Just ordered Nightcrawler. While I like the one we have, I won't say no to a new, more poseable version to stand with the other Giant-Size X-Men.

How is Nightcrawler more poseable?

I was under the impression this figure had more poseability added to it than the previous. Is that not the case? Is the only difference (paints and head aside) pinless joints?

From what I can tell, yes, unless there are butterfly joints hidden there. It is hard to tell due to the coloration. The new pinless lower legs and forearms have his costume details sculpted on, too.

@sepster I believe the new Nightcrawler does indeed have butterfly joints. If you look closely on the 3rd product shot on Hasbro Pulse you can see it

Just checked the livestream again and yes, Dwight specifically calls out the pinless and sculpted limbs, as well as "torso butterflies". So it does seem like he has at least a little new articulation.

I get the move to wait for a price drop on these figures since Wave 1 was pretty easy to get most of them at a discount.

I ordered (almost) all of them at full price because I want to get more waves.

But, that being said,  if this wave gets clearanced at Target the way Wave 1 did  I will be buying extras.  Fingers crossed.

I preordered X-Cutioner because I love the character design and his figure from the 90s. I also preordered Goblin Queen because she’s a new character.

Not sure about the others now. They generally look like upgrades over the prior versions, so I’m thinking about it.

I never saw the last wave on clearance. I only ever saw pegs full of Magneto at Target. Never saw Storm in person. And I only saw Rogue in person for the first time at a comic shop recently for a higher price than normal.

Strangely my local Super Target never stocked the first wave of X-Men '97 Legends but got plenty of the Epic Heroes 3 3/4 scale versions. Right now they've got full pegs of MCU MJ and quite a few of the Infinity Saga figures, all at full price.

I always pre-order anything that I want personally because my local Super Target and Super Walmart will choose not to stock much. My local Gamestop usually only gets 1-2 of each figure. My local Walmart recently went almost 2 full years without putting any Legends on the pegs because they've still got Black Panther Legacy figures that they refuse to clearance out. They didn't stock any Marvel Legends in between those and the Marvels movie wave. That same Walmart hasn't stocked any new DC Multiverse figures since the Future State Jace Fox Batman came out. They've got like 12 of him on the pegs, a couple of Metal Duke Thomas and nothing else. I live in a town of about 80,000 people and visit these stores 2-3 times per weeks so it's unlikely that I would miss entire waves being offered.

I pre-ordered the whole 1st wave and everyone from this one except Magneto. I'm hoping for a Wave 3!!

It's interesting how many people are skipping that Magneto.   I'm stoked for that Mags -  it's a comic based costume that he sported for a minute.    So I'm eager to add that one to my collection -  more than the tiny Wave 1 version in a costume we've had multiple figures of - even if none of them have been perfect.

@panthercult I get the feeling the feeling that Magneto costume will be highly featured in X-Men '97, after the cartoon comes out I bet that figure as well as the Funko variant soda will have higher aftermarket than they do/would now. Just a guess though.

I'll probably buy the whole wave besides Nightcrawler as I have 3 or 4 of the Wendigo wave version.

I love this version of Magneto! Maybe my favorite figure in the whole wave.

That said: I *really* want his other good-guy costume, the one with the jumpsuit with the high-collar cape and the white gloves/boots. Hopefully that is coming some day: seems like it would be pretty easy on the Red Skull body.

Here's that image.  Hard to see since it's all black, but I do believe I also see butterfly joints in this pic.

That costume is so fabulous.

Despite recent conversations about ToyBiz' Legends line and the rose coloured glasses with a VERY thick lens, it is worth showing people who may not know the final scene of the original X-Men The Animated Series:

Despite the dire change in animation studio''s, the writing, dialogue and voice acting are so top tier and the Professors goodbye completely covers each X-Men's story perfectly in so few words. This is the legacy they should continue from.

For the record, Wendigo wave Nightcrawler also has butterfly joints. They just get blocked by his costume. This is not new or exclusive to the ‘97 figure.
