Fantastic Four had a bunch of casting announcements as well. Paul Walter Hauser (Cruella, Cobra Kai, and of course ... the Jamie Taco sketch) in an undisclosed role, John Malkovich, and Ralph Ineson (Ready Player One, GOT, IT Crowd) as Galactus.

Ralph Ineson is great casting as galactus. His voice is incredible. Best part of Final Fantasy 16.

@adrienveidt ooooooo that would be cool.

I kinda want her and Awkwafina to have a scene together, with their dueling raspy voices.

Michael Lesslie, who wrote the latest Hunger Games movie, is writing the MCU X-Men film. So I guess they're finally getting to that. Now we get to have a couple years of phoney casting leaks.

Rumor is that Evans might actually come back to do a limited series about him returning the infinity stones.

I hope that is true. Lots of potential there. His final mission, also bound to give him one last meeting with the Red Skull.

That rumor has been floating around for a couple years, which doesn't mean it's not true. It could be a lot of fun, and nice epilogue for him.

During the Fwoosh downtime I rewatched the Marvel Netflix/Defenders shows (I only had seen a few that had been released on DVD - everything post Defenders was new).

I am a little concerned that there isn't a way to do DD vs Kingpin that won't feel like a rehash, so will be curious how Born Again goes. I also hope they can resolve the status of Luke Cage, Claire and Misty as well as Danny and Colleen. Jessica Jones was left, to me, in a good place but Luke's situation in particular we need to resolve. (It would be a total pivot from the comics but possibly amazing if Luke had gone Kingpin/Crimelord bad during the blip and he was the adversary to Matt, and maybe Kingpin truly is reformed by Echo - maybe he is the one Born Again?) I hope we get Iron Fist and Shang-Chi down the road, maybe connect the two "other dimensions" in their stories somehow, maybe move on to another iron Fist in the process

Anyway, my random and brief thoughts - DD seasons 1, 2 and 3 all hold up pretty well, although I was a little annoyed with Matt at the start of season 3, and never have liked the Punisher so found parts of Season 2 tedious. I think Jessica Jones peaked in Season 1, did not like much of Season 2, but did find Patsy's story in Season 3 compelling. Luke Cage may have been the best overall episode to episode. Iron Fist was better in Season 2 - I never hated Season 1 like some did, but I admit it never quite clicked - best character was probably Colleen. Similarly, I liked the Defenders in terms of the dynamics, but the final battle seemed off and the idea there was a dragon under Manhattan and people knew about it was a stretch and I am not sure it fit with the, relatively, grounded nature of the other shows. (I ignored the Punisher series)  One problem all the shows had was that they killed off some of their best characters too soon at times.

I will note that most of the episodes were a solid 50+ minutes, so a more typical 40+ minutes D+ run time means 18 episodes might not be far off in terms of total story as 13 episodes.

@fac wow, I agree with almost all your random and brief thoughts. I've never been big on Punisher but didn't find his stuff tedious on DD. Still haven't watched the Punisher show though. But completely agree on Colleen, Danny, Jessica, and Defenders. I still love DD but had trouble with Luke once they lost Cottonmouth, and Diamondback really kicked that show too hard into camp for my taste. But I thought that, and like you said Iron Fist, for stronger in their second seasons while JJ went down.

I would still love for them to all get another chance, maybe with an ensemble Defenders series that isn't JUST about the team up but following all of their plots each week with crossovers here and there. Marvel street level ensemble crime drama series.

@ru1977 Tedious may be too harsh by me re:Punisher in DD season 2, I just can't engage with the character so it was like a subplot I wanted over and was tempted at times to fast forward through (kind of like the lawyer in Jessica Jones and her ALS diagnosis). Having said that, that was more about me than the story or acting, which was fine.

Cottonmouth, Killgrave, Ben, even Wesley in DD, all kept my attention, so the shows lost a bit once they were out of the picture.

Given the way Marvel crossovers their characters all the time, I think DD can be the flagship show, and they could bring in the others for an extended arc here and there.

I hope they decide to release the rest of the Netflix shows on Blu-ray along with more Agents of SHIELD.

One random aside, I was in NYC for an event in February and it was at the building where they filmed the lobby for Iron Fist in season 1. I vaguely recognized it, and then clearly recognized it on the rewatch. Not often I recognize the interior of a building as a location.

I'd be fine if other Defenders showed up now and then on DD, along with other street heroes that haven't appeared yet.

So, I'm not sure how much of the previous Defenders stuff they want to drag into the MCU proper -  so we may not see  Cage and Iron Fist cross into the MCU Daredevil.      One crossover they could do rather naturally would be Moon Knight.   I don't know if they could get Oscar Isaac to agree,  but those are heroes whose paths wouldn't be ridiculous to have cross in the streets of New York.    The inability to freely access Spider-Man and his associates does significantly limit the street level crossover potential...   Cloak and Dagger could be fun and interestng,  but I'm certain they would reboot those entirely rather than revive the previous show and that might keep them from wanting to bother.

What are some other street level characters that could have the potential to cross paths with Daredevil?
