Supposedly the Deadpool 3 trailer will be two and a half minutes.
I enjoyed The Marvels a lot but the behind the scenes thing on Disney plus made me enjoy it far more.
Just watched the Marvels for the first time the other day.
I found it to be a bit of a chore to sit through. Clearly I was not the target audience for it, as it seemed to be targeted towards young girls.
Which is fine, although the box office tells me that maybe most young girls still aren't that interested in the genre.
Beyond that, the real problem is that it seems to be a sequel to a movie that doesn't exist.
Would've have liked to see the story where Carol takes down the Supreme intelligence. Maybe learn when and why she took the name captain Marvel (It was just the name of her Mentor in the first film . . . never does she take the name herself) I would like to know what she's so famous for on earth, since her exposure here seems very limited, yet Kamala is a huge fan. Just a lot of implied history all over the film.
Also thought the chemistry was weak. Not a lot of conflict between the 3 leads. Any problems and interesting discussion seems glossed over and rushed.
I don't know how people feel safe with Flurkens around at all. Kamalas family saw this thing eat people, devour whole lazy boys, yet stand with their back to it moments later.
Ya'll, I would be so terrified.
I felt nothing at the end credits.
I'm in one of the top hundred loudest houses in America so I didn't get to hear the DP teaser and only dared to watch until the marvel logo on the actual trailer on my phone but I was dying already. I will watch it for real on the TV at home but oh man am I hyped just off that.
The Marvels was fine. My heart sank a bit with the memory machine scene, though. That was the laziest exposition scene since the memory hologram sidewalk in Dr. Strange.
Still, I think it held up pretty well to the end, bolstered by some solid character work and a villain with tangible goals and motivations. Ms.Marvel was a little one note throughout, but the actor is so charming I didn't mind so much.
It was weakened by an off-character Nick Fury and some real ambiguity about what Monica's powers are. I'm also skeptical that the villain would've been able to go toe-to-toe with Captain "smash through space fleets" Marvel. And I guess Kamala can use her powers without the bangle?
Good points by Andron, though. I don't mind not seeing Marvel destroy the Supreme Intelligence since that made it sort of a mystery, but what really does Kamala know about her that she idolizes her?
Deadpool looks fun. I'm excited.
Yeah, Moon Knight wasn't my favorite and I only watched it once, but in my mind it was one of the better shows. I also had never read any comics with the character, so going in cold may have been a benefit.
My problem with Moon Knight, or any show that goes this route, is that the story kind of sidelines seeing the titular character in their peak form while being an origin story for a completely different character.
I'm not going into a show like Moon Knight, which is showing a 50-year old established comic character in live action for the first time, dying to see the introduction of a newly-created-for-the-show character. I understand Moon Knight needs some establishing on-screen too, but in a 6 episode series, I want to see the title character in their peak form in some, if not most, of the series.

What does Ruth Bat-Seraph (Sabra) have to do with Layla El-Faouly (Scarlet Scarab) who WAS a newly-created-for-the-show character that adopts a name of a comic character who appeared in 2 issues back in 1975?
Ultimately, I think The Marvels suffered from the lack of confidence Disney had in having Carol lead her own sequel solo (kind of the Ant-Man scenario where each sequel added a new hero in Wasp then Cassie). I feel like more than most MCU output, the story in this was mandated to get all the "girl" characters together for marketing/business reasons and not organic story reasons, and what they came up with (the switching powers) makes little if any sense, but I suspect sounded cool on paper.
And it didn't help that Carol, who is the most powerful hero in the MCU at the moment and also has been in space for 40 years (but isn't aging and no one comments), needs "help" to beat anyone or figure out what is going on, and that the main tension between the characters (Lt Trouble and Carol, Kamala seeing Carol not be infallible) should have led to a much better resolution and might have added some needed depth, but was hand-waved a bit with the memory device.
In retrospect this might have been a great D+ series - have each of the first three episodes be from the perspective of one of the Marvels, so we bounce around and have no idea what is going on. Start with Kamala first episode, the next episode is Monica so we enter scenes in different spots, then Carol's perspective where it come together, then the rest of the episodes are them working together, with one set on the singing planet, the Skrull refugee planet could be an episode, etc.
I'm not disagreeing that Marvels may have worked better as a series but it's funny how many shows Disney has that would have worked better as films and vice versa.

Yeah, I feel like both Falcon & the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye might have been better as feature films. Meanwhile I think that Multiverse of Madness might have worked as a series that was essentially a sequel to WandaVision (focus more on America, and have Strange play less of a role), Eternals as a series, and The Marvels a series.
Echo maybe as a longer D+ "special" like Werewolf by Night and Guardians Christmas?
WandaVision, Loki, Moon Knight, She Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Secret Invasion - all worked as a series.
I think I agree with all of those. It hadnt occurred to me that MOM could have worked better as a series.
I know it's a weird little hangup, but I think I would've received the movie better if it were just called Captain Marvel 2. Dar-Benn's beef with Carol was the A plot, and I think the title built up expectations than Kamala and Monica were anything more than B plots
@fac, I was skeptical of anybody facing off with Captain Marvel, but maybe the intent was that the position swapping was supposed to be a handicap? Like she couldn't use her powers as much as she needed to. At least that's how I would've played it.
I liked the Marvels, but the flashback scene of Carol fighting the Supreme Intelligence should have been the main story. I’d rather see the war with the full power of the Kree be the focus. Should have kept Ronan alive for this one. And add some Kree Sentry robots for an epic fight.
And it would have been nice if the movie used more of the comic Avengers story Operation Galactic Storm with Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Vision, Sersi Hercules, etc going along for the ride.
And this whole thing should have preceded Civil War, because it would better lay out the differences between Cap and Iron Man like in the comics. Some lost opportunities.
