Absolutely without a doubt the Brown costume for me.

Definitely the brown costume. I made a comment on the old forum about how comic-booky the Outback team looked. Something about it gives me a hit of dopamine every time I see it even though I don't have a personal connection to those stories. Thinking more about it and the '80s cover from the last page, I think it's the colors. They shouldn't necessarily work together, but they really pop.

Forgive me if this has been addressed, but how are Wolvie's shoulder pads attached? Pinned into the biceps like the old Wolverine figures, or looped through the shoulder pegs like newer Iron Man figures or Baron Zemo's fur?

So, which is your favorite Wolverine costume?

Brown, both aesthetically and I guess for pure nostalgia. The height of my love of comics was around 1984-1989, and the brown costume is just indelibly "my" Wolverine.

So, which is your favorite Wolverine costume? If I could only choose one, I would probably go with the brown because I think it looks better. But when all is said and done, he ended up wearing the the yellow for longer, (and during the Animated Series). So I think they’re probably both equally iconic. Which one is best is basically just of matter of preference.

I definitely prefer the brown. He started wearing that costume shortly after I started getting X-Men comics, and to my eye it just looks way better. Being a character named Wolverine, it never made sense why he was colored like a banana.

So I totally get the love for the  brown and tan costume.   I loved Paul Smith's run and that's the suit he wore.

But for me the moment I absolutely fell for Wolverine - was in Uncanny 133.  It's just so iconic and badass.   As a fan of Cyclops up until that point I didn't appreciate Wolverine - he was a hot head who didn't strategize and was trying to steal Slim's girl.   But 133 brought me around -  it was just epic and awesome and the cover is iconic

And so for me - the blue and yellow will always be my default costume for the Canuckle Head

Man I go back and forth on the brown vs. yellow debate with Wolverine. Brown(and it's shades) is my favorite color and I loved when he changed to it but my first X-Men comic was also #133 and that is just so iconic to me. Based on the new figure and those rounded claws I would say yellow. Ask me next week and I would probably answer brown. SIGH. Why choose? How about a compound Wolverine like Hulk! Half Tiger stripe costume and half Brown costume! No? Okay. I'll just leave now..........

@sgtstinky lol!  The sad thing is, I would actually buy a compound Wolverine.

I only pre-ordered Wolverine and Magneto, the latter because he's one of my absolute favorite characters even though I think the figure looks pretty bad.

But having watched MCUCollector's review of Wolverine, I'm leaning heavily toward cancelling.

It's not that it looks bad, just not much of an upgrade. And there is so much stuff coming out right now. Maybe I'll pick them up if and when they go on sale.

My favorite is tiger stripe.  He was in the brown when I started reading X-Men beginning with issue #165, but I very quickly wanted the run from GSX1 to #164 and I knew he was wearing tiger stripe there.  So I always associated tiger stripe with the coolest run for Wolverine.

Totally biased preference!

If I had to pick out of those 2 I'd say the yellow one, because of the animated series. That was my entrance into the XMen. That's what got me hooked. That was his suit for me.

But my actual favorite suit he wore is the Astonishing. It's like a modified blue and yellow with a bit sleeker of a design. The color alterations were really good. And the way he was drawn for that run was close to perfect imo.

As for the figure, it looks like he still has the limitation in his feet. The way they're sculpted he can't do crouch poses without swiveling them to the sides. Not enough room between the foot and the ankle. It's not completely terrible. Just something I thought they'd try to fix.

My headcanon is Logan in brown and Laura in yellow. It's a great look for her.

Pretty sure that issue was one of the first comics I ever read because it was packed with ML3 Wolverine. Iconic issue.

Yeah, somehow John Byrne managed to make a hairy little man dressed in bright yellow look like a total badass.

But I always thought the yellow and blue was a weird choice to begin with, so I think I'd still have to go with the brown costume.

Dwayne Turner was my first Wolverine artist and I still think he's arguably the best at portraying Logan's rage especially in a torn up suit.  As a result I tend to prefer him in his 90s blue & gold suit with the absurdly large shoulder paldrons like Texiera and the Kuberts drew him.  I love the way Jim Lee drew him, but it's always hairy little nutcase Wolverine with plenty of baggage to support his own series and rogue's gallery for me.  Him running the Jean Grey school as a headmaster was such a neutering of the character in my opinion, considering that in the 90s the X-Men were basically covertly harboring a serial killer given how the government and outside world would see him.  Sabretooth's captivity phase notwithstanding, I always liked that aspect of the school serving as a front for Xavier's mutant soldiers.  Wolverine was loyal to the X-Men and in turn his "family" protected him from all the people that would want to take him back to his old life.
