@fletch thank you, and I think just Venom 2. Venom 3 and Kraven are pending.
Promo for Cap 4 showing one of the villains.
Apparently Destin Daniel Cretton is filming Shang Chi 2 next year.
Sony is putting out all their Spiderman movies in theaters again later this year for Columbia Pictures' 100th anniversary.
Working my way through the "Netflix" shows, starting from the beginning so halfway through DD season 1 - wondering if the next DD might revisit the Black Sky concept, which is still one of the odder story beats from Season 1 of DD, more so after they introduce Elektra.
Also, have to say I kind of preferred how they visualized Matt's "power" to sense things in the Afleck DD film as him using sound like radar to wire form/outline objects more than the "world on fire" version from DD season 1.
Rosario Dawson one of only a few actors to have major speaking roles in both Star Wars and the MCU - others include Emilia Clarke with Solo and Secret Invasion, and Oscar Isaac with Moon Knight and the ST. (Sam Jackson being the biggest name). Who am I missing? Pedro Pascal will be joining that group, as will Harrison Ford.
Sam Mendolson and Taika Waititi are two I can think of...
I rewatched the Netflix DD show now and then but haven't now in a couple years. I ought to.
Oh, Gina Carano sorta. Alden Ehrenreich if Iron heart isn't cancelled. Donald Glover is another.
More DD musings.
Watching the episode that was basically the origin story for Fisk (Ep 8), made me realize how much of a callback Echo made to that episode in her and Fisk's relationship.
1 - Fisk's Dad brings him along to beat up the guy who insulted his father, and forced Wilson to kick him to teach him to be tough, but at first, he didn't want to do it (but gave in once he started). In Echo, Fisk goes to beat up the vendor who disrespected Maya, but doesn't want Maya to see the attack - so not being like his Dad in two ways (reason he is mad, and not including his "child") - only for Maya to not be like him as a kid and protest but join in on the attack all her own. I liked that parallel and how both became products of being around cruel fathers, but in different ways.
2 - And of course later, he offers her the hammer that he used to kill his own father, in case she had felt he had been abusive to her and needed to kill him. At the time that scene seemed over the top in Echo, but watching this episode again made me think it was in character, and that maybe he would have actually let her kill him. Oddly, that scene in Echo now seems to point more to Fisk genuinely caring for her in his warped way.
3 - Now I am much more curious if, in fact, Maya cured him of the pain of his childhood to the point he is a) reformed - and maybe Matt won't believe it and pushed him back to crime? or b) no longer able to use his past pain as an excuse for his crimes - if he reverts to his sociopathic behavior? Either way could be fascinating.
Fisk is a great character, in that you can - almost - feel bad for him and wish he was the man he portrayed himself to be in public and to Vanessa. But then he pays junkies to kill old women just to flush out "the Devil" and you hate him again.
Yes, I love that parallel and juxtaposition between young Fisk and young Maya. Echo really... it had some great, well thought out parts. I just.... it needed just a little more. Especially between those two characters.
It would be interesting if the Black Sky concept is brought up again. I'll be VERY surprised if they do though. but I also reeeeeeeeeeally hope they bring Elektra back, still played by Elodie Yung.
Venom 3 is titled Venom: The Last Dance and was moved up to 10/25/24.
Kraven is now 8/30/24. Maybe that isn't news but I didn't remember that changing before. I dunno.
Head of Marvel TV Brad Winderbaum confirmed Iron Heart and Wonder Man are both still coming, and says they're editing both right now.
I assume Iron Heart will play into Armor Wars and also the team that Ms Marvel is going to form.
Curious if Wonder Man will seem more standalone like Moon Knight.
I think that the void in Avengers leadership and funding due to Tony, Steve and Natasha all being gone is an interesting storyline, and I suspect they will try to hit that beat with the Thunderbolts and the Cap movie and maybe Armor Wars as well. But I think in retrospect, maybe in Falcon and Winter Soldier, maybe in Secret Invasion, but somewhere we needed a scene with some combo of Banner, Lang, Rhodes (even if a Skrull), Hawkeye, Strange, Fury and Sam talking about the status, or lack, of the Avengers - even if that scene broke down with Banner and Barton saying they don't want the responsibility, Lang not being the guy, Fury and Strange saying "not my problem", Rhodes dismissing it (if a Skrull) and Sam not yet feeling like he can take Steve's mantle. Maybe not all of them at once, but even spread out across some shows in small groups shining a light on there being a concern that they don't have an Avengers compound or anyone "in charge" or a way to bring in new folks or coordinate. Do they know T'Challa is dead? Who can contact Carol and Thor and expect them to be there?
Scott at the end of Quantumania wondering if he should tell anyone about Kang was played a bit for laughs but what if it was more "who could I tell" without Tony, Steve or Natasha - a bit more foreboding the Avengers may not be ready.
They are dropping the hints, but I would like to see that the characters themselves are concerned...

I.... I want to assume that too, and maybe Iron Heart actually will play into Armor Wars, but I don't expect seemless continuity or real connections. Meaning, I don't expect anything in Iron Heart to be continued in Armor Wars, not really.
Also, I seriously wonder if Armor Wars is one of the cancelled projects. Iger was talking about how he cancelled projects across several of Disney's studios, and I can't remember how explicit he was now, but he made it seem like it was mostly, if not entirely, projects that hadn't already been announced but were being developed. I feel like Armor Wars kinda counts for that.*
I do think she will be part of what Ms Marvel is doing though. I kinda feel like she HAS to.
Curious if Wonder Man will seem more standalone like Moon Knight.
I think it's a spotlight one? Like Echo?

That's a good idea. We got a taste I guess with Wong, Banner, and Carol in Shang-Chi, which seemed more like a continuation of what Widow was doing in Endgame than an actual Avengers team.

Other projects that are apparently on the list of 'no longer being developed' were stuff like Eternals 2, though one leaker claimed the Eternals ARE coming back, just not in a direct sequel, and that they're story will have a continuation.
What I think they ought to do is a cosmic team up movie. Not only would that set a new mold for "team ups are more than just Avengers", but you could have one movie fulfill three or four sequels at once. Basically Annihilation with Thor, Carol, Rocket's Guardian team, Thena (assuming Jolie will do it), Druig, Makkari, Eros, and Pip. Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos, and possibly Sprite, could be supporting, with Ajak, Ikaris, and Gilgamesh cameo-ing as reincarnated versions of themselves.
I'd be fine if they wrapped up the cosmic stuff altogether in a final film at some point fairly soon. Eternals, Celestials, the current Guardians, Eternity in human form with Thor, Collector, Grandmaster, maybe even Kree and the Inhumans, etc. - tie it all up and basically set it so that Earth is off limits to cosmic interference and also make it so that Earthlings are not able to fly around the universe so easily. FF could start to set this up with Galactus and the Watcher (especially if they get the Ultimate Nullifier). I think once you get to the Celestials and the gods in Thor 4, the whole cosmic side struggles to work on film just a bit, as it is too "huge" concept and you keep needing to bring it down to our characters, but it's hard to believe our characters can have any impact in that scenario. So I'd like to see it taken off the table and concluded, and let's get back to Earth-bound threats like Doom...
Kind of how I hope that Secret Wars will wrap up and lock out the multiverse concept after it.
Things need to get back not so much to smaller stakes, but stakes I believe a dozen or so heroes could stop. Like Loki, or Ultron, or Thanos...not beings that can create and destroy worlds and manipulate time and space. Kang was a good one for this because it isn't that any one Kang is all-powerful, but multiple Kangs and their combined knowledge and influence can be.
