I think this deserves it's own thread.

1st trailer here!

My first thoughts is they look amazing in their suits! Love that the Thing is shorter like in the classic comics. Wish his voice had more "gravel" to it, though.

GALACTUS!! 😶 😶 😶 😶 The fiery asteroids coming to Earth to "herald" his arrival is right out of the comics. Love that!

The tone looks great! Going to go watch it a couple more times.

A. Why don't they have matching uniforms?

B. WHERE THE HELL IS THE FLYING BATHTUB?

C. Knowing they've genderbent the Surfer to be Shalla Bal instead of Norrin Radd; POSSIBLE SPOILER SPECULATION TO FOLLOW:

is that the crux this alternate universe changes on?  Does Shalla rebel against Galactus to save Earth, or does she stay true to him to be the reason this Earth dies?  I'm thinking the FF are doing some mumbo-jumbo to try sending Galactus away and Bal's fidelity is why it fails and the Four get sucked into the inter-universal portal themselves to end up in the modern-day MCU.

I am surprised they didn’t have Cousin doing a little more of a voice. Not that I think he isn’t a good choice. He def plays self hate really well. Tonally looks perfect.

We know they change up stuff from trailers, so I wonder if the normal voice and cooking scene aren't to play up Cousin's role more than the couple of face shots do and he'll get a more gravelly voice for the movie.  Hell, they probably haven't even started that work until they get the 'final' edit to work on, why pay for converting stuff that's liable to end up on the cutting room floor Desktop Recycle Bin?

I've fallen head over heels in love with the Fantastic Four over the last decade. Earnest goodness is exactly what I want from most superhero stories these days. (Fingers crossed for Gunn's Superman for the same reason.)

I wish Reed had the white collar like Sue, but the suits are fantastic (pun intended).

I like Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby, but I'm somewhat skeptical of them both in these roles. Ebon Moss-Bachrach is the real home run casting for me. I couldn't imagine a better actor for the part, living or dead. Anyone who hasn't watched The Bear yet, watch it.

Galactus looks cool. I'm excited to see Silver Surfer.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this despite dumping on the MCU since Endgame.

Thing looks so good. Completely love the protruding eyebrow ridge.

(pun intended).

I love when people admit this.

I think the thing I hate about this is that it's being added to the MCU.  It's such a delightful, distinctive setting of the 60s that never was, that I want it to continue as the setting for these movies.  And, since I'm completely burned out on multi-versal stories, the idea that this is leading into the MCUs epic multi-versal story is a lot of baggage I don't want.

Sweet Cinematic Gods, please just do me the courtesy of giving me a great Hulk vs.Thing fight on the big screen. Somehow, someway.

  • They did a bad casting job with Jonny.........jonny is suppose to be good looking, that guy is not it
  • The trailer just gave me a "medium" excitement........i felt more excitement for the new Superman.

I thought that looked just about perfect.

Interesting they did not show or reference Reed's powers, did they?

Curious who the older guy that Malkovich is playing is supposed to be....

If you look closer none of the uniforms match.  Ben's hands are bare and only he and Johnny have sleeve stripes; and based on the black line Ben has white pant cuffs above the black-lined boot cuff.  Really, only Sue's outfit looks right and the others should match her as much possible, although I hope we end up with a barechested Thing.

This is early Kirby Thing where he's just rocky and chunky; and both he and Johnny are a pace behind Reed & Sue in the vidcap pic.  We'll get Byrne Thing in the sequel after Reed tries curing him, I bet.
