During the livestream today they definitely made it sound like there'll probably be a wave 3 of the '97 figs, so that was good to hear.

Honestly, I won't be surprised if we get 2 more waves. There's 5 members of the team left to do based on revealed artwork (Beast, Jubilee, Morph, Cable, and Sunspot) and a few villains as well (Mr Sinister, Emma Frost, Calisto, Sebastian Shaw amd another that I always forget the name of). Given how many of the team has gotten released/revealed already I won't be one bit surprised to get 97 specific versions of the remaining members.

Two more waves would be amazing since I'm loving these figures. I would love the waves to look something like this:

Wave 3:

Jubilee

Cable

Morph

Sunspot

White Queen

Sebastian Shaw

Wave 4:

Beast

Forge

Mr. Sinister

Callisto

Archangel

Psylocke

(Archangel and Psylocke are not confirmed to be in the cartoon but I'm really hoping they appear as I would love to see their new roles and designs going forward)

That would be a fantastic wave breakdown, though I'd position Archangel as a deluxe release, blue suit repaint of the Angel revealed yesterday with metal wings that can fold up like the feather wings (and an alt retracted pair of wings) and a blue skinned head (based on his last few appearances from X-Men the Animated Series).

Does Cyclops have forearm swivel or is that just a part of the sculpted design?  It looks really weird.  I can't imagine anyone wanting an articulation cut right there.

I just wish Hasbro wouldn't introduce new characters in this line before the comic version.  I will be picking up Goblin Queen because I don't know if she will be released with a different paint job for a comic version.  This version of X-Cutioner just doesn't work for me.

It's a left over seam from Cyclops using the Vulcan buck but different gloves, the VHS Cyclops was the same way

I preordered the Wolverine and Sabertooth set. Pretty sure Sabertooth is on a new body, or at least the one people have been wanting him on. And Logan is using the movie claws which is an interesting choice. I don't think thats bad persey, but they look a little big for this version of him. I would've preferred the 97/VHS claws. I'll end up ordering Angel too when he's available. I kinda wish Angel came in blue first, but I'm sure we'll get that one eventually. Lilandra and Brood Logan I'll probably wait for a sale unless I see them in person and I can't resist. Depends on when the other 2 packs come out is if I'll preorder them or not. But they all look good.

If I'm not mistaken, Sabertooth is using the Omega Red buck

You are totally right. I would put an inevitable civilian/alternate Logan in his place then.

I think they fit him in where they had the budget. There are relatively few new parts/accessories in this wave outside of Maddie. Plus, there's no BAF to eat up the tooling budget.

I wouldn't be surprised if he got a re-deco in a comic wave.

Apparently the preview for X-Men ‘97 shown at a Disney Panel (I think this past summer) there’s a sequence with Morph posing as Archangel, briefly; no indication of Betsy showing up so far for what that’s worth.

Pretty sure Jean is an all new sculpt as well

Got the '97 Wolverine and, yeah, like everyone says this is a great Wolverine. While the unmasked head is -great-, I really can't express how excited I was to finally have that classic Wolverine silhouette on my shelf with the masked head.

That being said, it's been a while since I played with an ML Wolverine and I was reminded of the things I wish they'd do differently. For one, I'd really like to see his shoulder-pads on an inner ring like we see on Star Wars figures, so that they can rotate independently and I'm not always adjusting them. And Wolverine really needs better ROM in the neck, and a ball-jointed waist or mid-torso. There's just some poses I really wish he could hit, but the current style of artic don't allow for. Not the end of the world, but my god you know they're going to do all this eventually and make me buy all these costumes all over again.

Pretty sure they said it was Omega Red in the stream.  The arms are new though since they don't have pins, the legs do have them so they must be Omega Red.

If the cartoon ever does come out, and is actually good, I don't see why the line can't be an ongoing thing.  It was huge in the 90s generating a lot of really cool looking figures.  Another series at least seems doable, but it has to have Cable (full size) as seen in the animation reveals.  I expect Morph, Beast, Sunspot and Jubilee of course on reused bodies.  Gimme Cable fully new.

I'm guessing the Vulcan buck was designed to allow easier color separation via different colored molded parts, so I'm cool with that seam. I'm guessing they glue the forearm since I don't think you can remove the Wakanda Forever classic comic Black Panther's gray glove forearms.
