It's hard for me to get excited for a third X-Men '97 wave despite buying all figures in the first 2 waves except the 2nd Magneto. I also pre-ordered two of those X-Men '97 made to order Sentinels.
Morph was always going to be the most interesting of the leaked/rumored group to me, but including the Gyrich head seals it for me. I have the other animated VHS Morph and the AOA version but this one looks great. That Gyrich head will almost certainly be going on the Hoverchair Charles suited body since Savage Land Chuck has taken residence in the hoverchair for me.
Assuming that these are going to be all pinless, I'll probably end up getting Emma and Jubilee. Maybe Cable as well. Logan and Sunspot seem less likely for me unless they're heavily discounted. Sunspot would almost have to come with powered up parts for me to be interested. We'll see.
I'd just really like to see characters never made in the Legends line before and it doesn't sound like there's going to be any of that. The Gyrich head might be as close as we get, and I am grateful for that at least.
Morph looks great and the Guyrich head is so groovy. Excited to see the rest and how much they've remastered Emma!
Probably will buy Morph simply for what it is plus the Gyrich head. I guess him having a white neck regardless of what head is on is just baked in at this point. Probably will stick the white Morph head on AOA Morph and see if it works better than the standard one (despite AOA not having ears in the comics).
White Queen looks good aside from the line down the front of her boots. Don't know that I need that version of Jubilee, but I like the effect hands. Roberto is my least wanted of the bunch, would have preferred Beast overall. Wolverine looks decent in plain clothes, which is what a lot of folks had asked for. Not wow'ed by the 2pk one with Storm with Wolverine having the Secret Wars paint scheme, and I don't really need another 70s looking Storm after her two-pack with Thunderbird. Cable looks decent, animation-wise, but the face looks a little off to me. I'll remain hopeful until we get better looks at these figures. Overall I'd say White Queen looks the best, and she's by no means a favorite a mine.
Overall very excited for the reveals! specially because we're still getting more figures fro m the show and I absolutely love me some 2-packs.
but of course with Hasbro we always have to have some things that feel not thought or that are not done right on purpose.
- Emma looks amazing, but why do they insist on those heels for her? We already had other female legends wearing heels that are way easier to stand. Like a Black Cat ages ago and the FA Storm.
- Why they have to give us Jubilee in that costume? Don't get me wrong she looks amazing, specially with those long overdue power effects, but she and Beast were the ones we still needed in their classic 90's looks to finish off the main team.
- Same thing for Rogue and Gambit. I mean, it's a fun concept but the other two packs are from they later costumes so I would much rather have Rogue in her Brotherhood look and maybe another character packed with her since Gambit...spoiler spoiler.
We got the VHS Jubilee in her classic animated look not too long ago, so I’m fine with them using her final battle costume here instead.
Agreed on Rogue though. Would’ve been easy to reuse parts from that recent two-pack with Destiny.
Maybe this upcoming Jubilee would be good fodder for those who want a Generation X Jubilee. Just pick up an extra Husk, and do some boil-and-popping.
So are the Wave 3 figures the only thing going up for preorder at 5pm?
