Has anyone tried one of the older Cyclops heads on the new body? Like from the Love Triangle pack? I think I'm gonna use one of those or the Warlock wave head, depending on which color matches. And that's if they are a straight swap. I'm not gonna drill out or mod those older Cyclops heads for this new body. Not at how much they may be on the aftermarket. If I fuck up, replacing it could cost a kidney lol.
Warlock Wave Cyclops's "yellows" are more gold and better match Juggernaut Wave's Rogue and Apocalypse Wave's Wolverine tiger stripe suit. VHS Box Cyclops would likely be the closest fit, but if you don't have that Love Triangle's Cyclops' yellows would be probably the closest. I wouldn't drill out that figure just to see if it'll fit on 97's body. Skim Reddit and here and Instagram, invariably someone else will try your recipe out first and you can see how well it worked or didn't. I have all 3, and quite honestly don't know why I bought 97 Cyclops, his head looks more like KidVid from the Burger King Kid's Club given how soft the sculpt is. I'll most likely either put ruby quartz glasses Scott's head (from Love Triangle 3pk) on the body or see about the MCU Ikarus head with the electricity eyes on it. I saw people both cut the lightning effect off and color the eyes red, as well as just coloring the lightning effect red to be used on other figures as a "glasses/visor off" Scott Summers.
And for what it's worth Target exclusive Black Window showed us all they could do a very well done ab crunch for a female figure finally. And still they give us "Mostly Mannequin" Marvel Girls.
I got Magneto on Wednesday and X-Cutioner on Thursday. Amazon still has Cyclops, Jean, and Goblin Queen for April 1st and Nightcrawler for March 18th. I still have my Pulse preorder and they sent an email that my order will process soon. I remember when Amazon used to be super reliable with preorders but for the last couple of years they've dropped the ball. Not just for Legends but also Classified Series, Multiverse, etc.

I'm more worried about the blues matching and not having to actually modify the head. The yellows can be explained away as the visor being metal. But the blues not matching would be the deal breaker. And I don't wanna mod the head so I can have it swap back to the old body if I need or want to.
I found Cyclops, Jean, and Magneto yesterday. I don’t like that costume for Magneto, so I left it. Great head sculpts though. One Cylcops had an imperfection on the end of the nose, and the other had a crazy crooked visor that I wasn’t sure I would be able to correct, so I left those. I did pick up both Jeans though, as I really like both head sculpts. I still have Cyke and Maddie on preorder elsewhere. I might get Magneto on sale for the head sculpts.
Anyone know or care to speculate if the nightcrawler will be compatible with the last nightcrawler heads? I don't care for the new nightcrawler head, but I like that it's pinless joints, and the original nightcrawler had like three different heads, back when Marvel Legends actually cared about quality, and I also have a custom head from Corey at Casting Cave for the first Nightcrawler.
I read the blues don't match for the tail and head though. But if Kurts new body has some issues like I've read on here when I get him I'm probably gonna do the limb swap instead of the head swap like I planned.
@trunks3540 The blue on the new one is a bit different, but nothing I find terribly distracting between the old head & new tail. That kinda stuff only really bothers me when it's a harsh transition, like head to neck or hands to wrist.
Had Nightcrawler and Cyclops delivered last night. I can see how Kurt's hair wouldn't be to everyone's liking, but overall I dig the figure - given how few Nightcrawlers we have, any variation is fun and the buck is great. (Wish he came with a bit more on the accessories side but that's fine.)
Cyke is more cartoon-y than I was expecting. I think the head sculpt does what it sets out to do, but didn't realize how much I wasn't into it til I had him in hand.Not a bad figure, just caught me off guard.
Supposed to get Madelyne today. That's the one I'm most intrigued by - always great to see a character we haven't had before, even if it's not the classic version.
I got Nightcrawler today. The butterfly joints remind me of the early Pizza Spider-Man releases, specifically the symbiote version. The joint moves, but I feel like the peg is twisting as opposed to actually rotating as intended. Has anyone figured out how to get this moving properly? Freezing work? Or is that the most you can expect from this guy?
EDIT - yeah, freezing will help - but there still isn't a big range of motion there.
Comparing this new release with the last Nightcrawler, pinless joints aside, it is superior in every way. Solid paint and sculpted details on the gloves and boots are fantastic. If these end up be available discounted later, I may pick up a 3rd Nightcrawler to put the other alternate original release head on. Great upgrade.
Madeline Pryor arrived and I am surprised by how pink her skin is. Like bride of Deadpool Shiklah pink. She’s otherwise quite pretty in the face and has decent articulation, though her knees feel too easy to bend. The bebe accessory is very cute.
I think the normal head on Cyclops was meant to be more of a scowl. The sculpt literally feels like it was going for a scowl and the painted lips are what are creating the strange looking smirk.
Jean does have articulation under the belt! She was in stock at a GameStop nearby yesterday and I couldn't put off my inner seven year old any longer. Opened her up today and aside from the weird blue gap between her cowl and her hair, I really like this figure. She feels sturdy, not top heavy, and both heads are great. I like her alt left hand, and I love how she looks in the package. Definitely keeping a carded version around - dreams do come true. 😉
Saw these all in store, still waiting on Pre orders, I will be canceling cyclops, that head is horrible, the face looks like a fisher price sculpts and when you have a pic of the source material right beside the fig it's super jarring, it's not an issues of it being animated, it's just a bad sculpt.
I picked up Jean and the body is amazing, her heads are tiny though and having her right next to Madelyn makes that even more obvious, might throw comic heads on the body as it's quite the upgrade.
Magneto is a big boy, gunna look weird next to the classic from wave one cause he was way too tiny, heads are nice though

Got Big M Magneto today, the heads make for a decent Joseph / Magneto clone from the late 90s when put on Uncanny 275 male bodies. Gonna swap one of Gambit's legs over to Forge to avoid the black neck cowl, while getting rid of Forge's techno-leg. It looked decent enough though. The extra head I can use for other Magneto bodies. The long flowing hair from the sides and back would even make for a decent head for AOA Magneto as he sorta has the pigtails just minus the braids. Obviously not as long as in the comics. But pleased to finally have a Joseph to go to with Maggott.
