So I am finally creating a thread that showcases or rather, again makes visible the exemplary projects from the many creative action figure artists that frequent the Fwoosh and who make manifest-in-plastic a given aesthetic from a particular era or artist.
Understand this is NOT a thread in which to advertise your eBay auction or solicit paid custom jobs. This is a thread to humbly post your personally-actualized ideal version of a particular Marvel character or property.
Also, this is not a thread for repaints or part swaps or repaints of hair swaps or head swaps; those projects should be posted in the Part Swaps and Mods thread.  This is a thread for involved, planned constructions that actualize a particular aesthetic or specific iteration of a given Marvel character.
Generally, if the project involves some ingenuity, swapped parts, a respectable amount of sculpting compound, sanding, and some mixed paint applications, then it's a genuine custom and worthy of posting in this thread.

Comments, whether praise or critique, are always encouraged.

I will do my best to update the thread title to reflect/showcase the most recent posts of all fwoosher-made character customs.

  • Thank you for your cooperation and creativity.

Okay then.  I'll get this party started.

Behold, my classic Orb!

Obviously I used a Wonder Man figure, some Apoxie Sculpt, and a lot of paint.

Here's another shot with bop gun action!

(Frustratingly, I am unable to post more than one image in a given post. anyone know why, or more importantly, how to rectify that issue??)

That looks great! That's the Orb I wish we had gotten. Maybe you've given the team some ideas for re-use down the road?

I think IBMM-T knows a solution to posting more than one image. He outlined it to me after one of my posts but I didn’t understand it or couldn’t execute at the time.

Also, amazing Orb. I needed to rush my previous post so it wouldn’t evaporate when the page reloads unexpectedly.

Oh the quirks of this new format…

@renfield75 that would definitely be a welcome aspect that would undoubtedly benefit us all.  And I'm pretty sure the Hasbro boys appreciate customs just as much as we do.

@normdapito I don't know about you, but with Hasbro upping their game and also their implementation of difficult-to-disassemble pinless joints, my customizing volume has greatly diminished. Still, we would very much love to see any amazing new work you have or even older work reposted to serve as the aforementioned examples.  Same goes for Benty, Rob W, Raybot, and numerous others that may still frequent this forum!  Show us your customs!!

Here's my Plantman from the latest Legendary Secret Swap

He's mostly Baron Strucker with a Hatut Zeraze head and a cut down Quasar cape.  My one self critique is that the head should actually open at the top a bit like an onion.

It looks like you are using Flickr to host photos, which I use too. I usually have no trouble with multiple photos - from the individual photo page click the arrow icon, and copy and paste the BBCode for each image into your post. I usually strip out all of the URL and IMG tags and just keep the actual URL that it generates.

Great customs! Looking forward to seeing more - I used to love browsing the old Customs forums and seeing all the incredible work. Thanks for bringing it back Lucid.

Yay! A customs thread! Love the Orb and Plantman- great job, guys.

Here are a couple of mine.

Flag-Smasher

I sculpted and painted the head, cape is from GPSlot, gloves are craft leather, mace is from Destro's Lab.

Upper body and boots are Zero, upper legs are Black Tom, hands are from Cobra Officer.

Crimson Commando

Head is a repainted McFarlane Project Superman, body from Crossfire, repainted belt from McFarlane Deathstroke, bandana from Cobra Viper. Used craft form for the cuffs.

Beautiful work on those, @akajomiha! They're so darn simple you'd think they'd be in a cost-saving wave from Hasbro.

@neozero35 Looks great.  You might consider lightening the eyes up as well so they stand out along with those better looking flames.
