I've felt the same way for 5+ years, but Doom has flipped me upside down like a beetle on his back madly wiggling to get back upright. I'm starting to see the aesthetic appeal now, but only on some of them. I did like Black Bolt and Lockjaw from the start, and I'm slowly starting to consider others with Goblin calling to me the loudest right now. He really does look ripped right from Ditko's art. I had Bishop '97 in my top 20 Legends for 2023, but now I'm wondering why I don't have the Mezco Bishop. He looks to be the best ever made in twelfth scale and blows Bishop '97 away.
But back to '97 chat--Goblin Queen looks like the real winner of wave 2. Her head sculpt is just divine and perhaps the best female face I've seen in years.
I just received my X-Cutioner from Amazon! He's Definitely a fun and cool-looking figure, I prefer the design & color scheme to his comic-depiction (I miss the segmented claw-gloves though!), and it's nice that he's well-packed with gear! Don't really get why the cap on the rifle comes off though? He looks great scheming with Bastion and Nimrod (still would love a "Zero-Tolerance"-era version, just needs a new "human head" and hands, although they could go the extra distance and sculpt the sleeves/pant-legs & cuffs! I know X-Cutioner seems a tad short, but he works fine for me, since he's just a normal dude in a powered-suit! Also, We Need AHAB!!! 🤩
Don't really get why the cap on the rifle comes off though?
MCUCollector24 was similarly confused in his review, but his guess was that it's just packing material to prevent the gun from warping in package.

To be clear--MCUCollector24 didn't know what it was for, and I don't have the figure yet. I wouldn't throw it away until we get more input or ideas about what it is, because I don't ever remember them including any kind of packing material like that with a figure before.
if you’re missing the gloves from the comic, maybe try a set of hands from a Spiderverse Prowler, they might work.
Got my shipment from BBTS of Cyke, Jean, Maddie, and the best X-Man of all, Nightcrawler! LOVE these figures...pure hand candy! I did swap a head (smiling) and hand (cutlass holding hand) from the Wendigo Wave Nightcrawler onto this one, as I prefer the portraits on that one, and I wanted him to be able to do some swashbuckling. It's a damned-near perfect representation of Kurt now!
Maddie will definitely be a challenge, as I can't get her to stand at all. May have to swap out those feet. Otherwise, she is fantastic looking. Jean is way better than I expected as well, and she actually has no problem remaining upright. Wish she'd come with some sort of energy effect, since Goblin Queen had some, but that is a minor nitpick.
Cyke is the biggest surprise of the wave. I never got the VHS Cell Shaded one, so this guy is pretty much all new for me. SUCH an improvement over the Warlock Wave figure, which has been in my display for some time now. Only downside is the more passive headsculpt is rather soft, but I'm planning on displaying him firing his eye beams anyway, so it's pretty much a non-issue for me.
Alright Hasbro...hurry up and announce Wave 3!

Amazon's policy of marking brand new figures in some demand up above MSRP if they don't have online competition at a given time is so damn irritating. For the last few days they've had X-Cutioner priced at $27.98 because there aren't any other online retailers selling it at the moment and there are no other retailers on Amazon selling at that price either. 😠
I'm so happy for this brave new online world that enables this. I guess the days where retailers will just use MSRP are obsolete and they can just immediately auto-ream us now. 🧐

Anyway, found Jean at WM today on the way home from the doctor. Cancelled Amazon. I think this is my winner for the wave. Her Jim Lee look is my all-time favorite and this is a nice what if evolution. She'll go up on my 90s comic X-Men shelf with the 'Love Triangle' one for sure. I wouldn't even mind a retool in the proper Gold Team outfit in the future either.

Awesome! Thank you. I picked up this Magneto figure just because the head sculpts were so good. I wanted to find somewhere to put the extra one.
I got in Wave 2 from Pulse, and this Wave is excellent! I really like every figure. Even the weird Magneto is really cool.
It's hard to pick a favorite. I'm so happy to get X-Cutioner and Goblin Queen. Yet, Jean and Cyclops are perfect. I'd say Nightcrawler and X-Men Leader Magneto are my least favorites of the Wave, but I still really like both of those figures as well.
Got Rogue, X-Cutioner, and Goblin Queen. These are excellent figures! Even better than I expected. The face sculpts and face prints on Rogue and Goblin Queen are really nice.
X-Cutioner was a favorite figure of mine in the 90s, so it’s really cool to get an updated figure of him now. This new X-Cutioner is great! Fun dynamic poseability despite the coat. I remember the old 90s figure was so limited by the design. Love all the weapons. So fun to get such a nice upgraded X-Cutioner figure!
