I like the three Iβve received so far. Cyclops is a lot cooler without the shading, and I am not as worried about handling this figure since it cost me half as much.
X-cutioner is a cool figure of a new (to ML and my shelf) character.
Nightcrawler is my favorite, but I dint like that the red paint on mine is not applied fully in some places.
I threw Goblin Queen on a loose DC Multiverse flight stand. The peg is almost a perfect match for her foot and the clear plastic piece for the flight stand keeps her from falling backward.

They need to include a clear plastic stand that pegs into the foot and has a clear plastic support between the toes and the heel for characters that have heels.
I might be in the minority here, but I'd really like to see Nate Grey added to the shoiw at some point in the future if they exdpand the roster of characters. Not that we needΒ a "3rd cable" technically running around if the trailer is anything to go by, but I feel like the team still needs a Beyond-Omega level telepath on their team and Nate feels like the perfect fit.
As much as I love Nate Grey, I canβt see him being part of this first season. Maybe an end of season reveal at most.
I don't really see Nate Grey needing to be revealed unless they do some sort of modified AOA storyline, which we know the first season wont be since it's more or less Inferno 1.0.Β I think if they did something like Fatal Attractions in season 2 with Xavier coming back and Magneto becoming more militant to the point where the X-Men break ranks with him running the school it would lay the groundwork for other stories.Β I wouldn't mind if Xavier came back to warn of the expanding destruction caused by the M'Kraan Crystal only to bring about Age of Apocalypse since we never got it in Wolverine and the X-Men.Β I'd really like if they did Phalanx Covenant properly too rather than just a 2 parter from the original series, but I think something along the lines of New Mutants and the formation of X-Force would be more likely.Β Crimson Dawn might make a good 2 parter if Psylocke guest stars along w/ Sabretooth, and Archangel, plus if it gets us a new 90s Betsy body I won't be opposed.
Oh and Beau DeMayo got fired today for some reason.Β At this point I'm just along for the ride and hope they didn't just drop the figures early because they feared the show would be lackluster and interest in the corresponding figures would wane.Β I've most or less just used this line a means of upgrading to better bodies for some of my core X-Men figures.Β

You sure he's been fired? The one article I can find about it (from Giant Freakin Robot) links to a 404 not found, so looks like their story has been taken down.

A lot of angry boys on social media don't like De Mayo and accuse him of making the X-Men "woke" so I definitely wouldn't believe everything I see online regarding his job security.
I get the impression that this new series wants to fall back onto the mutant/human conflict more in line with the first and second seasons of the show. I could not disagree more about the cast needing another powerful mutant among its ranks for the X-Men. I think the team is well-balanced for story-telling purposes and, like the original show, wouldn't expect many, if any, permanent alterations to the core cast. There's plenty there for a good show so hopefully they stick the landing.

I'd say those people were never fans of X-Men to begin with 🤣Β
Β
I mean what on earth do the X-Men have to do with better representations of minorities?
Claiming that anyone, at any point, is making the X-Men "woke" will never not be funny.Β Β

You can't make someone something that they've been since birth...
I think we're fortunate the show got pushed back, imagine if I'd dropped with wave 1 of the figs, we'd just be getting wave 2 and interest would be wanning while we wait for next season, wave 2 would stagnateΒ and a wave 3 might not happen, at least now we're soaking up wave 1 and 2 in anticipation and wave 3 can ride the wave for the summer release? Hopefully?Β
I also wouldn't might a gear shift back to more comic figs, still need more star jammers and Astonishing releases, also would love more VHS releases, even under a Spiderman VHS banner, give us the ones that didn't make it out last time
@fenrys I'm guessing most of them are bad-faith actors who never cared about X-Men to begin with. And, yeah, there are probably a few idiots in there who just liked it when short guy got mad and slashed stuff and never picked up on the obvious subtext.

That's exactly what it is, even as a child in the 90s I understood that X-Men was an allegory for minority rights and inclusion, anyone that doesn't understand that is willfully ignorant and definitely acting in bad faith.
Β
@misfit it's always someone who reads X-Men solely for Wolverine and/or Cable.
Looks like the rumors are actually true this time:Β Beau DeMayo out
Pretty shocking considering we're on the eve of the show premiering. Creative differences? I'm guessing whatever the reason we'll find out eventually.
