Yeah, it's cool they have an ending but What If is definitely a fun thing I wouldn't mind delving into every couple years.
Denzel Washington said the role Coogler is writing for him in Black Panther 3 will be one of his last roles.
I'm not paying as much attention as I used to but I feel like this is the first time I've heard anything so concrete on BP3.
That was my thought too- I couldn't remember if it had been announced or not, but then again I keep forgetting about most of what's slated to come out. I wouldn't be surprised if Denzel let it slip- the older actors who haven't been sucked up into the current day hype machine like him, Alfred Molina, Patti LuPone, etc. aren't really concerned with spoilers. Still, with the reaction to the first 2 movies, it felt like an inevitability, it was just a matter of when.
Makes me feel all the worse for movies like Shang-Chi which are also waiting for their follow-up. With the recent announcement of lowering the projects down to, what was it, 2 movies a year? I wouldn't be surprised if we have to keep waiting for that one.
Shang Chi 2 seemed like it was one of the ones that were real close, but then he signed on for Spiderman 4 so I don't even know anymore. There's still more than two scheduled for most of these years though, so that whole slowing down thing don't seem to take yet.
There are seven untitled movies on Marvel's release schedule right now. 2 in 2026, 3 in 2027 and 3 in 2028. Plenty of room for Shang-Chi 2, Doctor Strange 3 and Black Panther 3. Those are the no-brainers.
X-Men will probably be the first movie after Secret Wars.
After that, who knows. But I'm looking forward to finding out.
I finally finished Agatha. It wasn't my favorite marvel show, but firmly among the great ones. Entertaining throughout and would have been really good to just binge straight through but I was letting my kids dictate when and how many we watched. Everyone was great and I'd definitely be down for more.
@sepster Hey, I assume you saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs song on one episode of Agatha?
@ru1977 I think it worked well in weekly release, letting some story and character beats sit there unanswered for a bit. I also think it holds up really well on a second viewing, if you can get to it, and I think unlike many "mystery" shows, knowing what is going to happen actually makes parts of it more compelling and not less so. It is also sadder to watch the second time through given some of the collateral damage along the way. Not a lot of happy endings in this one.
@fac I can see that, yeah, about it being more compelling after knowing what happens. I feel a lot of the best mysteries are like that.
I watched all of Agatha All Along last week. I thought it was extremely well done. Intricately plotted--almost surprisingly so--and entertaining. I didn't necessarily need more of Agatha and was honestly not enthusiastic about watching the show, so I kind of started it out of dedication to MCU Completion more so than "I wonder how Agatha's doing. So yeah, very surprising how well it turned out.
Plus I've had that damn Witch's Road song stuck in my head for the past couple of days.
Seriously, on that song. I don't even mind.
Ha I was listening to it multiple times for Halloween
They have multiple versions of the song and it is kind of interesting to listen for the lyric and tonal changes from version to version.
The Ballad of the Witches' Road (Sacred Chant Version) (From Agatha All Along (Episodes 1 & 2))
The Ballad of the Witches' Road (Lorna Wu's Version) (From Agatha All Along (Episode 4))
The Ballad of the Witches' Road (Cover Version) (From Agatha All Along (Episode 4))
The Ballad of the Witches' Road (Agatha Through Time Version) (From "Agatha All Along") (Episode 9)
I'm partial to the Agatha Through Time Version.
There are also these - interesting that the "True Crime" version is closer to Nicky's version, which works given that Agatha's memory is the source of the song one assumes...:
The Ballad of the Witches' Road (True Crime Version) (From Agatha All Along (Episodes 1 & 2))
The Ballad of the Witches' Road (Nicky's Version) (From "Agatha All Along")
Japanese Breakfast - The Ballad of the Witches' Road (Pop Version) (From "Agatha All Along")
Intricately plotted--almost surprisingly so--and entertaining.
I think that was what impressed me the most - it is great on rewatch to see how well it fits together.
Disappointing the showrunner Jac Schaeffer isn't leading the Vision show due to the schedule not working out.
