can't wait to see the battle too.

I hope they do give her a KOTOR project. I'd love to see a ton of Sith for once.

Last week's Kiadi Mundi controversy sent me to the ebay sold listings in the hopes that his Phantom Menace figure--which I needlessly skipped class in college of 1999 to get to the store early to buy along with the rest of the wave for fear that they would all sell out within minutes--would send his figure skyrocketing in price.  Nope, no dice.  Well it would have been now or never, Kiadi, you're stuck there in my parents' basement indefinitely.  Only a couple more days until the next controversy episode.

I wonder what's up with only some of the characters getting last names and not others.  Wookiees haven't been known for that so Kelnacca is okay, and Mae needs her last name un-revealed to prevent spoilers; but why just 'Sol', 'Indara', and 'Torbin'?  Why does Vernestra rate a last name when Sol doesn't?

As I understand it, Vern is the only character on the show who originally appeared in the High Republic novels. Seems like most of the characters original to this show haven't been given full names or at least not revealed yet.

"Was that its name?"

Spoiler
Episode 5

Bortles!

Seriously, I enjoyed that one (apart from Sol not killing Qimir just because Osha yelled at him, and then Mae asking why she shouldn't trust Sol in the middle of a half dozen Jedi hacked to death like that was important at that moment)

Qimir is already more menacing than Kylo Ren ever was. After killing off the no-name Jedi, I fully expected Yord and Jecki to survive, so their deaths caught me off guard. Sad to see them go.

"She was a child" "You brought her here" was nicely done.

Mae impersonating Osha we assume (Sol should sense that)? Question is, was that the plan? Did Mae see Sol and others possessed by the Sith kill the coven - and if so was Koril in cahoots to make an Acolyte for Qimir?

Spoiler
Acolyte episode 5

Yeah, lots of shocks, some outstanding lines and delivery, and BRUTAL action.

I'm wondering, without having read many comics on the matter... If his name is Darth Ren. They played the Kylo theme at the end, and his costume and mask are very Knights of Rennish. I wonder if his master was Darth Tenebrous, who apparently mined cortosis, but Qimir was replaced by Plagueis? But wasn't killed and went on the run, making his own offshoot that will lead to the Knights of Ren.

Whatever Qimir 's deal, he is probably my favorite Disney star wars character already.

Not sure its a long term good idea ...

Spoiler
... to have killed Jecki. Sure kill Yord but she is really the character that is hitting the most in this show and while I get the short term burst of her death in this ep it sort of feels like they don't know when they have something vs when they don't. We haven't seen Yord's Padawan since the 1st ep. Why not have made her a relevant character all along and use her in this role. The idea is good; to point out the idiocy of Jedi bringing children into battle but it sure seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot. They seemed more interested in keeping the speak and spell alive than their most interesting character. Its like if Ahsoka died in ep 8 of Clone Wars
