Magneto is pretty great, heads aren't too animated looking. Also they managed to make a set of pinless forearms without a glove cut.
X-Cutioner - I'm happy to have one but he's very stylized and feels like the figure is constantly getting in the way of being posed. His torso ball joint has way more motion to one side than the other because of the brown vertical strap.

Unfortunately they're massive ape arms. I've almost canceled this Magneto a few times because of how much I dislike the arms.
The chains from that crappy movie Lex work pretty well if you want a Trial of Magneto pose on your shelf https://imgur.com/a/pO0K2hR
Freed from a plastic and cardboard prison only to immediately end up in chains. Poor Eric.
I would buy every variation they want to release of those characters. I mean I freely admit that Wolverine is my weakness, I will buy every good or dumb variation of his looks they release because I have no willpower, but there's quite a few characters who need more love. The X-Factor question is a good one cos those would be, I think, mostly easy repaints or parts reuse. The original X-Factor suits were not that complicated. (And we already got Scott.)
Angel I always figured they hesitated to make because of the wings, but now that we've got one coming I will gladly let them mug me for my money if they do a few variants using that buck. Realizing I've got three Kitty Pryde figures but two could really be improved on (the original and the Marvel Unlimited exclusive). Iceman feels like a guy they struggle with, design-wise.
Am I crazy for saying I'd love a smaller Beast? I love the big boy they've made, but thinking of his early Avengers scale. Also a remake of human Beast. (Never my favorite look for him but I missed out on that five pack of their original looks, wouldn't hate a re-release.)
Avengers scale Beast is a HUGELy needed figure for me. They’ve done so well to tick off a lot of classic Avengers lately, he’s arguably the biggest gap in that area currently.
If you were gonna swap limbs on Kurt where would you suggest the swap be? For the legs and the arms? I'm just curious as for if I end up finding him, being prepared for it, and examining the one I have now to get an idea. It wouldn't be knees and elbows, cause, pinless. But for the legs, thigh or pull the whole leg from the hip barbell off? And for the arms, pop from the bicep or try to pull the arm out of the butterfly? Or can the butterfly come out and pull that? I would think the whole leg and then at the bicep, but I could be wrong depending on how the new Kurt is molded.
@trunks3540 I'll look into it more when I get home tonight, but I'd imagine the easiest way would be at the bicep & though swivels

This is the way I'd go as well, assuming the pegs are compatible. Shoulders should be the same, but the hips are definitely different. They are much more sturdy and solid on the '97 figure. Not that they aren't on the original, but those are designed so the legs can pop off the hip barbell easily. The new legs are designed like most, where the hips do not come off easily without a heat gun or something. I've never been able to pop hip joints off when they're ABS over ABS plastic, which is what the '97 has. That's also what seems to be limiting the range of motion compared to the original. But hopefully they can just be swapped at the swivel going from the hip into the thigh. The pegs should be compatible, but I've assumed that before, and gotten burned.
Got around to opening Cyclops...what a disappointment.
Head sculpts are very soft, not a fan.
Mine cannot keep his torso up-right. He is essentially a hunchback. No matter how many times I try to re-pose, he just slumps forward.
The belt also does not sit low enough and there is a visible gap between the belt and yellow tights. Cannot lower the belt as it is sculpted into the strap, which is sculpted into the body itself.
I switched out the heads with the VHS release, but there's still that bit of cel-shading on the visor.
Oh well...
@andru That sounds like a dud. Besides the soft head sculpts that I agree with, the rest of the issues sound like one-offs that I didn't find on mine. Maybe replace it? It sucks that you wound up with those issues though.

Well dang! Glad to know it's not an overall issue, not glad I got stuck with a dud ha.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Nightcrawler is a pretty nice improvement on the Wendigo BAF release.
I know the styles are not exactly the same, but Kurt blends in really well with the standard comics figures.
Isn't this Magneto a tweak of the one from the first wave? The more I look at the previous one and blowups of the new one the more it looks to me like they sculpted new shins with a cut and new feet, removed the detail from the forearm and shin and underoo detail from the top of the leg. I like the result more than the Vulcan body, a little more slim than that one. Both Magnetos have the ape arms.Magneto is pretty great, heads aren't too animated looking. Already considering getting one just for the cape. Looks like it would be a more classic style cape to put on the Spiderverse Prowler. Nifty.
Scott and Jean hit my PoL. Nothing yet on Maddy. I'll be waiting a little bit to ship them though to see if she's coming in soon as well, and there are some other figures that may come out this month too. So many times I ship my PoL thinking nothing is coming and as soon as I do another thing drops the next day. Sucks...
I've been able to pull hard plastic hips off of hard plastic barbells before but it's not easy and usually causes stress marks or can break the joint in the process, even with heat. My Pizza Spidey is a perfect example. I wanted to yank those legs off to give him more rom, like I saw other people do, and now he has stress marks on his legs that are glaringly obvious. Also had the legs floppy loose after I put them back on. Required some super glue just to get them tight enough for him to stand. And the harder plastics don't respond to heat like the softer ones do. It's almost useless. I'll have to mess with him when I end up getting Kurt. Hopefully he's not hard to find. If he is, I am still happy with the one I have, cept for the knees.
Has anyone tried one of the older Cyclops heads on the new body? Like from the Love Triangle pack? I think I'm gonna use one of those or the Warlock wave head, depending on which color matches. And that's if they are a straight swap. I'm not gonna drill out or mod those older Cyclops heads for this new body. Not at how much they may be on the aftermarket. If I fuck up, replacing it could cost a kidney lol.
GameStop shipped my entire set in one big box and was delivered today in just three days. The sculptor for me missed the mark with Cyclop's heads. That is all I have to say about that figure. Magneto's heads are just wow, great sculpt and perfect size for the body used. I'm thinking of grabbing an extra. Goblin Queen, looks great, nice details and head sculpts perfect size for the body. I do believe she is just a little on the tall side. Jean Grey, no torso articulation at all. I don't know why Hasbro couldn't have done the same thing for Jean as they did for the torso for Goblin Queen. The head sculpts are a little small for the body, great details on the legs though. X-cutioner, looks great with the details and extras but short and head sculpt is small. Nightcrawler, sculpted details is a big plus for this body and I don't mind the head sculpts or facial shadows. It's not a bad wave but not as good as I would have imagined.
Jean doesn't even have a ball waist under the belt? That's crazy!
