BBTS was the one place I was aware of that still had the Storm/Thunderbird 2pk from a couple of years ago in stock for around original retail price. It is now sold out.
Something can sit around readily available for years, but if it finally shows up in a movie or TV show, FOMO will hit fanboys hard.
I'd say chances for a single card re-release for Storm are high. Even without factoring in the latest episode, they aren't going to get any other characters out of that unique sculpt.
Storm with new elbows, please.

I'm not too proud to admit they could get me to rebuy that costume with just this and no other changes.
Honestly I probably would too. And then I'd end up painting the wrists or something just to make them a little different, and since they were a different color in the game.
Double elbows have never been a huge deal for me. If they can go 90 degrees, I'll typically be satisfied with that.
I don't have very many complaints about FA Storm, she is one of the nicer efforts Hasbro has put out in recent memory with a dedicated sculpt, two good heads, alternate capes, and variations of paint finishes. My only complaint is her upper torso and hips. She was drawn curvier by Cockrum and Byrne and Hasbro, it seems, did not want to go there. Still a great figure.
I don't like the elbows on her, not because they're not double, but because the disc is extremely exposes when it's bent. Like you can see it plain as day, and it breaks up the look. Even if they gave her single elbows, but made them better like most of their female figures, I'd be fine. They just look bad on this Storm.
And Hasbro loves to just not sexify things. It's like they think we're all 10 year olds still. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm not looking for Hentai figures. I'm not looking for something like what Loose Collector did. I just want them accurate to source material. When they alter and change things just cause they *think* it looks too "hawt," that bugs me. I got MAFEX Psylocke recently. That figure is damn near perfect. Why? Cause it looked like it jumped off the page. Is it super sexified? I don't think so. Looks exactly like she should. Hasbros version, face is off, hair is off, body type is off. Legs are wonky, they don't look right. Face looks fine but not like Psylocke. I didn't realize how off Hasbros was until I got the MAFEX version. The one from the 375 box is better then the other 2, but it's still not perfect. At least the face is better on that one.
Well, they got me. With how good the season has been (haven't seen the finale yet), I had to start snagging the figures before they became even harder to get. Got Storm and Bishop last week, and managed to snag Wolverine on BBTS- one with "substandard packaging" got thrown up for sale, so I snagged it. Learned my lesson from last time, where he popped up for order again and I didn't jump on it and it sold out; I'm an opener anyway, so beat up packaging ain't no thang for me. I have wave 2 pre-ordered with EE, but I may just start picking it up piecemeal if I can manage. Gambit I have pre-ordered on a couple sites now, so as long as those restocks happen, I should be good. Both Magnetos are still pretty plentiful around me, so the only one I'm really missing is Rogue, and she's going for a couple pretty pennies online. Haven't seen any pre-orders for restocks, but hopefully those happen. I can't see them not re-releasing wave 1, given the reception of the show; I can't imagine those characters wouldn't be in huge demand right now.
One thing's for sure- whatever waves they announce in the future, I'm pre-ordering them right away!
Safe to say that the show has been a hit and it sure seemed to help move units from Wave 2. I'm sure more saw, but it was confirmed that Hasbro had only planned on two waves in support of the first season so no third wave right now like many were hoping. Given it has been a success, I'm sure one is being planned and it would make a lot of sense to reissue some of the figures already released as a holdover. It will be interesting to see if they essentially do another Season One wave when it does return as there are certainly a lot of looks and characters they could turn to, or if it will be focused on the second season. The logical choice would be do both in the same vein as the first two waves where Hasbro is granted a look at a couple of early season two villains to mingle in with a bunch of X-Men.
You could easily fill another two waves with the characters who appeared on the show this season. I didn't get the HasLab Bastion, so I hope a re-release is in the cards.

Agreed - there is a ton of meat left on the Season 1 bone such that they could have squeezed 4 full waves out of that easily. But I also understand Hasbro's hesitancy to commit to more than 2 waves before knowing how the show would do. If the show had bombed - and in theory it could have - then these 2 waves might have been more of the same peg clogging product that stores just got out from under.
It's very gratifying that the show is a big hit. And I'm sure Hasbro is kicking themselves for not having a third wave teed up and ready to go now that Wave 2 has sold through consistently and the show has been successful. If Hasbro hasn't inserted a new wave for '97 into the queue ahead of something else on their 2025 schedule they are missing the boat.
They were probably thinking that two waves for one show might be overkill, so I'm sure they're more ecstatic than ready to kick themselves to know they were wrong and both waves were smash success sellouts.
Has any other Disney Plus show gotten two waves before X-Men '97?
Oh I agree they are happy with how well the first two waves are selling, for sure. But given that I do think they wish they might have had a 3rd wave ready to hit the switch on once it was clear this was a hit.
Now that the show is done dropping new episodes though there will likely be a little lull in in the X97 mania - so maybe they're right to wait with the next wave until there's momentum building for season 2.

I agree, I'm predicting a lull. There's going to be a long wait for season 2, there is no wave 3 of figures planned, and I think it's then that some of these bonkers after market prices start to cool a bit. Heck, I still think BBTS gets a restock of Wolverine and Rogue.
I definitely think a Wave 3 is very close to ready to go into production - which means it's coming end of this year/next year. There's almost zero chance Hasbro hasn't already prototyped the rest of the main cast and almost any character they had designs for for this exact scenario. It's X-Men - '97 doesn't matter that much.
