I’m not sure how much he ever appeared in Strange Tales, if at all, but if we’re getting a vaguely Dr. Strange themed wave, then there’s a clear cut choice for a BAF:

But also, the Wizard is in my top 10, so please, shoehorn him into this wave.

Many of us would love that, but in 2022 Marvel lost the rights to Robert E. Howard's characters, and the major ones that affect Marvel for that are Conan, Red Sonja, and Shuma-Gorath.  This is also supposedly the reason the character was called Gargantos when he appeared in the Multiverse of Madness movie.

Rumor has it that Shuma-Gorath was already in the pipeline to be a convention exclusive figure in 2022 to tie in to his appearance in the Doctor Strange movie, but Marvel didn't give Hasbro a heads up on the impending loss of rights and they had to shelve their design.  At the time I wondered if Hasbro had already made some inventory since the news broke in early 2022 when Shuma would have already had to have been in production for 6+ months to make it out by mid-2022, but two years later I'm guessing that didn't happen because some warehouse worker probably would have leaked images of the figure by now.

We might find out sooner than that! Hoping this hint from EE is as obvious as it seems.

I wonder if Hasbro's release plans had to shift over the past month or two. Lack of new MCU material may have forced other waves to move back to fill holes.

If the Strange Tales wave isn't revealed soon, it'll probably be revealed at SDCC. I think they've been revealing a full wave for the past few conventions.

There should be horror themed Marvel merchandise on the shelves every October. I’ve advocated through many a blip, and I didn’t even come up with the idea, that Hot Topic should have a Halloween ML exclusive. Great way to get out Dracula and Werewolf-by-Night and other mystic/horror types.

I really hope that this Strange Tales wave is Hasbro taking a bite of that apple, with the razor right inside.

100%

I've been saying Hot Topic should have horror and "unconventional" (racy costumes, character too questionable for Target) Marvel Legends for years on these boards, and even brought it up to the guys a few years ago at the SDCC Pulse Party they had. I got the "that's a funny idea" comment and a side smile.

An evergreen horror line every Halloween, maybe Dracula and friends with altered paint schemes to keep them "fresh" year after year. It's a total win-win for Hasbro: we'd all buy them, classic Universal Monster collectors would buy them, general horror merch lovers would buy them.

Piling on to this!! These are all excellent points and wonderful reasons to dig into Marvel Horror Legends. Dracula alone has been through so many subtle and not-so-subtle redesigns that he could have a figure a year for a decade.

@beamish

while there’s a variety of looks for some characters, the whole horror end of the Marvel Universe is so untapped, that it could keep going without having to revisit characters for some time.

Just a sampling:

Dracula, Lilith, Varnae, Hannibal King, Nocturne, Frankenstein Monster, Living Mummy, Manphibian, Null, Blackout, Francis Drake, Blade, Simon Garth Zombie, Werewolf by Night, Hellcow, Mephisto, Satannish,  Master Pandemonium,  Sym, Nas’raith, Ulysses Bloodstone, Elsa Bloodstone, Rune, Brother Voodoo, Crotus, Glob, Devil Slayer, Helstrom, Gargoyle, Scarecrow, Veffir Voon Iyax, Baron Mordo, Papa Verite, Nightmare, Baron Blood, Cassie Starkweather, Railsplitter,  etc… etc…

point being that Marvel could go for quite a while.

Wasn’t there supposed to be a reveal yesterday about this wave?

I love the Goth look and Hot Topic as a store so it's a cool idea, but teenage girls don't seem like the ideal demographic to market Marvel Legends to.  😎

It would certainly be a way to get me into a Hot Topic for the first time since I was an angsty 14 year old.

Could be! I guess the EE hint could have also just been more generally Marvel-related, though it seemed awfully specific and doesn't really jive with Hulkbuster. Hopefully we'll see some of the wave sooner than later! I'm eager to see who is in it.

Hope they preview this soon. Would be good if it was as varied of selections as the Zabu wave was. Baron Mordo and Adam Warlock are my 2 favorite speculations.

If its Tales of Suspense we could get some more Iron Man villains like Crimson Dynamo, Melter, Unicorn, Mandarin and maybe finally Titanium Man. Be a good place for a new pinless Classic Cap too since they did the main TOS Iron Man in the IM wave.

Strange Tales would be a different bag - better for Warlock, Dr Strange, Nick Fury and Marvel Monsters. And yep Brother Voodoo, Man Thing, Human Torch and Watcher could be in there too.

The potential figure I want most out of this wave is a classic Nightmare.  Anything else on the list would be gravy.

Classic Nightmare. Classic Mordo. Gene Colan Dracula.

I think those are the 3 heavy hitters possible here

I love your choices on so many levels, but I think it'll be Werewolf By Night instead of Dracula. If I had to choose, I'd personally prefer classic Dracula over WBN, but with his MCU appearance, they'll probably do WBN before Dracula.

Once we get WBN, Vermin would be great in a subsequent Spidey wave made from WBN parts - long overdue character.

I'd definitely add in Blackheart as a very probable heavy hitter in this wave, displaced here from any planned and cancelled. Ghost Rider offerings.

@beamish WWBN was the other one I considered a potential heavy hitter. All for it. I loved the MCU WWBN special and still like my Toybiz version. He’s half done already with the Jackyl body.
