My hope is they're using texture and finish interchangeably. If they want the purple parts to be glossy vs the red, then that's fine. Otherwise, I just want a budget version of what Mondo is doing with X-Men animated. They don't add any texture to those figures that wasn't present in the animation and they certainly don't look or feel cheap. I get that adding texture is a cheaper way to add perceived value than more paint, but if it takes the product away from the source material (and I find it funny Dwight said that people are responding positively to the clean, animated, aesthetic of this thing) then what are you doing? You're just moving away from the original goal of the product and doing something different.

If they're pointing to the original BAF Sentinel as something similar then I'm not worried - I think the "texture" on the solid parts of that figure look great, and don't stop it from feeling like seamless metal.

I'm rather sure the 97 Sentinel isn't going to suddenly look radically different as a final product.

I think it was Dan, but a Hasbro rep said the ML 97 Rogue reissue is happening in November and there will be another reissue figure to go along with her.  Not sure who the next most demanded figure for reissue would be.

I would guess Gambit, but I suppose some of the heavy hitters in wave 2 (Cyclops, Jean, Goblin Queen) were a little difficult to track down.

Oh, my money is on Cyclops. He was easily the most difficult to find from wave two. Besides Wolverine and Rogue, within the full offering of X-Men '97 figures, it's certainly Cyclops who deserves a reissue.

If the rumored list is true I kind like it. Jubilee, Roberto, Morph, Cable, Emma Frost and Logan (I guess civilian) are a solid lineup.

Plus the two 2-packs of Scott & Jean and Ororo & Logan in what I assume is gonna be their later classic looks.

I like it. The only big ones missing from season 1 would be : Beast, Bastion, Forge and Mr. Sinister right?

Beast really doesn’t deserve the neglect he gets as a character.

I think Beasts issue is more of a unique mold thing then an actual purposeful neglect. It's not as cost affective to make a new Beast as it is some other figures. They seem to be wanting to make all these new figures pinless, new molds, etc... so they would have to tool a new head, legs, and arms for him at the bare minimum. And the only reuse they'd probably get out of it is maybe 1 or 2 more Beast figures. I can't imagine there's much more to it then that, considering how popular a character he is. And nowadays, he may even qualify as a "deluxe" release, for whatever criteria they use for that.

Otherwise I like the lineup. Not sure we need another civilian Logan, but they need a Wolverine anchor I guess. I'm curious as to what Emma is gonna look like too. I can't imagine they'd use the boxset body for her. Too "hawt". So a new one, with smaller boobs and less cleavage? Hopefully at the same height as the Astonishing one. I am also curious about the 2 packs. I'll probably buy them as well if they're not just straight repacks. It's a good time to be an XMen fan right now. That makes me happy.

This! I have the Astonishing one as a stand in right now and she's a perfect height! I hate when heels cause a female figure to be as tall as the men. I'm worried they'll reuse the Madison Pryer figure which suffered from being too tall. If they atleast switch out her thigh pieces with a shorter piece it could work. But I'm just gonna hope for a brand new sculpt that is the height of the Astonishing one. Also, there's the chance she ends up in new costume next time we see her too lol.

Now that Cable leaked I think I have to (1) hope they go with his design for the vast majority of his appearances and (2) get that Sentinel.  I prefer Sunspot in a superhero costume but will gladly get him, Jubilee and Morph as well.  I would prefer the Shiar Xavier rather that the chair we barely saw, but we'll see what happens.  Hoping for a deluxe Bastion now!

Yeah a full robotic Bastion from the final battle would be really cool to get in figure form.

The last lab coat Beast is so close to animated Beast that I can't imagine I'd want any animated version they release.  MAYBE if they nail the animated head in some particularly great way, but even the head is pretty similar to the stoic one we got with the lab coat version.

@trunks3540 there's plenty of new tooling in the line already that has no obvious reuse. Jean, for example, is basically all new. Plus, it's not like they're forbidden from using a body with pins (Gambit) so they could easily take the existing Beast figure and do a toon-appropriate head. That's really it, we just need a Beast head with the Jim Lee shape but actual eyeballs instead of whited-out eyes. And I'd prefer a smile.

Excepting Beast, that rumored list looks okay. If Jubilee turns out well I'll get her since I hate the previous VHS figure. If Cable is in his standard attire (and not the X-Men uniform from late in the season) then I'll be interested in him. And Morph is on the table if done well. If it's the old Morph with a new head then no thanks. Could not care less about the rest of the wave.

I think the Zabu wave Cable means we'll be getting his first '97 costume - plus, they had the reference for that way sooner.

I really hope that when they get to Beast he comes on a card - not a box, not a deluxe - a matching cardback so he matches the rest.

@misfit yea, i understand all that. I was just saying I doubt it's a lack of love as to why they don't make as many Beast figures. It's probably more the tooling issue. Hasbro makes some bizarre choices sometimes. I'm not saying it's completely logical, I'm just saying that that is more likely the case.
