Of interest to toy collectors, looks like X-Cutioner's (pronounced Executioner in the show) gun is supposed to feature that clear, cylindrical, piece over the barrel. Hopefully a bunch of people didn't toss it thinking Hasbro included it to protect the item in the box.
Ha! I actually kept it, because I thought it was a neat addition! Go, Past Me!
@tenime I actually kept it because I was like: thiiiiis has got to be here for a reason and I'll be annoyed if I throw it out, won't I. Tossed it in a bag with the other pieces just in case.
Ended up working remotely this morning so I had time to watch Ep 1 - and even Ep 2. 🙂 AND OPEN MY BRAND NEW TOYS at the same time!!!
Dream come true to have Jean while enjoying this show.
The end credits where they spin the character models but don't do everyone is hilariously throwback but also SO FRUSTRATING - just do them all, or rotate who doesn't get a turn.
The animation itself feels like it needs an extra frame to not feel stuttery - I'm sure there's a proper term for that. And I wish more close-ups had catchlights in their eyes. But all in all, I really liked it. And I was surprised where it went. I LIKED where it went, and the new Magneto immediately became necessary. That's a great costume change for him AND the figure looks even better without the cape - the long neck helps the bare arms.
I need to add a bit of red to Rogue's front bangs, and her colors seem just a bit off, but these figures really capture these looks well. Aside from Scott's weird lips and big head, and X-Cutioner's colors. I retroactively really like this Storm. 🙂
But what I really want now is the X-Men in casual clothes. I want that line-up, in those outfits.
Also, I loved the new opening title rotating existing snippets of history into rotation so they can update the character designs - to then merchandise them. Because that's what X-Men really represents to me - merch. 🙂 Morph turning into so many characters already is sinisterly genius. 🙂
I'm gonna watch the season when they put up the last episode and just binge it like I do everything else. It's good to hear people really liking it. I'm hoping I do as well lol.
I REALLY enjoyed the show, and I'm happy to see all the "cameos" that Morph transforms into. I could see this as a potential way to get new decos of characters like Blob that sold out, while not being straight-up retreads.
I regret not getting a 97 Wolverine to display carded.
Yeah... that second episode went so hard, I was kind of shocked. I found myself - weirdly for me - wanting a Val Cooper figure - just in her power suit and glasses. With the way the episode ended for Storm I'm wondering if the series is going to do an adaptation of the Lifedeath storyline and introduce Forge?
For a wave 3 of figures it feels like we have to get Morph, Jubes and Sunspot and probably Beast. But obviously I have no idea what other directions this show is going to move in. They already gave us Nightcrawler and Goblin Queen (spoilers)... so there are obviously any number of characters we haven't seen yet that could be at play.
Obviously since we know Maddie's on hand Mr. Sinister won't be far behind, but I do not really feel like I need another Mr. Sinister figure frankly and am hoping they'll resist that temptation.
Absolutely loved the first two episodes, especially the second one. Lightyears ahead of the 90s show, for me at least (although I’ve been giving the original a rewatch lately and I’m enjoying it more this time around). It does indeed “go hard” and it’s amusing that “those guys” are mad about Morph being enby when “those guys” are themselves the literal villains of the show with almost no allegorical distance. The specific vocabulary used about the FoH and their specific crimes was . . . satisfying.
Is Ep.2 the best-ever characterization of Magneto in non-comic book media ever? I kinda think so. So nuanced. Purple jammies Magneto is like a perfect representation of the look from the show, down to the expressions on the faces. It’s weird that Cyclops is such a whiff with the head when Magneto, Logan and others are so strong.

2 upcoming episodes are titled Lifedeath, so they're definitely adapting it to some degree
@panthercult As fenrys mentioned we're definitely getting Lifedeath. The *real* question is will we be getting the post LIfedeath battle between depowered Punk Storm and Cyclops in the Danger Room for leadership of the X-Men.
Considering the way they're setting up Cyclops's inability to quit the team this season already, my money says yes and I am here for it.
I was skeptical of the show but dang, those first two eps really nailed it. I'm not even a big Scott fan but that "flyclops" moment was so rad even I had to love it. And Storm on the desert? Bruh. Hook it to my veins. And liek everyone else is saying the Magneto portrayal is excellent. His talk with Rogue about the memory of Charles, very good, and very suggestive in all the ways I think X-Men should be. This show is like the OG series and an anime fanfilm had a baby in all the best ways.
I thought I was going to pass on purple suit Magneto but methinks I have to pick it up now...
When are we getting slutty crop top Gambit, Hasbro?!

These 2 episodes made me really like Storm and Cyclops for the first time, and Morph's use of his powers as both a support unit (Archangel and Blob) and as a tank (Deathstrike, Colossus and Psylocke) was fantastic. Definitely looking forward to more episodes and I really hope they can keep it up. This is by far one of the best show revivals I've seen.

Forge appeared several times in the original show, so I think it's logical to assume he'll be involved in trying to retore Storm's powers. Obviously, there will be some differences, since Forge and Storm don't already have a relationship, but I'm looking forward to how it's going to play out.

He's definitely going to be in this show, back when they first revealed character art for the series Forge was on one of the slides that showed off the new designs for the team. I think he was on the same image that showed Nightcrawler and Morph.
I tried this:
And now I need another Maddie. 🙂 Wasn't going to open her until next week, but then I wanted baby Nathan. I wish she wasn't so pink, but this hair and coloring is exactly what I wanted. 🙂
