I saw someone in another group start to assemble these "evil" versions (Hydra Cap, Black Winter, Iron Man 2020, white Vision, etc.) into a bad guy Avengers team ("The Revengers").
I didn't want the figures before, but now I kinda want them.
I was on the fence about Hydra Cap and told myself the shield construction would be the deciding factor. So for now it's a pass. These dated clips are just the worst. Thank you to those who are talking about it here. They look especially bad after seeing how Diamond Select released Cap with a shield that has working straps and a spinning disc to position the shield as you like. Sam Wilson Cap is dope, which is why I bought him eight years ago. Might pick him on a sale just because I do really like that figure and the backpack is neat.
I saw someone who popped the clip out of the shield, rotated it sideways so the peg could slip into the mounts on the shield, and that allowed it to be clipped onto Cap's arm so it pointed down the back of his hand like it's supposed to. Not sure if any modification was required.

I feel like we could do that a couple times over at this point.

That’s a cool idea! The new Superior Iron Man would be even better for that and more timely for those modern dark versions.
Hydra-Cap is a fantastic figure. Beautiful sculpted details on his suit, great pinless articulation, and an awesome head sculpt. But like Norm described, the fact that his shield can’t point down in line with his arm is annoying. This is a bladed shield. A shield-punching attack is Hydra-Cap’s signature move and he can’t do it because of the way the clip is oriented. Weird. But you can put the peg for the shield into Cap’s open hand on the right, so at least the killing shield lunge pose is possible. Overall, this is a really nice figure.
I saw four of the Sam Caps on the shelf at a nearby Target in CA, but it got flagged due to release date. So these are starting to show up a bit early lol
What date is the release date? Just so I know not to attempt to buy it if I find it before hand...I saw four of the Sam Caps on the shelf at a nearby Target in CA, but it got flagged due to release date. So these are starting to show up a bit early lol
Website says June 2nd
and a quick check on popfinder shows most stores getting 8-10, so seems plentiful.
Target has a bunch of toys set with a June 2 release date, so I'm guessing all of the stores have a toy section reset scheduled for then. Usually each Target store decides for itself when to do their reset, and the date each store does it can vary by a few weeks. Most do it within a week of the reset date, but some do it 2-3 weeks before or after the reset date.
I'm pretty sure there's no good reason for them to have set a hard release date on Falcon. Everything they do related to inventory management gets randomly screwed up with regularity the past two years, so it's safe to assume that them street-dating Falcon is just another random screw-up.
At some point, Captain America 4 was scheduled to be released on July 26th of this year - I assume the street date is related to that.

I've never seen street dates on comic-based figures that were consistent across retailers, have you? I've only seen that for some but not all MCU figures.
No idea. Seems like a reasonable guess though.
Too bad it's not this weekend on the Memorial Day theme...
