I had to try multiple times over the years to get into X-Men Evolution. I finally watched the whole show some time last year. I like it quite a bit, but I think the costume designs are the weakest aspect of the whole thing for me - not something I'd be terribly interested in getting figures of.

Wolverine and the X-Men, though? Sign me right up! Shame that it and EMH were cut down in their prime.

I felt the same way about Spectacular Spider-Man. The characterization and stories were some of the better outings for a Spider-Man cartoon and big chunks of the design work some of the most unfortunate.

If we have to take a new animated inspiration, I’d prefer W&tX over Evolution, even though I never watched it. I just feel like the W&tX designs could better integrate with future Astonishing Xmen figures in display, whereas Evolution wont really go with anything.

But if were the conversation is just about starting a new era of Xmen figures, I think the obvious choice is New Xmen black leathers.

Evolution was just some damn good storytelling, in many instances better than XTAS. The Brotherhood/Sentinel arc, it's fallout, the Apocalypse build up leading to a spectacular finale, and during that time they were able to flesh out the characters so much.

The salt in the wound was that perfect wrap up scene where the Professor showed the future he glimpsed in Apocalypse's mind. It was great they gave us that knowing it was the end, but all that wasted potential was sad to see go. I didn't connect with Wolverine and The X-Men nearly as much as I did with Evolution. It just felt like the stakes were higher in the latter.

Since it's a major part of the promo campaign for the new show, I certainly hope so!

I'd love for them to make Beast and Professor Xavier for the VHS sub-line. It seems like that might be the best way to get an affordable Professor X with his hover chair.

Most of the Evolution outfits were decent. But I also buy figures of things I really enjoy, even if they are a bit plain. If a good ass John Wick figure wasn't like $100 I'd have one of those, and it's just a dude in a suit with a gun. And buying a good painted John Wick head is almost the same price lol. (I'm exaggerating on that a little, but the point is it's expensive). So customizing one on an ML body is not easy either.

The Evo outfits weren't the best, but I loved the show, and the stories, and the characters. And I would absolutely find space for them if I I knew I was getting the entire team.

One of my favorite things they did in Evolution was introduce Beast in his human form first. Loved seeing him as the Big Science Teacher Coach Guy before he got all blue and fuzzy. Just wish we could have gotten to see him in the classic red-and-blues.

X23 was probably my favorite part of the series, but that's saying alot cause I loved almost all of it. The episode where they had Captain America comes to mind too, I really enjoyed that.

I thought some of the costumes were alright, others I thought were wonky looking.  I only caught episodes here and there, so I never full understood the "live at a school, then attend an outside high school as well" aspect of the show.  From what little I remember Magneto and Mystique were involved with running the outside high school too.

Wolverine and the X-Men was preferable in that it seemed to try to include more notable mutants up front that would come and go as needed like the comics typically do.  As for figures of it I'd be fine with them, but no real desire for the Cyclops look from it.  The duster coat I never felt suited him or made him more edgy, it seemed like he just became more despondent.  Plus they left us hanging for those of us that wanted to see an animated Age of Apocalypse.

Mine is estimated on March 1 now, and I don't even have Prime.

Well that is alot faster then expected. Wonder if bbts will get theirs in early too. I'm a little unhappy, since I cancelled Kurt, cause I wasn't sure I'd have enough in April. Now he's presold out. Hopefully I can find one later.
