Yeah,  I'm going to bite the bullet and buy one.   I don't think I can justify to myself the price or shelf-space for two,  but I'll be made if I skip it entirely.    I've got nearly a year to save the money for it - though I didn't love Ryan's implication that this figure will hit at roughly the same time as Dragon Man.   Can't we space the expensive big figure drops out even a little bit?

What's worse is that someone, I think Ryan Doell on the Geek.Dad.Life podcast last night, made another good point about the timing.   Not only is it on the heels of Dragon Man, but Hasbro tends to back end a bunch of Haslabs starting around SDCC.   Sure they have gotten much better at spreading them out, but they still have big ticket items going up in the final 2 quarters of the year.

And that of course doesn't account for any of the other dozen or so big ticket items they'll pump out in the next little while.   By big ticket I am counting $100US(+).   Classified will have at least 1-2 vehicles, plus the Haslab in that range.   Marvel will probably have a couple more big fig preorders (thankfully not paid up front), and then of course TFs consistently have at least one or two big ticket items every year.   SW??  Forget about it...there's another couple at least.

Not to mention roleplay items from ML and SW.

More reasons I'm glad I have been trying to cut back overall and focus mainly on Classified (yeah right tell that to my wallet).

Fellows, allow me to be clear…no matter what I feel, you are allowed to enjoy this figure and buy as many you like!

I really hope you guys that like this get it really soon and have lots of fun posing and playing! 🤷🏾‍♂️

Really!

It’s just not for me personally.

@swoop716 sure, I don't think anyone is particularly invested in anyone's personal opinion here but their own. Wanting a product to not look like the source material though is a pretty silly form of criticism that you got called out on and rightfully so. It's perfectly fine to look at a product and conclude "It's not for me."

@misfit

lol at “called out”

is there some kind of criticism form I have to fill out here before I qualify to voice my opinion on toys?

you in particular seem a little hostile…

about toy discussion…

on a toy discussion board…

everything ok?

@swoop716 Nah, I'm good. You seemed like you felt as if you were attacked or something, like people actually cared that you don't like something. I simply pointed out that people only responded to some of your criticism because it was silly.

I don’t know you, but part of  the appeal of this hobby for me is an escape from people who act in a passively aggressive manner.

I do honestly sense that you are acting passive aggressive…for some reason?

because -you- imagined that I want people to “care” about me liking something?

This used to be a discussion forum…where folks discussed things…including what their opinions were…

@swoop716 I don't think you know what passive aggressive means.

Has anyone clarified what shipping is on these yet?  I doubt it's over a certain dollar threshhold so it gets free shipping from Hasbro right?  If it's $50 for shipping, but free shipping for Pulse members, one might as well get the membership effectively for free for what you would have paid in shipping anyway right?

If anyone knows for certain please make it known.

I feel that’s too much for a sentinel… $200 per?

It's "okay". 150 would be perfect. But it's not that bad. You can pay 150$ for some 6 inch Mezco figure with useless stuff in the box. Or some overpriced Mondo thing. This Sentinel is 22 inches, he is not small.

Maybe if it came with a swappable damaged arm and leg… or an alternate damaged torso…
What else? A free ps5?

Posted by: @swoop716
as it is it looks very plain and basic for 200, as it is…It’s too…smooth…it lacks those cool details that would make one think it’s a mutant murdering machine.

It's a CARTOON Sentinel. 1 to 1. He was like this in the show. He didn't have "murdering machine details".

You really feel that’s a fair price to pay for what these are?
Nothing in this world is free or fair.

no light up eyes, no hand tentacles, no extra figures, no battle damage parts…
No Blackjack, no hookers.

Posted by: @swoop716

even if they’re supposed to be smooth, it seems kind of lazy imho to omit any sort of detail that would lead you to think it was a machine, rather than some weird human.

Sigh...It's a CARTOON Sentinel. He was smooth and plain in the show.

And that perfectly fine.

Yes, but if you wrong or your opinion is stupid, you get "called out". It's the Internet, what do you want?

Oh my fucking god...

It's still is. Even if this site didn't work half of the time. And people did discuss your opinion.

The only other Xmen 97 figure I have is the previous limited articulation Sentinel but I’ve ordered one of these as well cos the kid in me is still impressed\fascinated by oversized action figures.

Swoop, you're the one picking at other people at this point. Please stop.

I really wish this was $150. I think at that price everyone would be fine. It just feels like that extra $5 Bushwacker got, and then Crystal - it's the creep.

Yikes

Maybe if it came with a swappable damaged arm and leg… or an alternate damaged torso…

as it is it looks very plain and basic for 200

I would order three at 100 a pop…

as it is…It’s too…smooth…

it lacks those cool details that would make one think it’s a mutant murdering machine.

It looks more like a big weirdo in a pink unitard…

they are $174.99 not $200
