Can't remember if I asked (or might have been on the previous forum) but is the '97 Cyclops the same body as the VHS version?

There is no 97 Cyclops, the wave consists of Magneto, Wolverine, Bishop, Storm, Gambit and Rogue.

This morning, these were all 17.49 at Amazon. All but Storm have reverted back to full price or third party.

Ah my bad! Not sure why I thought there was a Cyclops!

Awesome, thanks.  I'm mulling over which single purchase I should make with the 25% off so I guess I can add Storm to the list.

I ended up getting 97 Magneto when he was on sale.  The red hands don't bother me too much, but I prefer purple.  The pinless joints and the better cape was my justification for the purchase along with it being on sale.  If you do end up getting 97 Magneto (I assume he'll be one that goes on sale much further given that few are raving about him) the CastingCage pre-painted Magneto head is fantastic for a Jim Lee-style 90s Magneto.  It's not cheap for a head, but it looks pretty dead on for an unmasked 90s Erik and let's be honest, most of the unmasked Magneto heads we've gotten from Hasbro have wonky eyes or weird bangs on the hair.  It looks much better in person than even the site portrays.

Bear in mind I already own the Mafex Storm and Magneto's which are great, but given the price they seem extremely delicate overall, so I still "prefer" ML because they seem a little more "rugged" for the price.

Yep, I have that Casting Cave Magneto head and I agree it is pretty amazing.  It's on the three pack Magneto which I also have a soft goods cape for.  So given that I've sunk so much $ into that Magneto, it is unlikely I will get the 97 version.

At this point I have the Jim Lee unmasked Magneto, Jim Lee Beast, Cockrum Cyclops, and Cockrum Nightcrawler heads from Casting Cave.  Yes, they're pricey, but I don't consider it to be much different than buying a painting from an artist.  Not mass produced, not something you can find in a store, it has a more unique, personalized feel.  They're fun to have, IMO.

The Casting Cave head does looks great, but I can't recommend buying that with the '97 Magneto.  At that price, you might as well spend a couple dollars more and get the MAFEX.  With the MAFEX, you'll still get an unmasked head, but you'll also get an empty helmet for when you're displaying him with the unmasked head, purple hands, multiple effect pieces, a flight stand, and much better body proportions.

Anyway, some comparison shots:

I found Bishop today. Aside from some sloppy paint on his pants and chest he's pretty good. They had 3 and they were all messed up a little in the paint somehow. I'll just repaint some of those parts. And his gun is super gummy. I don't like that. I put the gummy gun in his holster and gave him the old Bishop gun from the Deadpool wave figure. I like it better anyway. I tried a head swap but the sockets are different sizes and I didn't like how it looked. The body is nice, aside from it being a little chunky in the front. But I would be ok with a new classic Bishop on it. The M on his face is way off though. I may try to take that off and repaint it too. But I also got Blade today and he needs a lot of work so I may just get lazy and leave it the way it is. Glad I found him though, he's a pretty decent upgrade.

It's been about a month so these are starting to hit clearance at Target.  I found two Bishops and a stack of Magnetos for $17 each, which is what amazon currently has everyone who's not Wolverine priced at, so maybe they are trying to match.  Still, the fact remains these look so much like what I already have, I couldn't even bite at that price.

What's the tally on pinless X-Men related characters? This is what I can think of off the top of my head:

'97 Wolverine, Bishop, Storm, Rogue, Magneto

Animated Cyclops, Morph

Retro card Longshot, Spiral, Dark Phoenix, Wolverine

275 Forge, Storm, Jubilee, Banshee, Gambit, Psylocke

Outback Rogue

Villains 5pk Stryfe, Vertigo, Pretty Boy

Bonebreaker, Siryn, Vulcan

Deluxe Mojo, Blob, Mojoverse Dazzler, Longshot

2pk classic Storm, modern Rogue

Ch'od wave Cyclops, Emma Frost, Monet, Corsair, Kid Omega, Fang

@fenrys Thanks for Morph. I listed that Wolverine in the retro wave with Longshot and Spiral.

I saw the $17 price at Target yesterday when I went but all they had was Bishop, which annoys me a little, considering I just bought him at Wal Mart last week for full price. But I also spent way too much over the weekend so it's probably better they didn't have the other ones I was gonna get. But if they stay at that $17 price for a bit I may end up getting Storm and Rogue in a week or 2. But, Amazon still hasn't shipped the Luke I bought last week, cause of the holiday I'm guessing. Hes slated for a 6th to 8th delivery. So even if I bought them today I probably wouldn't get them till January lol.

I've stopped collecting the X portion of the MU, but I admit that at $17 if I see that Bishop again I may cave. I have the previous version, but this one is just so much nicer than that. And a simple head swap would make him ideal.
