Especially when they clearly had three seconds of footage that they then stretched out digitally into a "character" and a "performance."

I've no interest in any Venom movies, but could you go into detail about this?

@ru1977 Thanks, that's interesting about Spidey being in Doomsday. I feel like they ought to leave him as the Neighborhood Spiderman for a while...not part of some huge threat.

I would probably disagree if we had more of him as the Neighborhood Spider-Man. I enjoy when he's in over his head and rubbing elbows with bigger heroes, but I really love when he's taking care of street criminals, or even ambitious tech-heists like Vulture.

It's why I REALLY hope for Spider-Man 4 to be Gang War with Kingpin, The Rose, Hobgoblin, Black Cat, and Daredevil. I will be shocked if that's the direction they go in, but also pleasantly ruining my pants as well.

Spoiler
Spoilered for anyone still waiting to see Venom 3
The movie opens with a long, slow, drawn-out voice-over from Knull in his prison dimension. This felt to me like it was added late in Post and is mostly wide, shadowy-shots of a white-haired dude along with tons of nasty creatures. He's droning on and on about his prison - and in the close-ups his face is total shadow so his mouth may or may not have been moving. His hair is obviously fake and is pretty much the focal point of the scene. Then that scene ends with no reveal.

Later, we cut to that same prison again and no clear shots of him. Later, at the end, he finally kinda raises his head and it's a different shot because the hair is at least partially real. It was quick, it's probably available online, but I think they just kept cutting back to the same three shots to give the character more presence. It was not good.

Spoiler
Different Dance-related thought
I appreciate that they brought Mrs. Chen to Vegas to give her a part. Their dance was fun - completely ridiculous, completely stupid but at least entertaining. It made no sense from a plot or danger perspective, but was it the only moment of joy in this film? Other than maybe Martin and family realizing his dream?

I think you may have misinterpreted me or I am not following - I don't want Spidey in the Avengers Doomsday fllm because he should still be an unknown thing, just some local guy in a Spider suit, dealing with burglars and getting cats out of trees and off the radar of any big names like the rest of the Avengers or Doom. I'd like for Spidey 4 to be about him working his way back to relevance because he is absolutely needed.

Right, and I agree I'd like more of him as the neighborhood hero before getting him mixed in with the Avengers again, even though I enjoy when he's mixed in with the Avengers.

Agatha finale tonight!

Will it be goodbye yellow-brick road, a funeral for a friend, or maybe the bitch is back?

@fac So awesome, and thank you the link! I'd heard about the trailer but never tried to watch it until now.

Spoiler
Disney PLus trailer stuff

Ms Marvel's dad was shown in the Comic Con trailer for Born Again, and they used the same bit here. Quick shot of Bullseye in there, though I wouldn't know that was him just by looking since they went with a different costume than his usual black and white one.

Iron Heart was quick too and didn't give a whole lot away, but the new suit does look cool. They didn't give away who that villain is even a little!

Wonder Man definitely looks like a lot of fun, especially with Trevor along.

Need to watch the Agatha finale again. Some interesting stuff in there - I think they did enough with the ambiguity of Agatha's motives and the Road that in some ways episode 8 was a bit hard to parse in real time. Really liked the origins of the Road in episode 9. Curious what others think....

@ru1977 Curious if IronHeart being on the movie list was a mistake, misdirection, placeholder to not give anything away? I still think Armor Wars with Doom is a possibility...

Honestly, I'm not sure what you're referring to. As far as I've ever heard, Iron Heart was always a show. Armor Wars was the one that switched from show to movie.

Ah, so... without having seen most of the season still, I'm guessing the rumored Special Presentation that was to be called The Witches' Road did in fact become Agatha's finale?

@ru1977 I went back to look at the list from SDComics and realized I was interpreting the phase 6 list as all movies with release dates, not TV as well as it didn't have any other TV like Wonder Man, so thought Ironheart had moved to a movie. So that was my confusion...

Maybe the whole series could have been condensed to a special if they only focused on Agatha's history and not much of the other plot points like Wiccan or side characters. I think you will see that leaving it to the end of the show was a good decision.
