At the same time, we literally just got Cyclops, Jean, Wolverine and Storm in the VHS line and Rogue, Gambit and Storm all had recent(ish) releases in the Retro line. Recent releases aren't a disqualifier for the 97 waves. They could have just as easily not had the traditional Magneto in the first wave, but there really wasn't much reason to have a Magneto in both waves in my opinion. I'd happily replace the Morph I made with one that doesn't need the cel shading stripped off of it since I wasn't able to cleanly get everything.

So what is the deal with the VHS line anyways?  Did it not sell well?

I remember hearing that Hasbro was putting it on hold in 2024 because they are planning to release a bunch of X-men '97 figures instead.  I know that it's on hiatus.  But could it possibly be finished?

Since it's a major part of the promo campaign for the new show, I certainly hope so!

What are the chances that they release a new or reissued Prof X figure in his yellow hover chair?

Xavier was rumored to be on a retro card. So we will see his figure this year, just not in the hover chair.

Many people have criticized this line for its reuse, lack of accessories, price, and bad cell-shading. And then these same figures showed up at other retailers. So who knows.

Doubt it, X-Men 97 will probably gonna take all the attention. At best they will release Gambit\Rogue two-pack sometime later and that's it.

I loved Evolution. It was an interesting take on the team when they were younger. Wolverine was still awesome. Goth Rogue and Goth Wanda were amazing. The show made me give a shit about Avalanche. X23 existing is the tits. And the stories were really good. I was indifferent to Spyke but I did like his later mutation with all the bones. I thought it looked cool. I would definitely take figures. I have a couple of the old ones but they don't hold up well, especially with all the action features and lack of articulation.

I enjoyed Wolverine and the XMen as well. That getting cancelled sucked. It was a fun ride. And I wanted to see their take on AoA. It almost felt like a cartoon version of the Astonishing story, but it differed so much lol. But the outfits and Emma being there, they should've went that way.

I doubt they'd give Morph a new body, even though I'd like that. The old one felt too big for him to me. But, reuse.

It's wild to me how they are getting rid of Disney+/Hulu account sharing on Mar 14.  Right around the same time they launch X-men '97 😭

And Hasbro need to get rid of all the Disney+\What If waves too. I realize that they have their...fans and they're not as bad as Eternals, but they're almost everywhere. Every time I see someone in the comments saying "make this character who showed up for 3 minutes in What If", I knew it will be another clearance pegwarmer.

And that's not good for the line.

At least put animated figures on a retro card (Spiderverse, X-Men 97) or something, I don't know...

That's just asking to pay more to not include a BAF. At least the What If? waves have those.

I did not know X23 came from X-Men Evolution, like Harley came from BTAS. I randomly found that out really recently and I watched that show, but I may have stopped by her intro. I think I was jaded that ToyBiz refused to make Jean, Rogue and Kitty. I held on to the Storm figure until only a few years ago. Loved her overall look and that her cape doubled as a base.

@nothing Hulu is expected to get the axe all together at some point this year. It will all be Disney+ in the US (like it is in the rest of the world) either in a tiered structure or at an inflated price.

Slew of thoughts surrounding the trailer and toyline

All the YouTube guys I've seen are just rolling with ProfX being dead, I'm thinking he's still out there with the Shi'ar and his funeral is just a formality or guise to explain his absence.

Love the looks, and feel a lot better about Bishops hair cut, especially seeing him in his lounge wear, really want to know what brought him back and why he's sticking around, also curious to see what they do with Cable, so many good cable/bishop stories they could tell

The look of the show is nice, it makes me wish we got a proper sub line where the sculpts matched the show entirely, not just making hair sculpts flat and faces less detailed to pass comic bucks off as source material based. Like when they did that for the first Miles Morales animated movie, Gwen and Pete I think, would look better as their animated selves and I wouldn't be torn getting mostly good looks with not so good heads

I really think a sentinel is possible in the main line now too.

And lastly I hope this year isn't just 97' figs, I need more star jammers and Astonishing characters to fill out the teams, hope they aren't bumping other things just for this lines sake

Hopefully, if this series does well, they decide to do at least one more season for the others, like Spider-Man, Iron-Man, the Fantastic Four, and the Hulk. 🙂

So, while I'm in the camp that very much enjoyed Evolution as a cartoon -  thought it was excellent at telling new stories about familiar characters -   I very much would NOT buy figures of the designs from that show.   That is simply not something I need in my collection at all.     I bought the 4" figures back when the show was on,  but sold them off awhile ago.     While the looks and designs work for the show I did not like how they worked on my shelf,  so if Hasbro decided to revisit them in 6" format I would skip those the way I skip MCU releases.

Anyone know where I could still get Wolverine for retail? Just noticed mine is completely missing the blue paint on his ass. :\

I would buy an entire line dedicated to X-Men Evolution. That show introduced me into everything X related as a kid. So much love for it.
