Strange Tales BAF Blackheart Wave

This is probably a good case study in why leaks are so disliked by the people who develop these things. We've had six months to work ourselves up about what "should" be in this wave based on two words chosen as branding (Strange Tales), and it really shows in people's disappointment. If the first time we saw the branding of the wave was during the livestream, there would be about about ten seconds to let your mind run wild before the reveals start and disappointing reality sets in. I think we did the same thing around the Marvel Knights wave, though the reveals there were probably more on theme.

Wolverine, Moon Knight, and Bloodstorm - I don't like it as part of this theme, but I get it. Headliners, they'll move the wave, people will buy them. I'm actually very stoked to get this Moon Knight for the West Coast Avengers, and the gold looks way better than Void wave BP. As CTV points out, Bloodstorm is a 616 X-Man, which is cool - I also loved Mutant X back in the day. Hellverine is the only one of these 3 that I'm actually annoyed by.

Lillith is awesome. Love Ketch Ghost Rider and love that we're getting a tie-in. Never, ever would have expected her. Blackout and Deathwatch - when?!

Son of Satan is great. Glad they're getting the Haslab characters out, and gives me hope for Robbie to eventually show up sans ride, which is no problem (thanks Ramen Toy!). Hopefully a classic version is in the cards at some point.

Dracula looks good. First thing I thought of was former Fwoosher Huck - he finally got his #1 want! I probably would have preferred the Colan version too, but I honestly don't have much attachment to either. The Marvel Monsters continue to be neglected, though I'm positive that Werewolf By Night branding on Man-Thing is not meaningless.

Brother/Doctor Voodoo is the real headscratcher here. AGAIN?!

Blackheart is dope. The Toy Biz figure holds up, but only figuratively - that thing has never been able to stand under its own power. Will be nice to get the upgrade.

Great to see you back around here, and that you got Dracula! Love it when someone gets the figure they championed for so long. Great display - where do the soldiers and throne come from?

I’ve seen several of this wave in my local GameStop, and despite them not being the versions I want I admit I’m tempted. Maybe it’s the season influencing me. But I must remain strong.

Vampire guards are Mythic Legions from 5 years ago or so?

Just picked up Lilith today. She’s nice, and I’m now three figures deep into a wave I said I wasn’t picking up. 😆

Spotted these at GameStops. Bloodstorm seemed the most plentiful, but I've seen at least one of each of Hellverine, Dracula, Brother Voodoo, Daimon Hellstrom, and Lilith.

@enigmaticclarity Yeah, Blackheart doesn’t have ankle rockers. But his ankles still swivel. Personally, I haven’t had problems posing him dynamically because you can use his tail as a stand.

Just picked up Daimon today. Not the version I wanted but I couldn’t resist. I’ve always liked the character.

Speaking of which, does anyone know of any instances where the Sunfire buck had yellow feet and yellow boots? I might swap those onto him if I can find them. Then add a soft goods custom cape. Might hold me over until Hasbro gets around to doing an official one.

That and SDCC Bob Agent of Hydra are the only two I think.  The straps aren't attached to anything on X-Men Deadpool

Dude. I am so glad I bought Dracula. This figure is fantastic. I think I'm gonna have him fighting Vampirella and Sonja, cause he's a big boy and looks like he fits in well with them.

@mmg310 great catch. I don’t have Molten Man, so looks like I’ll need to grab one assuming he’s not overly expensive.

@thor-el  Lots of people bought those boxsets cheap and broke them up so he's fairly plentiful around 15-18 dollars

I saw someone who swapped the Vulcan lower body onto Hellstrom for the lighter red pants and it looked pretty great! I'm tempted to try it, but 1) I'm sure I'd never finish it and 2) I'm very optimistic Hasbro will get to him sooner than later. I hope!
