GOTGv3 was such an era-ender that it really should have capped a Phase.
And it would have, if TPTB were less stupid and reactionary back in 2018. Endgame, FFH, GOTGv3 would have been a really nice threesome. I agree Widow should be retroactive.
One of my all-time favorite Star Trek TNG episodes is the one following Best of Both Worlds with Picard at his family home coping with what happened and needing a break. Similarly, you can't end the Lord of the Rings with the Ring destroyed and they all live happily ever after, and I will always remember reading the appendix where we learn Sam left from the Grey Havens to pass over the sea, last of the Ring Bearers. To me, good storytelling means that we want to know what happens to the characters after the stakes are won...because the stakes of good over evil only matters if people them get to experience the good.
I think the focus on the aftermath of the Infinity War, which cut the original Avengers in half, killed Vision and Gamora, left Thor alone - I have been all for it. Years from now when revisiting the MCU, I believe the Phase 4 and 5 films and shows focused on the core Avengers will resonate as reasonable conclusions to their stories. I can live with where Hawkeye and Thor are now even I would like to see a bit more, I am fine where Dr Strange and Ant Man and Sam Wilson and Bucky and so on are. Spidey, I want to see him reunite with MJ but I can live with his status as well.
Basically, if the MCU ended after the films I have in my personal Phase 4, with Deadpool and Wolverine closing out the Fox-verse, and No Way Home finish out the Sony Spidey verse, I'd be fine with that. Which isn't to say I am not interested in more stories, but it feels complete.

I used to watch TNG with my dad, starting with the pilot. I admit I fell off it when my parents split up, but of the first several seasons, I think that episode is one of the most memorable to me.

That's a good question really. I realized, even though L&T wasn't my favorite Thor movie, I am also okay if that's the last we see of him. Strange, definitely. Sure, it seems like it's leading to something else, but it also kinda leaves it like... yeah, Strange is gonna keep at it and defeat interdimensional villains with his new friend. Thor is gonna do the same with galactic villains, with his new friend. Spider-Man's ended on a down note but it's a really beautiful one.
I do agree, as stated earlier, the Hulk's big accomplishment being done off screen is completely lame. Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Endgame were meant to be a secret Hulk trilogy but his major character growth was removed. They did shoot the scene of Banner and Hulk coming to terms and becoming one for Infinity War, but the Russos felt it was too much of a victory when they wanted the ending to be a complete loss for the heroes. I guess I get that... but I completely disagree with it. I think of all the director's cuts I could hope for... well, Marvels may be the big one right now, but Infinity War would be a close second.
Otherwise, yeah... Tony, Natasha, and Steve got their endings. Hulk, Thor, and Hawkeye I'm cool with riding into the sunset, sorta. Spider-Man... I know they're doing more but I'd be perfectly happy if they don't. Ant-Man and Wasp... eh. Not the final movie I would have wanted or expected, but yeah. Probably as good as they can do with them. But I'm still down for a third Carol movie. Like I said before, Thor 2 was considered one of the worst MCU movies but still got a third one. Let's go for it. If you really can't give her a solo movie, then team her up with the new Guardians. Bring in Alpha Flight. Throw a couple of Eternals in there. I dunno. But I'm still down to follow the new characters as well as excited to see how the FF shakes out, along with the post-Secret Wars mutants. But Avengers 5 and 6 are really exciting to me.
I've likely brought this up before here, but since nobody listens to me at home anymore, here it is again.
I really (really) think the Avengers as a line should've just finished with Endgame and ended with a bang. Like fac says, you want everyone to get an ending, so I'd still include WandaVision, GotG3, and No Way Home (and Black Widow was long over-due). But it's otherwise just letting the brand fizzle rather than giving it the grand conclusion they'd set up for. Let the Fantastic Four headline the next few phases.
I mean, it's Phase FOUR for cripes sake.
Fer instance, Black Panther and Namor were both presented in FF comics, Black Panther 2 could've leaned that way instead of dragging out an unrelated Ironman legacy character. She-Hulk has ties to the Fantastic Four. Even Agatha Harkness is an FF legacy character.
Let Kamala's bangle be a Kree artifact from the Inhuman's Great Refuge (conveniently close to Pakistan). Hell, replace the Eternal's movie entirely with better attempt at the Inhumans. Secret Invasion (with the Super Skrull) should have been an FF movie at least. By Phase 6 we've got a Power Pack movie for Franklin to hang out with.
Then it all wraps up with Fantastic Four 5: Secret Wars.
You've still got room for side stories like Shang-Chi and Thunderbolts, of corde. And I wouldn't have minded a more connected Darkhold arc thru WandaVision, Werewolf by Night, and MoM (and maybe Moon Knight).
Update to untitled movies with scheduled release dates... I still have one for 2/13/26 that I think either won't get used, or that's when Blade will be pushed back to eventually. One was scheduled for 7/24/26 that has now been cancelled or moved, and two were added to after Secret Wars: 7/23/27 and 11/5/27.
Born Again debuts in March.
Can't say I had any interest in continuing Agatha's story, but I do like horror. If they stick the tone, it could be alright as a stand-alone series.
Doesn't seem to have any actual Marvel in it anyways.
The Born Again trailer that was shown is out there, recorded on phones. Really makes it seem like a continuation of the Netflix show not just in plot but tone and violence.
Keeping up with all the changes can be daunting, to say the least. But what the heck. A boy needs a hobby.

It looks like Agatha All Along is going to introduce Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, a member of the Young Avengers in the comics.
Ms. Marvel has some more recruiting to do!
@sdcomics Thank you for doing all that! Looks good to me, and all up to date (as far as I can tell) with the untitled release dates. I think we went through this with No Way Home as well, but could one of those be Spider-Man? I was wondering if the cancelled 7/24/26 was Spider-Man, then moved to the recently announced 7/23/27 date. Or maybe all these untitled dates are just placeholders for Blade.
Kamala Khan's dad.
I don't blame them for holding back on that trailer since it would likely overshadow any hype Agatha is building. But looks amazing. Too bad Disney stripped all the violence out, huh? /s.
Marvel animation bits from today:
- Ryan Coogler is producing Eyes Of Wakanda. The show is four episodes set across various points in time, exploring the War Dogs, tasked with protecting Wakanda.
- Hudson Thames is voicing Spider-Man in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman. Colman Domingo voices Norman Osborne. Dr. Strange and Iron Man also appear.
- What If season 3 is the last season. Moon Knight, Iron Heart, The Vision, and Shang Chi will appear, along with Sam's Avengers.
- Polaris, Apocalypse, and Danger will appear in the next season of X-Men 97. The team will wear Grant Morrison costumes.
- Marvel Zombies won't be released "for a while"
