What's funny is I've seen people complain about figures coming out earlier than the release date too. I mean, I get it, if you have a tight budget, but personally I wouldn't preorder anything I knew I couldn't afford at the time of placing the PO. Anyway, yes, there are real problems many of us are dealing with and early/late release of figures ain't one of them.
Β
I am actually usually more annoyed about the figures coming in early than coming in late - simply from an account management standpoint -Β it's easy to sayΒ "just set the money aside when you order and you never have to worry"Β but not always super realistic in a world where some pre-orders are three months away, some are nine months away and some are 18 months away.Β Β Β
I try to budget a certain amount per month for my action figure habit and I try to stick to it.Β Β When product shows up two months earlier than expected - and lands on top of other product that shows up that same month - when expected - it throws off the calculus.Β That's all.Β Β It's not the end of the world and I don't order things I can't afford -Β but it can be annoying.Β Β Β
I solve for that with Hasbro now by always assuming the product will come in 60 days earlier than they indicate.Β Β That's still sometimes not enough -Β but is usually pretty good.Β Β Β Also I now budget for Hasbro for three enormous product dumps a year where Legends and GI Joe have waves and deluxe product that all drop within one single short time frame.Β Β Β Β
Β
Β
it can be a pain either way, figures getting delayed can still hit something you were already expecting to save money for, or things come up. There's really no way of escaping it

Another possibility of the "epic" BAF that Dwight could have certainly enjoyed working on and Dan could like if it's in a Spidey wave and would be another character crossed off the ill-fated EOV list:
Both Daimon and Madeline were re-designed/reimagined and released - why not...
Mephisto?
In a Fan Channel BAF wave not intended for brick-and-mortar, online only to avoid any potential controversy.
Β
Would love to see it happen somehow. I have two Mephisto customs- a 6" one and a 9" one. I prefer the smaller one, but wish it was a bit taller.Β My question to you all is, would you prefer a "human sized" Mephisto or something larger?
The only bummer in Mephisto being a BAF is that it would be harder for me to snag multiples. But just get him out!!! As I said in another thread, it would be so awesome if they could flex that βnot to retailβ muscle and give us those kinds of characters.
Oh yes, Mephisto is a must, give him two alternate heads, one classic pick skin, and the other modern red.
I might get railed for this, but:
Mephisto: with classic and modern heads, multiple gesturing hands, packaged with his throne: $50. Iβd be in.
What significant Marvel characters premiered in Epic Magazine back in the day?

In my mind's eye, he's about 7' tall. According to the Marvel fandom wiki, that's not far off; he's supposed to be 6'6.
I'd prefer something slightly taller than your average ML figure.
Β
Well thatβs it. Β Clearly the mystery BAF is Father Time!
Β
Maybe Dwight DID mean that it's an "epoch" build-a-figure instead of an "epic" one.Β They're pronounced almost the same way...Β 😝Β
I'm still personally hoping for some kind of Build-a-Diorama here. I know that there has been a revolving comic stand rumored, but that's not exactly what I have in mind. It could really be something fairly simple and straightforward to make happy, honestly.
Hoping the "F" inΒ BaF stands for Build a Facade?
In the Dan Who interview Dan said this BAF is "top tier" and in terms of character selection as well as the figure.Β I'm still think along the terms of X - like maybe Holocaust.Β We shall see, but that was nice to hear.
